You need to download some dependencies, such as textures or custom lots. The thing you downloaded will not show correctly without them. Tell us what it is that you downloaded and we can help more. -

3 Sears Towers? lol. Plopping is tedious but I think much more realistic, sims don't know how to build realistically any more than they know the correct path to get to work. -
Yes, use these shortcuts...they are a big headache prevention method! I like to lay the roads first though, it give much more flexibility.

That would be cool Oxygenwaster201. I'd like to have more military options in general. I know there are a lot of BATs out there for this, but it would be cool to make a "war city" or like a WWII style city. -

I rarely put industry in my cities. I only put it in if it makes the city more realistic, such as industrial corridors or around the airport or something.

You need to FORCE the sims to use anything. Cut off road routes, use traffic blocking plugins, put transit everywhere...they will be forced to use it.
