St. Louis County: More municipalities than residents. What county with 1million residents needs 92 local governments? Ask yourself whether a town needs to exist if it has 10 residents (Champ, MO). St. Louis City: Schools are problem that is slowing residential growth. Whatever Morgan Quitno says about St. Louis, it's not nearly as dangerous as the statistics make out. St. Charles: No public transportation (Metro has "too many" minorities using it.) East St. Louis: Where to start? Just about everything is wrong with East. St. Louis. The Newark of the Midwest.

Great Update, Jarno! I haven't been around because my other laptop died, and it's in repair, hopefully a better machine when it comes back. I should be back in full force when my computer comes back from repair. Can't wait for your next update!

I haven't posted at Simtropolis for a month. My other laptop died, and it's repair. It should be a new machine, when it comes back. I haven't really missed much, have I? I eagerly await your next adventure in Eureka, but do take your time. I'm not going anywhere. Unless this machine dies, too.

I haven't been able to follow your CJ, because my other laptop died. I backed up my SC4 region, and I await the return of my machine. A few components (repair folks seem to think the motherboard went) are being replaced (LCD, motherboard, and another part) so the machine will practically be new. I've read back a couple of pages, and I don't appeared to have missed much, and what I missed looks great. Keep it up.

Lots of realism. Comparing Google Earth images, and the representations in SC4 is almost like looking at the same thing. Another great update.

The interconnecting of CJs is making for an exceedingly interesting angle. This a really neat idea. I really like the front page story on the roads. Sort of funny in an odd sort of way. Where did you get the picture for the 'hilly road?'

Government: (US) By 2050, St. Louis City and County would have merged, forming a centralized regional government, with the City of St. Louis as its central point. Over half of the current 91 municipalities will have merged into the City of St. Louis, making St. Louis just below the population of today's Chicago. Measurable increase in the City of St. Louis population, fueled by immigration, as the Central US becomes home to more Hispanics, and Asians. The City of St. Louis population will be around 970,000. St. Louis County population will level off, fall slightly, and rebound to a high of about 1.5 million. Ongoing speculation of a merger will be squelched as the State Legislature creates a special district that merges City and County functions, creating a 'new' old City of St. Louis. Chicago, Cook, and DuPage Counties may create commonwealth of sorts, as Chicago's burgeoning suburbs expand outward... The United States Population will exceed 375 million, fueled by immigration from Latin America, Africa, and Eastern Europe, possibly increased immigration from the Middle East. Media: St. Louis may move up in the DMAs, possibly as high as 12th, depending on immigrant population changes. We will get our first Univision or Telemundo affiliate by 2025. St. Louis will get it's first 24 news channel. HDTV will have been completely entrenched in the mainstream, however the networks will have expanded to Datacasting, in addition to broadcasting ventures. PBS may once again change names, and adopt a more BBC approach to news and entertainment. World: Iran may renounce religion being a central part of government, and move in more secular directions, as clerics die off, and a younger people take their place. The United States share in the world economy will shrink, but will represent at least 25% of the economic force. The ESA, ISA, and NASA will mull over permanment living arrangments on the Moon, and Mars, maybe even one of Jupiter or Saturn's moons. The Japanese economy will have a resurgence, driving the Asian markets, but will fall short of taking over China's economic development. Closer economic ties between two old enemies will drive the economy of Asian beyond Europe and the US. Another devasting tsunami will kill thousands on the Eastern African coast. After Bush leaves office (by impeachment in his last two years of office), the US will apply for admission into the International Criminal Court, and readily agree to the Kyoto Protocol. Conditions in Sudanese Darfur will worsen before measurable improvement occurs. Business: Microsoft and Apple may mull over a combined operating system, allowing for integration of PC and Apple hardware and software, ending almost 30 years of competition between Apple and Microsoft. Dell and Gateway merge to remain competive against HP/Compaq. AT&T (new SBC, AT&T) are broken up again, however the ruling is overturned, over the objections of WorldCom, Verizon, and Charter Commmunications.

It's severely saddening to hear about the problems you are having with SC4. I feel that your interpretation of San Fransisco is the most realistic I've seen. It literally looks just like SF. I hope you are able to sort out the problem.
