  1. Show us Your Interchanges!

The most complex interchange I have ever created.
  2. Keep in mind that, when looking at your computer's specifications, higher numbers don't necessarily mean better. 1GB of video RAM on a Radeon 5470 is not the same as 1GB of video RAM on a Radeon 6850. The reality is that if you're using a low-end Acer from Best Buy, a non-gaming laptop, or a computer that's older than 4 or 5 years old, this game isn't going to run very well. For what it's worth, I'm using an AMD Phenom II x4 955 BE @ 3.6GHz, Radeon HD5770, and 8GB of DDR3 RAM, and I'm pretty sure my graphics card will need to be upgraded for this game.
  3. SCAG Boeing 777 - Series II

didn't even know these were in the works! great job!
  4. Megaupload Shutdown

On a related note, Filesonic shut down it's filesharing service today. Link
  5. Deadly Riots Rock London

I'm surprised they haven't authorized the use of stronger force against these people. Obviously just standing there with riot shields is doing nothing, especially when the rioters start throwing road signs and fireworks. Apparently they're not even allowed to use water cannons.
  6. The Politics of Canada

looks like it's going to be a Conservative majority with the NDP as official opposition.
  7. Your system build!

Desktop Processor: AMD Phenom II x4 955 Black Edition overclocked to 3.6GHz (stock 3.2) Mobo: Asus M4A87TD Evo Graphics: XFX Radeon HD5770 Memory: 4GB DDR3-1600 Hard Drive: 1TB Western Digital Caviar Black OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Most demanding program: probably Battlefield Bad Company 2.. Rating: 5.9 Only cost me about $1000. Thinking of upgrading my PSU (crappy OCZ 600W) and my graphics some time in the future... maybe to a 6950 or an amd hd7***.. Notebook Toshiba Satellite Pro M300 Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo T5750 @ 2.0GHz Graphics: ATI Mobility Radeon HD3470 Memory: 3GB Hard Drive: 250GB OS: Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit Resolution: 1280x800 Battery Life: 2 - 2.5 hours The battery life is the only thing that's pushing me towards getting a new notebook. Newer notebooks can achieve 5-6 hours, and Macbooks can get 7-10. If I take mine to school I have to bring the adapter.
  8. Possible meltdown on Japan

BBC Surprised this hasn't shown up on the current events board. Along with the 19 reported dead, the JMA is reporting that the city of Kurihara has been completely destroyed. Tsunami watches are in effect for much of the Pacific, including the west coast of North America.
  9. What has happened to you on vacation?

A couple of years ago my family and I were going to San Francisco and before leaving my dad got a text from the airport that our flight was delayed, so we left the house later. When we got to the airport, we learned that our flight was un-delayed, it was going to leave soon, and that our flight AND the next two flights out to SF were overbooked. We spent 8 hours at YVR with nothing to do but listen to music or look at planes.
  10. Haru Haru (Day By Day) - Big Bang edit: seems asian characters aren't supported by this forum.
  11. Rebellion (Lies) - Arcade Fire Their new album The Suburbs is great, but for some reason it makes me love Funeral even more.
  12. Come Together - The Beatles
  13. The Greatest Man That Ever Lived (Variations On A Shaker Hymn) - Weezer
  14. What shoes are you wearing?

I have many pairs of shoes, but some of them I only wear occasionally Sneakers (leather): Nike Composure SI, Lacoste Carnaby ET Sneakers (canvas): Converse Chuck Taylors, Vans... something... not sure what the name is, but they're black low-tops Formal: Clarks Flip Flops: Hollister I also have a pair of Adidas Superstar 2s that I've worn to death. The soles are worn, the white parts are yellowed, and the leather smells funny. They've been essentially replaced by the Nike and the Lacoste shoes.
  15. Empire State of Mind - Jay-Z feat. Alicia Keys
  16. Stereo Systems

About the iPod docks: with the parties that I've been to the host usually has an auxiliary cable that hooks up to a receiver. Much better than an iPod dock and better sound quality (relatively speaking, as the iPod doesn't have very good sound quality to begin with).
  17. Getting a New Laptop Soon

The Asus N61JQ-A1 has the same features as the Dell Studio XPS 16 for less money. The only thing it doesn't have is a Blu-Ray player, but it does support USB 3.0.

At any rate, yeah, you do need to know what you're doing when custom building a computer, but that's what research is for. I spent months researching parts for my current computer and also waiting for a good sale. There's also no point in being loyal to Intel or AMD as each has their strengths and weaknesses. You buy whatever suits your needs and budget.
  20. Building a new desktop computer...

If you're still looking to shave a little more money off your system, you can spend less on a decent quality case such as the Antec 300 which sits at around $50-$60 or maybe a less expensive monitor? At any rate, this system should handle modern video games with ease and even has room to grow!
  21. Building a new desktop computer...

Are you positive that you want a 6-core processor? Gaming-wise you wouldn't notice a difference from a less expensive (but still very good!) quad-core such as a 955BE or 965BE. For the motherboard, you can get a gigabyte 890FXA-UD5, which has the same features as the UD7 except the UD5 is shorter, less expensive, and *only* supports 3-way CrossfireX as opposed to 4-way. When in doubt, look through Tom's Hardware forums.
  22. When I was in Grade 3 things were?

When I was starting Grade 3, it was 1998, which means my sister was listening to Backstreet Boys and Spice Girls and Pokemon was just beginning to catch on. My school eventually banned Pokemon cards like they did with Pogs. Ah yes, this was also the year I had a soccer ball fly into my face, which gave me a fear of soccer balls for the next 5-6 years. Ahh elementary school..
  23. 2010 Winter Olympic & Paralympic Games

http://www.ctvolympics.ca/luge/news/newsid=39315.html#georgian+luger+life+threatening+crash A serious accident at the Whistler Sliding Centre just now... from what I saw from the video footage, it doesn't look hopeful...
  24. Show us your airport!

looks good! and page flip bug again...
  25. Haiti rocked by magnitude 7.0 earthquake

Four Canadians have been confirmed killed by the quake, including an RCMP officer, and several UN workers have been killed with many more trapped or unaccounted for.
