Deep Thought's Answer

This is a new region I have been playing with.

Why would you need to start over again? That is the whole point behind regions and cities within the regions. Why not just start a city right next to that one and continue on.

This is a map done with Photoshop and SC4Terraformer. You must have SC4Terraformer to render this map. Unzip the file into a new region and open Terraformer in that region. Click on global tools and navigate to the region folder you just created. Click on the file named wilm_bay.SC4M. Do not touch scale factor and hit ok. After a few moments the program will finish. Now click -> file -> save. Start SC4 and load the new region (do not worry about the odd looking colors as it is suppose to look like that). Open each city and then save back to region. The map is a 1025x1025 map with 16 large cities. -
You need SC4 Terraformer, it can be found here https://www.simtropolis.com/modding/index.cfm?p=details&id=391 You need to unzip the file that I uploaded into a new region folder that you create. Then start the terraformer program and import the SC4M file. Once that is done you can save the region and start SC4 to see the new region.

The opening and saving each city is normal. As for your 2nd problem I am not sure but maybe someone else can fill in the details.

Thank you for your reply, I will try that out but am no confident that I will create something as well as you have. But I will give it the old college try.

I waited a few days to see if anyone was willing to give me some advice, but to no avail. I have tried to use the terraforming tools but getting the mountains to look seamless in region view is rather tedious. I have tried to use the SC4 Terraformer program, but for me I find it difficult to create realistic mountains. Are there any tricks to creating them to look realistic, like the ones I have seen in some of the CJ's? Is there a better way to do it and if so how? I know these question may not have correct answers in that sense but just looking for someone to point me in the right direction.

I have this region I made below, it is rather flat as I am not good at making mountains. Is there a nice way to create realistic mountains? I tried to do some myself but they do not look at all realistic. Any suggestions or advice? Clicking the image shows a bigger version.

Ok will keep checking throughout the day. The funny thing is I received the upload successful message so maybe it got stuck, thanks for replying.

I added two maps yesterday and both still do not appear in the my uploaded files section or in the map area. I did not get the error message and did receive the confirmation message that my upload will appear in the next cycle. Is there something wrong with the STEX or with my files? Is this normal to have them take so long to appear? The files themselves were just the pre-rendered image, the config, and the grayscale.
