I just want to thank you for bringing my hometown of Milwaukee to the masses.  Its nice to see that people can actually see the charater this city has.  What other buildings in Milwaukee catch your attention:  Possibly the Pabst Theater, Pabst Mansion, Pfister Hotel(With the Ghosts).  There are so many.  And don't forget Milwaukee has the Worlds Largest Four Faced Clock in the Allen Bradley Tower, its not Big Ben in London.

Hello Simgoober.

I was attempting to change your beautiful Araganoth Monumnet Building into a prop in the Plugin Manger but thus far have been unable to do so. Is there a way for me to do it? Normally I would just leave the Model File in th Plugins Folder, go into PM, and change it into a prop, but like I said I'm unable to do it with this building.

             I may be wrong but I think Goober addressed the issue of Plops.I ain't no computer whiz but I think you download something to convert a lot to Plop.
 
    Also don't forget most of these designers have a life outside of ST and sometimes there time is short to do what they would like.
 
   Bottom line is let us be happy we got folks Goober around to improve a unfinished game.

@ Topcliff: Why don't you just check SimGoober's tutorial on how to turn a landmark into a ploppable with jobs? It takes the detour via a growable anyway, so the conversion grow -> plop is covered as well. Look, a moron like me can do it; so you can do it, too. 2.gif

    Also, just FYI.  I am in the process of updating a bunch of my older lots, starting with all my homes. Over time, I have tweaked many of them on my system, adding new lot szes, and changing some properties.  I never kept track of which I changed and which I didn't though... so I am doing them all.  I am also adding the new BTE Tracking codes to them (most didn't have them), so they can be used for future rewards.
     
    I just updated  7 of the homes to this end.  I have 9 more sets ready, but I need to make new readme files and installers.  I also found one little house I never uploaded, so will upload that one as well...
     
    Just FYI. I didn't keep the plop version of 95% of my lots, as I never use them. So as I update packs, many of them will only be growables.  Being as I am starting with the homes, that shouldn't cause any issues, as most of my home were only growables anyhow.

    Wow, that sounds like a mammoth task. Does that mean I will have to remake my personal little table that contained lot sizes, tilesets, zoning info etc. to help me grow some particular BATs? 21.gif Oh well, nobody forces me to d/l, and actually I really appreciate how much you care about your older stuff, still making updates, tweaking details etc... not many BATters do that, at least not on such a large scale. 1.gif

    One question about the BTE stuff: I noticed that e.g. your hotels are BTE with some special properties like RLS Hotels or something, don't remember the exact name. But... are there actually any rewards I might get with these buildings already? The same goes for any other stuff from you that's BTE - I'd just like to know so that I can see if I have the rewards or if I need them. Thanks in advance and keep up your incredible work! 44.gif

    SG, do you think you might be able to note which lots you update on your thread here?  I don't have any of your lots tracked, and I could go back and search, but...  if you could post here I'd be really happy!

    T Wrecks : Sorry.. sorta.. lol.  I didn't keep track of problems I found, even if there were any.  Just over time I added stuff to lots, sometimes just re-arranged props or added a new lot size.  I know you have been really keeping up with the way lots are modded for the community... nice job. 

    jglei701 : The easiest way to figure that out is to sort the STEX by Updated First.  That will list all the lots on the STEX, in the order they have had updates, if any.  Good idea to check that from time to time anyhow.  Sometimes surprises me what has been updated... 3.gif

    Thanks SG. Yes I did find it strange. I know Aragonth Monumnet doesn't come with a DESC. File. But I don't think that should matter.

    Thanks for the input. If you mean by the dat file the model file (there are only two files in my download, a LOT and a Model File), I get it to show up in PM and can easily make a prop29.gif The problem is the araganoth PROP will NOT show up in the LE. What I would like to do with it is to submerge it part way into water against a cliff face 48.gif If you have a chance (no problem if you don't), could you check this out please. 29.gif

    If it's not showing up, then try making the lot bigger. The statue is actually bigger than the lot I put it on.. I had to fiddle with the occupancy size to get it to work. 

