Might be a bit late, but perhaps some of you may find it useful: My configuration: Core 2 Duo 2.66 GHz GeForce 260 TOP 4 GB RAM Microsoft Windows Vista x64 Sim City 4 Rush Hour with the latest patch is unplayable. It lags horribly, especially when side scrolling. However, I managed to minimize, if not resolve, my lag issues by switching over to software rendering mode. Fortunately, Sim City is amongst the few games available today that utilises multiple cores efficiently, so the experienced lag is minimal, especially for those of you with quad cores. When you switch over to software rendering, Sim City will autmatically turn off shadows and automata, but that can easily be turned back on via the options menu.

This is the coolest thing I have seen thus far! Finally a worthy competitor to Sim City in the making! I can't wait to get my hands on this game.

Hey! I've recently downloaded the latest version of NAM (I think it's april 2008). My city is not nearly abandoned, and my industries production has stalled. Yes, I use additional plugins. In order to make sure it wasn't a plugin conflict, I temporarily moved all plugins except the NAM outside the plugins folder. The issues persisted. I tried without NAM, and I didn't have the same issues. 1) My sims don't use the railroad or the monorail. They do use the subway and road systems to excess, however. 2) The industries complains about inconvenient/long freight routes, despite the fact the plant is situated right next to a highway and freight station (railroad). Again, the railroad system isn't used. 3) The traffic lights is always at green, and the railroad bars is always closed. This makes car driving immensely difficult - not to mention "debugging" inefficient routes. 4) When you drive underneath certain overpasses (like monorail over road), you actually drive over grass - at least the vehicle reacts as if you do so. I have utilised the new neat features (such as high mono rail) in my region, and I would highly appreciate if these issues were resolved as soon as possible. Right now, I refrain from playing Sim City in fear that I might destroy not only my main city, but the entire region. Regardless, I'd like to say that I appreciate the time and effort you put into this. You have greatly enhanced the mechanics of Sim City! Thanks, Zanathel

Hey, I made a donation this sunday. I haven't received a confirmation that you have received it though, so I'm starting to worry. What is the state of things? I generously donated $40.
