Thanks this worked well. The installer got hung up early using the standard installation process. If you have this issue select "custom installation" and run it through that. Keep the default path. You can select the standard options preset on the next page. It will be the exact same installation but it avoids the glitch that hangs it up. I did this on the latest version of High Sierra, released a few days ago I believe.
