Placing of Residential Zones
behedwin replied to behedwin's topic in Cities: Skylines General Discussion
Hm, yes as soon access to offices have been unlocked... it could be possible to just get rid of all old industry and replace with offices (if you have enough educated ppl). Then you get rid of all air polution from the industrial area. -
When reaching further into the game and you get access to High Density Residential Zones. Is it better to remove low density and place high density in it´s place or create new areas for high density. I guess it depens on what i want with my town...

Hospital or Clinic (police/fire aswell)
behedwin posted a topic in Cities: Skylines General Discussion
How does the bigger firestations, hospital and policestations work? Do they just have more cars, faster response time, bigger coverage or do they do something else... When you place your first big station, do you remove small or keep the coverage of the small and make it better with a big? -
Increase LandValue in Industrial sector
behedwin posted a topic in Cities: Skylines General Discussion
How do i increase the land value in the industrial sector of my city? I feels wrong to place parks... is it services like police, hospital and firedepartment? Or other things that should go in the industrial section as "services" to increas their land value? -

i really miss the ability to be creative and build with different styles... -
When i pre-ordered sim city i had for quite some time looked at different trailers and screenshots of the coming game. I had quite high expectations and really wanted it to be good. Dont misunderstand me, the game is quite good and i have played it allot and still do. But it is quite far from what i hoped it to be.... I recently looked at a review of the game "citys in motion 2". This video gave me a feeling of "wow, this is how i wanted sim city to be or look like". Not a raw direct copy, sim city got curved roads, great look etc. But the video show a city after 4 minutes that is like how i want to build in sim city. A large city with a city core, rural areas with work and less density. Now it seems in sim city, all i do is building a city core and then the map is full. I have no room to both have a city core and industrial sections and rural areas. The region is not making my city look like a place that is connected... it is more a big country with city cores in :S here is the video

How to build an overbridge
behedwin replied to ifurkend's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
It works to do it, but it is not a feature. Really sad that it is not an option to build roundabouts, bridges and dig tunnels etc. Just that we can terraform is sad -
Sim City - Tips and Tricks [HD] [1080p]
behedwin replied to Smartguy1669's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
gaaah, feels so silly. I mean, you have 200mil simloans. No matter if you have people in your city or not. How to actually use that kind of money. Does not feel very balanced. And ofc, crazy that you can run the city by removing all people from it. Just have commuters i take it, that come and work and leave.- 30 Replies

Another update and test with a new long road design. This one worked better http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CPxnpAdru00&feature=youtu.be Was done in snadbox mode and quick play.

yes, and a huge problem is that cars cant turn around. So a fire truck starting from one side of the road need to drive to the end of the road and turn around and then go back. A similar design, but with sections where cars can turn around would help.

okey, i have done some testing. Here is a video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1vpeVxVI-WI&feature=youtu.be 1. I noticed quite fast that power, sewage and water had problems traveling the length of the road. Power was not reaching the other end of the road and so on. 2. My garbage trucks where useless since they traveled in a pack slowly picking up one house at a time. They did not spread out in the city and that mean that garbage was piling up. But i had no traffic issues really. All cars where buzzing around at top speed. Only when firetrucks or othe trucks stoped for some reason, some cars could build up behind them.

Hey Thinking about testing this idea for a city. http://prntscr.com/wke3e The idea is that i dont want any intersections.... Maybe i add some to fill gaps when the city grows. But the concept is to have traffic never stop and pretty much just keep going in a straight line all the time. Ill do this with curved roads. Downside is that firetrucks etc might need to travel a long way to be able to reach parts of the map/city. On the picture above the wind is blowing up so industry would be at the top, at the entrance to the city. Then mix residential and commercial in the spiral to the center. Schools, police etc. Will be placed somewhere in the middle of the spiral. So it got equal long to the outer edge and to the inner. Reason i want to try it, is because of the traffic AI. The traffic takes the shortes route always and that makes traffic jam up intersections no matter what road type you use. But if the sims can keep speed up all the time it should be ok. Only thing that worries me is that the end of the spiral will be a massive jam/stop. That the cars cant do a u-turn fast enough. Other option is something like this. http://prntscr.com/wkfnm This have two major intersections. The sims have 4 ways faster go to the areas on the right and left side. Fire, police, school etc would be in the middle at the long road straight down. Thoughts?
