Hi, I started playing SC4 a few weeks ago, this site has had lots of great info and I can usually find answers to my questions already posted. I just installed NAM and it seems to be preventing me from connecting one-way roads in an intersection. I use a grid layout of two one-way roads in opposite directions with one space in between., and after installing NAM I have problems re-connecting my roads if I bulldoze anything. Sometimes it just wont let me connect the last road in the intersection at all, and I have to fudge the connection. Other times it works just fine. The pic with the industrial zones shows "before. Then I bulldozed some roads to put in a landing strip, and tried to re-attach them afterwards, and they don't connect. Any idea what the problem is? Has anyone else experienced this? Is this just because my city has "legacy" roads that I built before installing NAM, and the old and new roads don't mix? Or is there some sort of special tile that I have to lay to make this work properly? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you all for the suggestions and advice. I tried re-installing NAM and disabling OWR roundabouts, but this caused 1) existing roundabouts to disappear, which I expected, and 2) when I tried to re-build my intersections, it allowed me to place the roads, but then they disappeared instead of a proper intersection forming. So I'm re-installing NAM now with default settings. A solution that did work was MushyMushy's - if I just use regular road for the final connection in the intersection, that works and I end up with more or less what I want - the "box" intersection, with 3 of the 4 roads going one way, and just a few tiles of regular road for one of the legs which shouldn't mess things up and looks OK from my perspective. If I have any further problems I will go ahead with Nonny's suggestion, but at least right now it appears I have a working solution. I really appreciate everybody's help! One follow up question - Nonny Moose and rsc both stated that avenues are superior to my one - way road system. Why is that? As far as I can tell, two parallel one-way roads seem like they'd be the same as an avenue, except they're cheaper and as far as I can tell more flexible (I can't put a median in the avenue). Is there something that I am missing?

Thank you Corina Marie! I wanted to be sure to make it easy for people to help. Mr. / Ms. Moose from Canada, I investigated your statement and not only that, the only roads that can come in / out of the rotary appear to be at 90 degree angles to each other that would meet in the middle of the rotary of they continued that far. So my entire system of parallel one-way roads with a bonus strip / mass transit median seems to be toast. I would consider uninstalling NAM, but of course I only discovered this after I replaced 457 Maxis bus stops with NAM bus stops... (which is how I originally discovered this problem... it is really hard doing all that demolition in a dense CBD without taking out a skyscraper or road now and then). I don't suppose anyone has any ideas other than "come up with a new system pal"? I really liked my one-way street system, the only traffic I'd ever had (either pre or post NAM) was at the one row of streets at the edge of town that was regular road, and it gave tons of parks and plazas for the people. Rsc I guess you posted while I was typing... yeah I like the median for bonus tiles and looks. Is there any way to get around the rotaries forming? Or is that hard coded to always happen when you have a 3x3 donut of roads?
