Oil Trucks Not Delivering to Power Plant
solarscreen replied to bjl707's topic in SimCity (2013) Technical Help Q&A
Delivery trucks are broken. If you get desperate, bulldoze the delivery trucks and replop. They should make one delivery. Sure hope they fix this SOON. -
You must not use mass transit. Any town with 15k will be fine no matter what bugs this game has. Little no effort towns is not where the problems are. I think you mis read....... Where did I say that my cities were having problems..... Uh, Yeah. Right. I didn't say you had problems in your cities. I said you must not use mass transit because if you did and you played for more than 20 minutes, you would have a problem.

Anybody going to purchase the Airships port?
solarscreen replied to infoman96's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
A parsec is a distance, not a time period. This was discussed in the 1970's after the mistake was made in the Star Wars movie. "This has been a Geek Alert." -
Can u incorporate everything in 1 city? Im trying, think its a stage by stage thing thou? Pls read..
solarscreen replied to RichSz's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
It will be VERY difficult without other cities in the region that are linked to that city providing services and people. Then, you might have a chance... -

Oil Trucks Not Delivering to Power Plant
solarscreen replied to bjl707's topic in SimCity (2013) Technical Help Q&A
You have checked the box on the oil plant that says accept global delivery? In cities where I am not mining or drilling, I plop a trade depot and import the oil or coal to ensure I always have some locally available regardless of traffic or delivery bugs. -

Don't want my city to die the 5.0 death!
solarscreen replied to Xr3iracer's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
It seems in order to get more reliability in the regional play, the mass transit systems and the service delivery trucks have been broken. I have been able to build 300k+ cities easily with a combination of proper street design, streetcars, and regional buses. All this has been ruined by the script tweaks in the v5 update. -
Don't want my city to die the 5.0 death!
solarscreen replied to Xr3iracer's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
I'm not sure why some are not having problems but I have built 6 new cities since the patch and visited a dozen of my very successful cities and this patch will kill your cities. I am playing abandoned cities only until these new bugs get fixed. Good luck... -
The airship will only transport a few thousand residents and tourists. It in no way has any ability to fix the problems we now have from the v5 update. I can pull more cars off the streets with 10 park and ride lots.
-
Ok, so I'm not playing any of my cities until the new agent bugs are fixed. - Delivery trucks refuse to deliver more than once per hour - Streetcars are virtually useless now that nobody will ride - Mass transit bug causes city killing traffic - Fires are out of control I was ok playing thru some of the earlier bugs but now, all my efforts are being trashed.

Lots of storage, but oil not pumping because "storage is full"
solarscreen replied to vap5's topic in SimCity (2013) Technical Help Q&A
This seems to be an update v5 problem. I have noticed that all my delivery trucks now come back from a delivery and park in their garage until the next hour, as if all trucks are now limited to one delivery per hour. It is a horrible problem and needs to be fixed asap. -
How large is your region?
solarscreen replied to bjl707's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
I have a 15 city region I am working on and currently have 9 cities up and running. The largest city is @ 500K and the smallest is @ 70K sims. Total population for the region is 1,061,417 and value is 133,037,208. -

Amusment Park DLC $$?
solarscreen replied to ForensicCRAFT's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
It's not just one building - there are main rides, secondary rides, concession stands and seating, as well as a pathway tool. Very nice DLC. $10 in this case seemed appropriate to me and I like it. Here is a screen cap of my first amusement park: https://i.imgur.com/ys2oom4.jpg -

Does anybody else's Sewage Treatment Plant close repeatedly throughout the day?
solarscreen replied to infoman96's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
It depends on the city I am currently working in which plop has the open now closed now open problem but it is all related to an issue hopefully they are going to fix with Update #5 coming out soon. The problem is a worker issue but that's not entirely true. The problem with the workers is that they will work at a different location every day, if they can get to work at all. This problem extends to water, power, workers, students, shoppers, money, services, and everything else in the agent based pathing system used in this game. It's annoying when stuff was working fine and now is closed and killing your city. I use a couple of techniques for building up a cash reserve of about 2 or 3 million simoleons to start my city with and try to have 1 million always on hand so I can just bulldoze and rebuild to solve a lot of these agent bugs. I have a city with about 400K sims in it and just bulk bulldozed half for one day then half for the other day to repopulate with fewer sim bugs. Now it's up over 500K and fewer problems, for awhile. -
Nuclear Meltdown
solarscreen replied to My Name is Pain's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
I have two cities that have been nuked. One was a big thriving city that the stupid lizard trashed, so totally realistic EA, and the other city I setup in the early days to be a power city, thinking that the maxxed out university in another city with region sharing enabled would provide educated workers. WRONG. So, what I did was lots of bulldozing and rebuilding so that ALL ploppables are in the radiation zone and the RCI zones are in the non-radiation areas. I am back to having successful cities although the RCI zones are about only one third of the map. Water stations must use filtration. I have yet to see what 2.0 has done to this convenient arrangement though. Good luck and death to Godzilla! -

Unable to open my city

Same here. I have a large region mostly populated and now the city devoted to oil is unable to open. Annoying to say the least. -
Sewage and Region problems...
solarscreen replied to MoridinUK's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
You must have a lot of open space in your city or you have low density roads. I have one city with over 500,000 Sims and I have a hospital, police precinct, large fire station, nuclear power, schools, colleges, trade depots, an extensive street car system, buses, and 3 recycle centers as well as the water and sewage systems. Slow down and learn how to be efficient with the smaller space you get in this version. I have a new city where residential is only in one quarter of the city and over 50,000 Sims already. It is very different from previous SC games but I have learned new strategies for this version.
