Processor production decrease
cHiCiTycLuE replied to r0ls's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Yea..I agree with the comment above, your education level can be sky high but if they are unskilled and the tech level in the city is low, they will not produce @ the highest level -
Recycling Center Bug & cost effective workaround
cHiCiTycLuE replied to Grendil's topic in SimCity (2013) Technical Help Q&A
I know this will not help those of you with well developed cities with recycling plants... but those ones thats underdeveloped, if your city lacks in schools then there will be no recycling... only educated sims recycle- 32 Replies

Selling services like Sewage, Water, and Electric
cHiCiTycLuE replied to lordcaesar's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
There is nothing special you need to do in the city your trying to sell resources from... you need to load the city you want to sell to, and buy from the regional view.... but doing this means you've claimed more than one city. Having an excess of any resource and trying to sell doesn't mean someone wants to buy, the demand for it has to be there..- 4 Replies

Computer factory profits not adding up, what am I missing?
cHiCiTycLuE replied to Destable's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Convert all you computer factories to produce TV's instead... they go for more than the comps @ 194K per 1K crate and they DO NOT require alloy to produce, which can cut some of your cost. Also, the supply chain has to be completely smooth, meaning trucks/rail/water are working smoothly with no taffic holding them up, dont sell stuff that doesnt bring in that much... like, dont sell processors, produce them... but just use them locally for the tv plants. dont produce plastic, its a cheap resource just import... only use the trade rail/water port to sell, because they move so much more at once on rail or by water PLUS you can add up to 12 trucks with it... if you do have trade depots in various areas, you should cut down to just one and only use it as a storage facility, set every lot to use locally... for the depots make sure that you have the accpet local deliveries unchecked if you dont need that resource to be there and you want it to go directly to the factories.. if your still having problems, i suggest closing all trade ports and depots and then reopening them one by one, lot by lot until you find the problem area. Like have one factory open and provide the resources for it until it seems to run smoothly and then slowly opening the others, giving it time to accept deliveries.. **you only need 1 alloy lot at the rail/water trade port, which holds 100 TONS of alloy, keep any eye on it, if it fills up, stop importing for awhile My rule of thumb... 1 processor plant will cover 2 tv plants with processors / 1 trade port(rail/water fully functional) will cover the resources for 2-3 processor plants and 4-5 tv plants ....remember, you need alloy to produce processors but NO alloy is needed to make TV's, which sell for the most.. OASN: your hourly city budget will always be in the red if your producing tvs/comps, but -50k/hr DOES NOT matter if your pulling in millions per month... my current budget, i'm spending 2mil/day on alloy, 1mil/day on plastic but bringing home 8mil/day on tv's, i'm -46K/hour with the city budget, and i have 37 million in treasury... -
What are TVs and Computers for?
cHiCiTycLuE replied to warrior's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
You guys have to make the connection.... The TV's & Computers change the finance game for your city drastically if you can manage the chain well. Plus they provide ALOT of JOBS!! It is the KEY TO MAJOR INCOME FOR YOUR CITY!!!! I have currently 8 computer factories and 5 processor plants and producing 7-8 MILLION per month. My currently balance in 1 city is 37 Million.... At this point i import everything i need, instead of stripping it from the land or ploping more factory to produce the resources. I import alloy(which cost alot) and plastic to use with the processors for TV factory. My investment sheet shows 2Mill/day on alloy, 1Mill/day on plastic.... but then 8Mill/day on TV's!! See the connection?? no matter how much you importing the TV's sell for more than anything!! ..... AND I DID ALL THIS WITH THE POPULATION UNDER 80K, BIG BUSINESS BRINGS MORE PPL Sell Rates: Plastic - 18K/crate Alloy - 48K/crate Crude Oil - 19K/crate?? Metal - 21K/crate?? Fuel - 25K/crate?? But Electronics!! Processors - 64K/crate Computers - 164K/crate TV's - 194K/crate!! **but there is always a down side, which i've analyzed... a fully operational computer factory cost over 3K/hour, so having like 8 will definately have your hourly income in the negative. I make 7-8mill/month but my hourly is -46K, which still balances it self out to be more lucrative for me to be in the negative by -50K/hour and make Millions... -
Constant need for more residential
cHiCiTycLuE replied to rbeach-uk's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
It will never stop saying that it is a shortage of things... if your adding more commercial/industrial then your gonna have a shortage of workers, if you have alot of residential then you will have a shortage on jobs. The key to everything is to make sure your building on the high density roads and adding high land value parks in like every cluster of RCI. The parks are not just for residential, they raise the land value of everything... which is the road to the shortage solution. Once the land value has risen, over time those initial high value homes will turn into high value condos & apt complex (the closer they are to the commercial sector) which holds thousands at a time and WILL increase you population WITHOUT adding more residential zones!! -
I'm having the same issues.... and if they will not properly trade resources amongst claimed cities, what is suppose to happen when the water drys up in one and can't buy from the other?? If anyone noticed.. when your city reaches a certain level in population, the water is being consumed drastically. If you have a pump with 3-4 modules to sustain that pop level (and grow further), it drys that water area up so fast... which leads me to wonder, what is going to happen when the water is ALL used up??
