SC4 Startup Manager - manage your plugins!
djkronik57 replied to Andreas Roth's topic in SC4 - Custom Content
Love the program, but just a quick question. In one of my regions, when I go to the Edit Region view right under the Edit, Delete, and Rename buttons, it says Corrupt data present. What does this mean? It says nothing in the readme about this. I'll try to get a screenshot next time, but as soon as I unchecked and checked a plugin in the region the message disappeared. -
Thanks for your help! When you say uploaded to BSC, is there a BSC website?

New theory: Abandonment of high-wealth residents
djkronik57 replied to Bones1's topic in SC4 Showcase
I installed the mod, however, when I did, where I used to get R$$ development that did fine, I now only got big ugly R$ buildings. I agree that abandonment is highly related to traffic and traffic noise for residential. Perhaps I should try only the R$$$ mod, but I'd rather solve my traffic issues first. -
Does anyone know how to remove the growable part of a BAT? I have downloaded the Newman Inc. Chemical BAT by citynut ( https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=13829 ) and it has an annoying habit of trying to grow in zoned areas too small for it to fit. I didn't even know it came with a growable lot! All I know is that whenever I hear the plop sound and I didn't plop anything, I have to go hunt it down and destroy it, otherwise I have an annoying blank lot. This happens with a Japanese Liquid Natural Gas terminal lot I have as well. Both of these are large lots, and they seem to try to fit into smaller (4X6 or so) areas, just showing up as the base textures. I've looked in my plugin folder to see if I can identify the growable lots, but they are not labeled. How can I prevent this from happening? Why is it happening if these are only ploppable lots?

I don't get night lights on most of my downloaded buildings for some reason either. I have downloaded the patch from the official website, but still no night lights. I'm assuming some don't come with night lights, but I know some do, and they still don't light up. No idea why.

New tallest for Chicago and the US?
djkronik57 replied to Yellowlab's topic in Architecture & Urban Planning
I agree with ardecila. Chicago is known for its rectangular, utilitarian architechture, this looks so out of place among all the other skyscrapers. Overall, I don't like this new generation of super skyscrapers, they all look like giant spires (or drill bits as others have noted) and look like they have no functional space at all, not to mention they look wimpy and unimposing. Taipei 101 at least has some bulk to it. I'm a traditionalist I suppose. There was a plan similar to this one in Popular Mechanics back in the mid 1990's for Chicago. Never got approved. I doubt this one will either.
