I enjoy being told what I should think. Very endearing. It's your opinion, great. Be careful; it is more dangerous when the horse you fall from is a high horse. The game has some glitches, ok, who cares. The launch date is an arbitrary time. If the game isn't ready completely, that's a shame, but it's still a cool game. I played it for hours last night. Only got four hours of sleep. I enjoy it, so no, I'm not gonna "speak out" etc. You are perfectly welcome to do so. It doesn't matter to me what others' opinions are or what they do. -

A) It is a new, standalone game, not in any way related to SC4 B) There is no white paper, the business plan is still being developed. C) It's not, at this point, a kickstarter game. Responding to the car conversation earlier, just wanted to mention that my dad has almost 320,000 miles on his 2004 Chevy Impala and it's still running fine. He is mainly a highway, not city driver, which has contributed to the longevity undoubtedly. You can keep a modern car for quite a while (measured in miles) if you treat it right, with preventative maintenance and cautious driving.

One thing I thought was ridiculous was how cheap the hourly cost of some great works were. I think the arcology cost like $350/hr. Really? Adding a shuttle bus cost me $100/hr. Within about 45 minutes of playing the game, and with a population of 19,000+, I was making over $15,000/hr. An arcology is supposed to be a regional effort but the city I built in the beta could support over 45 of them.

I'm just saying, when SC4 came out, it had many flaws as well. Over time, many were fixed. -

Perhaps it is helpful to think of it this way. SC2013 is the first version of a 1:1 simulation, something that SC2K, SC3K, and SC4 were not. SC2013 is a true simulation (we've been told). Maybe the next version to come out will be a little more advanced, and so on. And let's not forget that it may be more moddable, so we may be able to do great things with it on our own, not to mention there may be expansions and patches which advance the game as well. -
The other factor is resources - they are mapped into the region as well (a video showed a layer of coal being created underground) - which could complicate the region creation process, especially depending on how many resources the game has.

1. Slide 13 shows the "mustardFactory" rule. Interestingly, it shows [code] unitRule mustardFactory -rate 10 -global Simoleans in 1 etc, etc [/code] So, I'm wondering if the operation of growable lots costs your city treasury? That's what it seems....costing one global simolean for each operation of the rule... 2. Slide 19 shows examples of paths, and includes flight paths...so its possible you can increase efficiency of your airports by deciding where your planes fly...a far cry from SC4 where airports merely added some CS/CO demand. 3. Slide 22 shows that even when zoned, houses won't automatically develop in forested areas (thus destroying a valuable resource). This means that your development decisions will be influenced by the terrain in far more real ways than ever before. 4. Slide 27 shows that roads have speed limits. The question is, are they changeable in game as part of mayoral duties? 5. Slide 35 claims "graceful degradation" (which means there won't be a catastrophic loss of functionality) in case of "server issues"...this points to a client based system which enjoys advantages of, but does not rely on, the server. 6. Slide 36 says that the sim won't be "chugging to a halt during disasters." -
The mayor could destroy the city with the Jet Plane, Tank and Attack Chopper and then not save it, which would be somewhat confusing to the good citizens... Dan

Could anyone explain in better detail how to do the door frame and the window frames? When I select Collapse, nothing happens. I would appreciate help with this.
