Rail over/under highways?

G'day all,

I've got a question regarding ground-level freight rail. In my city, i have two signficant industrial areas at opposite ends of my city, with a seaport next to one of them. i really want to connect the two by rail for frieght shipping (which as far as i know can only be done with ground-level railways) but i have built long stretches of ground-level highway between them. Is there any way to either a) insert a raised section of highway to allow the rail to pass under, b) build a rail overpass over the highway, c) tunnel under the highway with a rail tunnel, or d) sink the highway into a tunnel and let the rail pass over it?

Cheers, Ben Bazz

Yes to all four assuming you have the latest NAM and simoncrie's Hole Digging Lots available on the STEX.

If you need more details, reply or feel free to PM me.

if your looking for a fairly simple answer use a small section of elevated highway to act as an overpass over the rail lines

If you don't have the NAM or smoncrie's hole digging lots (although they are both great) you can still add a section of raised highway to the ground level. Just remove the section of the highway where you want the rail to go and about 1-2 tiles on both sides. Use the raised highway tool and put 1/2 of the four squares of the tool on one end of the highway and drag to the other. The raised highway will automatically connect to the existing highway and you will have a highway overpass. Best of luck to you.

its easy if you have nam, just drag the rail over the highway problem solved.
