Snow as precipitation, no.

There are terrain mods that will give your mountains snowcaps, or you can make your terrain all-snow, like Antarctica.

But no, there is no snow yet.

I haven't heard anything about this mod, do you have a link to a site or someplace where it is being discussed?

It's here .

Read hockey97's first post, it's a little less than halfway down the page.

All I have to say is, I hope this can be finished. I know of many projects that are started, but never finished, and I can only hope that this isn't one of them.

Good luck, hockey97.

You can also set the date on your computer December 25, on my computer (when I could SC4) i would set the date to Dec. 25 and realistic snow would appear on the mountain tops. I used this to build ski resorts it worked very nicely, but only on the caps of the mountains at a changing elevation.

The same thing use to happen in some of my cities before I got Rush Hour....snow would appear on mountain summits and ascend/decend in elevation during different seasons.  However when snow appeared, it usually crashed the game about 5 minutes later.  I don't know what caused it but it soon disappeared when I installed Rush Hour. 34.gif

gizmo28 made a modd that is a lot that you put in a Medium to small city tiles and that lot makes it rain. Find the thread at https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=64355&pageNo=2&num=30
and gizmo's site is at  http://www.gizmo.lunarpages.com/ <ahttp://www.gizmo.lunarpages.com/forums/modimages/rain.jpg width=800 align=baseline>

That because you play on large city tiles, so the effect is more spread out, this is true of all effects,  even the maxis clouds do the same thing as mine. I could make them bigger but the strain on anyones computer would make the game unplayable.(would have to make 2 versions for this cuase then the clouds would be to big on the small/med tiles, not worth the time IMO), I did my best with it, but You cant force a square peg into a round hole.  The game is a simulator and there's to much already going on in the background, it wasn't made to have this added to it. Maxis knew this and thats why they never did it themselves or added half the other stuff there was talk about like that rain tool, the stream tool which actually would of created moving stream water.

Guys.. It has been said before, but I will say it again. Hockey97 is a fake. There is no weather modd coming out in November. He is just trying to get attention. The image he showed of an alpha version of his modd was a poorly photoshoped image from normal SC4.

Here are several reasons why I am 100% sure he is a sham.

1. If you look in the top god mode button, you can see that he actually got paint into the shadow and on the button. There is absolutely NO WAY you could do this through modding.

2. If you look closely in the mayor mode button, you can see that there is a patch of normally colored land in the shadow. This is probably because a standard bucket fill in photo shop would stop at the shadow, leaving the land under the shadow looking normal.

3. He also got paint in the my sim button. Same as in the god mode button.

4.  There is no way he could put snow on the roof of buildings, because he would need the 3dsmax models to do that. Maxis has not released their 3ds models, so the only way he could have done this is through Photoshop.

5. When he was asked to post a .dat of his modd as proof, he ignored the request. This is because there is no .dat and there is no modd.

6. He was actually giving himself support and encouragement by making another (illegal) account, with apparent full knowledge that he was doing this. I know this because the IP addresses of both users are IDENTICAL.

All he did was bucket fill like crazy in photoshop, or something very similar.

These reasons show that he is a fraud beyond shadow of a doubt. Just ignore him and hope he gets a perm ban.