     
    And as far as plops go, I make plop lots where I think they make sense.  95% of the buildings, they are really designed to grow in game.  But, just now I released two different lots; one is a growable commercial lot, the other a plop reward lot.  Something for everyone!

    SG, do you have any idea of the updates you did to the Birka would cause them not to show up in Barbyw's The Pits?  I have all the dependencies; the only difference in my game is that I downloaded and installed your recent updates.  It appears that I have all the other dependencies, I'm not getting a brown box, just lots with no houses.  I even reinstalled the Birka, just to make sure.  TIA.
     
    EDIT:  I just zoned the 10x10 mega lot for the mobile home park.  None of your mobile homes show up in it, only the other ones listed in the dependencies... holyroller or something like that.

    Do you by any chance have the Germania Building in Milwaukee on your 'to do' list? Somewhere in the future. I really like that building. perhaps you do too.

    vab423: I don't know why you are having the problems with The Pits as I made a set of prop exemplars for that in the Housing Support Files. I have also updated all SG's houses this week with the updates from the STEX and when I checked I was still seeing the houses.

    The 10x10 trailer park is something different as I am having the same problem. SG is away until the weekend so I will try and sort out what is wrong with that and post here if I can find the problem.
     
    Edit: I found the problem44.gif SG has used the trailers from the FarmTrailer and FarmMobileHomes packs that GrampaAl included in this farm: Lil Als Farmette
    They are SG's models but a different set of props. I fyou download that lot the trailers will appear.

    Thanks a million Barbyw, you are FABULOUS!  I downloaded GrampaAl's Lil Als Farmette, reloaded the game and boom -- no trailers.  After saying a couple of bad words, I bulldozed the lot and when it rebuilt ... viola!  trailers.  So, I bulldozed the Pits and it, too, grew back with the houses in place. I'm not sure why the lots need to be bulldozed, but everything seems to be working now.
     
    Have I mentioned your support, knowledge and patience are very much appreciated?
     
    Must go figure out how to brine a turkey now.

    My plugin manager seems to not want to work at all, I do have DatGen and Wasy Tweaker, so what would I have to do to make a growable lot into a plobbable with jobs????

    Mexicanboy13r: That's a sidewalk prop. SG uses them so he can freely place the sidewalk and align it with the building entrance.

    Finally back.. just gotta love 2 - 16 hour drives in 4 days to visit the inlaws...

    I found that problem with the trailer park 10x10. That was a brain fart on my behalf, I should have caught it.  SC4Tool pointed it out, but I really thought it was a duplicate file, so I ignored it.  I'll update the pack a little later to remove that extra file needed. Just gotta use the RIGHT prop family number..
     
    And yep, that is a sidewalk prop, though I am not sure why it is showing up in that layout.  In mine, the sidewalk goes under the building, so only the part needed between the door and parking lot shows up. .something else to investigate.
     
    My next big project will be the Milwaukee Grain Exchange (Mackie Building)..  I haven't started it yet, I have been playing the game some, and away for a few days.  Once I break into it, I'll show a progress pic.
     
    EDIT : The Mobile Home lots has been updated.  Just re-install and it  should be set to go.  I fixed which prop families the lots use, so the dependency list is correct (no changes). You may have to bulldoze the lots to get them to grow right, but no other issues should arise.

    I'm back to square 1 with the mobile home megalot.  I d/l'd the update and installed it.  I zoned for a new mobile home park and once again have the problem with your mobile homes not showing up.  Do I:
     
    a) uninstall GrampaAl's little farmette (Barbyw's most excellent suggestion that got it to work the first time)?
    b) delete the updated mobile homes from my plug-ins and THEN install the update?
    c)  install the previous mobile home update, use GrampaAl's farm and forget you updated the mobile home pack?
    d)  other?
