Bah. Hilary is anything but an "outsider". This is very exciting, though, that Sanders is actually making some ground. Before the primaries started, people continuously claimed that Hilary was an "inevitable" candidate; I never saw it that way, though I admit it was difficult to imagine Sanders getting the nomination. Now that seems increasingly likely, but I guess we shall see if that remains so after the New Hampshire results. I've never paid so much attention to an election before; it's infinitely frustrating that I'm not old enough to vote in it -_-

Sanders seems truly Left wing. Hilary seems like a moderate, maybe even slightly right-leaning (almost everything has been pushed to the right in this country). For that reason, I think Sanders is a very interesting candidate, but I don't how likely it is that someone like that could win. If the final race becomes between Sanders and Cruz, this might be the most polarized election in U.S. history.

Very cool to see Sanders so close to Hilary. If he can win this or at least come in a very close second, and then win New Hampshire...that could lead to the primary win. Disappointing that Cruz won Iowa--truly cannot stand him. But since Iowa's been picking the loser Republican the last couple of elections, maybe they will continue that trend.

From what I hear, the disease itself isn't very lethal and most people recover; it's the teratogenic effects that are the problem.

How do I get rid of situations like this (circled in red) where there are two streetlights occupying the same interval along the sidewalk (one in front of the other): Is it caused by a mod? I also notice there are two lights in that little cul-de-sac there that I neglected to circle. Better pic: Edit: I've solved the issue. Thanks to everyone who commented.

Wait a minute--wait just a cotton-picking minute. I figured it out. You're right--it is the Realism mod. It adds a light to some of the medium and high-wealth housing which sometimes coincides with the lights on the street, causing the "double" situation. I just tested it. Bulldozed a few houses with the same problem in another city (after removing the mod). New houses grew in the same spots (including some of the same exact houses) and the lights were not there. Removing the mod won't help. I need to bulldoze every building of that type built under that mod. Obviously I'm not going to do that, but that's the problem.

I don't know; it's possible. I'll see what I can find. What it looks like to me is that there is a light automatically placed in front of each of those medium-density rowhouses and sometimes it overlaps with the lights placed automatically on the street. If you look at the street labeled "Lafayette" up there, you can see two lights on the left-hand side of the street and yet there are 13 on the other side (counting the doubles). 2 and 13? It seems like a ridiculous incongruity.

Removing the Realism Mod didn't change anything And that's the only mod I know of that I have that affects the lights. Here's a picture that maybe illustrates the problem better; see how there is one light right against the house and one in the sidewalk. It's as if the ones in the sidewalk are placed regularly regardless of the houses and the ones in front of the houses appear as well, causing two to appear in some spots. I've circled all spots where two lights appear:

Largely ignored? I heard about these regularly here in the "West", especially from NPR. The West loves to harp on the threat of Islamic terrorism.

Thomas Sowell is black, yes, he's a classical liberal economist. Nonetheless, it's all well and good to discuss "the blacks" here, but I wonder what an input from someone who's experienced that life would be. I know people who've grown up in the heavily-policed areas of L.A. and talk about the unfair treatment by the police. Yes, those areas are more violent and heavier police presence is justified--but that doesn't justify some of the more extreme behavior of the police. The man who shot up the Planned Parenthood in Colorado Springs--he shot at the police and managed to kill one of them, yet he was still apprehended alive. If he had been black, I wonder if the same thing would've happened. Tamir Rice, a 12 year old with a fake gun, was gunned down within seconds of the police arriving. Sometimes the police officers involved themselves are black or members of minorities--it isn't necessarily because of "whitey" but because of some subconscious racial bias that unfortunately costs lives. Either way, I'm half-white and half-bread and live in a bougie area--I have little to contribute. As usual, I don't think either extreme is wholly right about this (i.e. it's not all "racism" and it's not all "blacks oppressing themselves")--the answer is usually somewhere in the middle. Oh how I could not disagree with that more. I love rap, and I also love the music of Szymanowski, Messiaen, and Bach. I suppose I must be an anomaly.

I just mean the small one between the two red circles. I'm indicating the situation where there are two streetlights in front of each other in the same spot on the sidewalk. Perhaps it could be a result of the Realism Mod Part 2? I'm thinking it might be the "Realism Mod". I'll remove it and see if it makes a difference. Yeah, well, in biology, "asexual" usually refers to sex...it's been co-opted as a term for a sexual orientation (or a lack of one), so I can see how that might be misleading. But really, the two are unrelated. Transgender people can be straight, gay, bi, asexual, anything.

I think in general, there are things humans cross-culturally consider "evil" by and large (i.e. murder, rape, theft, etc.) but when you get down to the more technical rules it becomes more and more subjective, and then it just becomes a contest between cultures.

@A Nonny Moose, he meant "sexuality" not "sex". Googlefluff isn't saying he's not sure if he's male or female, he's talking about his sexual orientation, i.e. what he's attracted to. Googlefluff: Asexuality IS a real thing, there are plenty of asexuals out there (just look around at Google--there are forums for people who identify that way). To deny the existence of it is ignorant. Asexuality simply means you don't experience sexual attraction. You may be emotionally or romantically interested in someone, but the desire to do anything sexual isn't there. However, sometimes people aren't truly asexual and just need a good relationship to experience sexual attraction--but that's something you'll just have to discover for yourself, @Googlefluff. It depends. Most people aren't claiming there are more than two--they're just claiming that their gender identify doesn't match their physical sex. But some people claim to be "genderqueer", which is essentially neutral. It's also not true that this is some "new" thing born out of the internet. Even some North American Native tribes had a concept of a "third gender" (that was essentially neutral or transgender) and to them, it was simply something normal and accepted as part of life.

I can kind of agree with that. There's nothing inherent in the genetic make-up of boys that makes them like playing with toy trucks--that's societally determined (old timey pictures of young boys wearing what are essentially dresses might clear some of that up). As a kid, I liked playing with my sister's dollhouse--no one batted an eye. I didn't learn until later that it was "frowned upon". -_-

Gender dysphoria is a real thing; it's a real "condition". But that's just it--is it worth making permanent changes to your body because of a mental condition? I think for some people, it genuinely is, and their lives are much better afterward. But I also think that sometimes the decisions are made too early, for children who might not exactly know what they want yet. The thing is, it isn't that a person who is biologically male wants to be a female, it's just that they feel they are female, and their body doesn't match their "mental gender". But what I'm confused about is how "real" the whole concept of mental gender is. Many push the idea that sex is biological, but gender is social construct. If this is true, are you to tell me that people are altering their physical appearance for the sake of a social construct? And then what's stopping someone like Rachel Dolezal, who changed her appearance because she "felt" black, despite being physically white? One could argue that race is purely a matter of physical appearance, that the brains of black and white people aren't significantly different, whereas there are salient differences between the male and female brain. But again, that's depending on biological sex. If however, a biological male had a "female brain" (and this could be demonstrated), then maybe I'd believe it was about more than just a social and cultural construct. I'm just rambling here, but that's just what I think. I'm certainly not arguing for any discrimination against transgender people, but at the same time, there are a lot of complicated issues about whether or not transgender people should be treated as "real" members of their identified gender.
