About This Club

This club is for roller coaster park builders. Here we can share info and user-created content for any of the games in this genre starting from the Roller Coaster Tycoon series. I will be contributing content primarily for OpenRCT2 and for RCT3 which was upgraded in 2020 to the Complete Edition for Windows 7-10 and can now use up to 4GB. Planet Coaster developed also by Frontier is the current state-of-the-art game, but OpenRCT2 and RCT3, similar to SC4, compared to their successors, seem yet the most user/creator friendly.

Enjoy!
  6. Thanks for the review @nightbird615. This is a track file for OpenRCT2. The file includes scenery which I added to the track I made in OpenRCT2. These files are found in the Roller Coaster Park Builders club and they appear as recent or updated files along with those for SC4 on the ST home page. I started the club for anyone interested in park-builders as well as city-builders. My next project, as you've inspired, is to go through the STEX and make a list of all Theme Park lots. Then I'll make a post in this club and send you a link. I'll also make a package of lots for SC4 when I get back to SC4 lot-making.
Just for clarification, is this for SC4? If so, I hope to see more variations of theme park rides. Great job. Thank you!

This coaster was created using OpenRCT2. The settings are No Intensity Preference, Guests Ignore Intensity, and Min. Nausea Tolerance. These settings allow the coaster to be busy while keeping the First-Aid stall necessary. If the coaster is not properly maintained it will eventually crash. The physics requires the weight of 7 car trains. The ATM, First-Aid and Restroom stalls must be installed seperately from within the game. The layout is 48x10 blocks and the cost to build is $61,000. Other statistics can be viewed in the screenshots. To install place the Hollywooden Hills Coaster Scenery.td6 file in the C:\Users\<username>\Documents\OpenRCT2\track folder.

  9. Mr. Bones' Wild Ride "The RollerCoaster Tycoon series spawned a popular Internet meme based on a series of posts made in 2012 on 4chan featuring a slow, ghost train track ride called "Mr. Bones' Wild Ride" that took four in-game years to complete, leading the passengers in the game to express "I want to get off Mr. Bones Wild Ride". At the ride's conclusion, the passengers were then greeted by a skeleton prop with a top hat, with a sign stating "The ride never ends". Both phrases have become popular memes." --Wikipedia -------------------------------------------------- Mr. Bones' Wild Ride https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/mr-bones-wild-ride --------------------------------------------------- One does not simply get off of Mr. Bones' Wild Ride https://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/rhs54/one_does_not_simply_get_off_of_mr_bones_wild_ride/ This article leads to the SV.6 track file.

That would be awesome. THANK YOU!
  11. SimFun Starter Park for OpenRCT2

Thanks for your input. There used to be a lot of user created content for RCT2 and RCT3 but not so much anymore. At some point I'll go through the STEX and collect models and put together a package of lots for making theme parks in SC4.
  12. SimFun Starter Park for OpenRCT2

Thank you for the clarification. Appreciate it! I hope you and other content creators create more spectacular new rides for a theme park.
  13. SimFun Starter Park for OpenRCT2

Thanks @nightbird615 The picture may look similar to SC4, but what you are viewing is a screenshot of a park created in the open source version of Roller Coaster Tycoon 2. Each of the 3 versions are of the same park which is similar in RCT2 to an entire city tile in SC4. Yes, similar to SC4, objects are selected and plopped. All the content in the picture comes with the game. The only UCC are the two roller coasters that were built in-game using a track editor and then shared as a track file. UCC for RCT2 is scarce now, but programmers still update the open source version. My next upload will be a track file which includes scenery from the game, and will be ploppable from the menu for the wooden coaster. I will also make a blank park with just terrain and a grid so you can layout and plop objects in your own park. The game includes a random terrain generator, but can also import grayscale heightmaps. In RCT3 you can also build structures in-game and share them as structure files, but in RCT2 you have to share them with a track. SC4 is a city building game, RCT2 is a park builder, but if the two were combined it would be a masterpiece. Here's the link to the open source version: Home - OpenRCT2 The retail proprietary version of RCT2 must be purchased and installed first. Here's the link to where RCT2 is on sale for C$2.79 at GOG.com -75% RollerCoaster Tycoon® 2: Triple Thrill Pack on GOG.com Until April 25, the entire RCT bundle: -75% RollerCoaster Tycoon Bundle on GOG.com And of course our beloved SC4: -75% SimCity™ 4 Deluxe Edition on GOG.com for $C6.79 Get'em while they're hot!
  14. SimFun Starter Park for OpenRCT2

Love this! Question.....are the three versions something you just "plop" down into your city or are they individual items in the park that we can use to plop where we want to build our own version of the amusement park? If these can't be used "individually," I hope you will upload individual items so we can build our own parks. Also, just a suggestion for future reference.....if you do more of these types of items, would you please not include the parking lots so we can make a large theme park and just put our own parking lots/parking structures on the outside, aka like Disneyland/Disneyworld, etc.? Anyway, great work! Thank you!!!

SimFun Park OpenRCT2 Introduction ________________________________________ These parks were created using OpenRCT2 https://openrct2.io/ The zip file includes 3 versions of the park including a landscape, scenario (Not included), and two parks in first stages of development. The park files must be placed in folders corresponding to their use as they are in the zip folder. ________________________________________ C:\Users\<username>\Documents\OpenRCT2\landscape SimFun Park Entrance and Parking.park Map size: 148 x 148 tiles This landscape can be loaded in Scenario Editor. The Scenario objects and objectives can then be further developed by the user. ------------------------------------------ C:\Users\<username>\Documents\OpenRCT2\scenario SimFun Park Starter.park (NOT INCLUDED) This park is loaded from the Main Menu as a scenario under Beginner Parks The only objective is to Have Fun, but it is not a sandbox, it is optimized for ease of management and construction. Several of the OpenRCT2 cheats are used. Includes only an entrance and parking area. Cash per guest is set to $20 and initial hunger and thirst to 84% to ensure ATM and stalls are immediately used. Intensity Preference is set to None to ensure all rides are used. **** NOTE: This scenario is not included in the zip file as it is 39MB *** ------------------------------------------- The 2 following versions are built upon the above scenario, and can be loaded from the Main Menu under Load a Saved Game. --- --- --- --- --- C:\Users\<username>\Documents\OpenRCT2\save SimFun Park Transport.park Includes only the entrances, parking area and monorail train. There are no guests and park is not open, needs to be developed before becoming operational. By setting OpenRCT2 cheats to Guests Ignore Intensities and Prices, and Nausea Tolerance to minimum, guests will courageously ride any coaster but not without feeling the effect of gravity, making the First-Aid stand useful. --- --- --- --- --- C:\Users\<username>\Documents\OpenRCT2\save SimFun Park Base Rides.park This park is developed with 2700+ guests and a park rating of 900+. There are several rides and stalls including: @kSlank's Treetop Flyer Wooden Coaster and Thunderlooper Looping Coaster

  18. My tracks

Thanks for adding some content. So far I've looked at the Treetop Flyer, but I'll have to spend a weekend getting familiar again with RCT2. I have installed Open RCT2 and look forward to trying it online. I have some original content coming soon for RCT3.
