Ok, I am now in Sunn florida.Clearwater Beach to be exact, on gasp...SPRING BREAK?  but am i with friends?, am i with people i want to be around? NO! im with my family!!!! while i love them dearly, this is not my ideal spring break. Everyone here is either a Drunken twentysomething or a family with Toddlers.

Everyone i know is doing things with friends, or hanging out in TSP(Tompkins Square Park,NYC). But i am in florida, bruning on the beach. all my time so far has been spent so far on my mothers laptop in my room. In essence it sucks. no one to hang out with, not even any girls my age, im so bored id be willing violate my new found Asexuality and go for a nice walk on the beach with a nice girl, but all the girls are either 24 or 4, so that wont do. Id rather be in New York going to shows with frineds, and hangout in TSP and Greenwih Village than be here.

anyways, back to the point of this thread, has anhyone ever been on a vacation they really hated? or for that matter really loved, lets share our stories.

I went to Kerville,TX for 5 days with my family when I was a freshman in high school.  Kerville is like this super small town that has NOTHING to do except eat in restaraunts that look like wood cabins and play tennis at the hotel.  It totally sucked.  My parents liked the "small town" feeling and thought it was nice.  (we live in Houston) All I did was watch tv and tune my nonexistant tennis skills.

On the flip side, two summers ago my parents and I went on a mini tour of the Arizona/Nevada/Utah area starting with the Grand Canyon, then Las Vegas for a week, Hoover Dam, then rented a house boat for a week on Lake Mead, with a sprinkling of a couple of other national park visits.  My parents wanted to go "all out" since this was declared the last true family vacation that we would have.  I was off to college and don't really have time (or the interest) to take long family vacations anymore.  But it was definately a great experience.

My family went to Clearwater Beach in February of '93...

But I was 5 years old then, so occupying myself by playing in the sand on the beach was fine.

Actually, I do believe I've managed to avoid going on any vacations I would've hated. In the summer of '02, my family was planning on going to London since my mom and sisters had friends that had moved there. I had very little interest in going there, so the 6 hour plane ride would never have been worth it. Fortunately, after I started whining, my dad realized he really didn't want to go either, and we both stayed back and went off on our own seperate trip to Boston and then to Cape Cod.

If you always take the same road, you will never see anything new.

We had our spring break a month ago! Now to the 4 day weekend!

No need to go to Florida or any place warm. This winter had virtually little or no snow. Wierd for Canada (especially the Great Lakes)

As I see it, holiday's with your family are a good thing, you're not going to be able to do it for much longer, and although I'm looking forward to holidays when I can go with friends and do my own thing, I still enjoy holidays with my family very much. Anyway, back on topic...

My best holiday was Florida too. I went in 2004, my first ever time to the States, and I stayed on I Drive in Orlando. We rented a car and went to all the usual places. Universal Studios, the Islands of Adventure (r0x0rz my s0x0rz BTW!!!), Wet n' Wild, Kennedy Space Centre and Busch Gardens. We also did some less common tourist stuff. The raft rides over the swamps was AMAZING. You know those big rafts with the huge fan on the back that glides over the water. There was loads over Alligators all over the state. At first it was like "OMG, look, teh g4t0r5!!!111" but then after a while it was like "Yeah...another alligator...yeah ok...". Anyway, just a little about my time in Florida....

I love Las Vegas, but my family kinda drove me crazy due to the six hour car rides....
