  1. Elevated Highway transition pieces for NWM?

Yeah, I think you are right. I am happy with it, but i was trying to make the game happy too, namely the traffic advisor guy.
  2. Elevated Highway transition pieces for NWM?

Tried it a few different ways

Thanks Handyman! I was able to get it running thanks to you pointing out the manual install section of the read-firstNAM-47.html file. I foud the problem when comparing the folders of my install against the jar file. I found that the 1 core and 0 NAM Controller directories were missing many files and, of the 2 dat files that were in the directories, they were 0 bytes in size. So my problem was an error while copying the directories from windows. I am very happy as now i can play SC4 without having to reboot into Windows each time! I believe that the copy method is a valid way to install this as long as everything gets copied... lol THanks again!
  4. Hello, Im pretty new with NAM and still figuring everything out. I started a city/ region in Vanilla but was faced with seemingly unsolvable traffic issues, so i install NAM in hopes of fixing traffic issues. One issue that i keep running into is how to transition my elevated "Maxis" highways into something besides AVE-4. I end up transitioning a elevated highway into AVE-4 to RD-6 to TLA7 but the AVE-4 will show up as a deep red in the traffic data view and then i get the advisor that tells me that there is a traffic problem. Is there a better way to transition these highways that I am not seeing? It seems counterintuitive to transition from six lanes to four and back to six. Or do you have to demolish all of your old highways and replace with RHW? I should add that this is in a situation where you are ending a highway into surface roads. Thanks

Yeah, good point. I was trying to run "sudo java -jar NetworkAddonMod_Setup_Version47.jar" The resulting error looks the same as what you had with this test file. There must be something that the installer does more than just copying folders to the plugins folder. If i could figure that out, i could manually modify, copy, or replace files needed to make this work in Ubuntu. Basically manually do everything that the installer does. Not sure where to begin with that one though... I have a dual boot system and have it working on my Windows 10 partition, but it is just a pain to reboot every time i want to play SC4 and then reboot again every time i want to go back to my main OS.

I get the error with or without sudo

I am new here and hoping for some help to figure out this error I get when i try to install NAM. My setup is Ubuntu 22.04, openjdk 11.0.21, running SimCity 4 in steam with Proton 8. When I try to run the command sudo java -jar NetworkAddonMod_Setup_Version47.jar, i get the dreaded Exception in thread "main" java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError followed by a string of other exception errors. I also tried sudo JDK_JAVA_OPTIONS='-Dswing.crossplatformlaf=javax.swing.plaf.metal.MetalLookAndFeel' java -jar NetworkAddonMod_Setup_Version47.jar with the same result. After fighting this for 8 or 9 hours and exhausting everything i could find on Google, I'm not really sure where to go from here. Someone mentioned installing NAM in Windows and then copying the plugin folders to Linux- So i also installed SimCity 4 and NAM in Windows 10 and copied the NAM folder from the windows plugins folder to the Linux plugin folder. I also copied the Simcity4.exe file from the steam install to the windows install, applied the patch and copied the resulting file back over to linux steam. What i have now is all of the buttons in the menus of SC4 for NAM related objects, but when i select most of them, i get a plain red cursor and when i click on the ground to place an object, nothing happens. I need help in understanding what i am doing wrong... THanks!
