LOL!, pretty funny aint it? Very creative of them
  3. 6underground "Goes Walkies" around South Wales

I have never heard him speak Welsh at all. Most Welsh people, dislike him being given the title of prince of Wales since he has no connection with Wales at all. -------------------------------------------------------------- Update time! Well, i lied, were not heading to Pontypridd quite yet. back to Uni! Remember the big G? I also managed to find a recent map; (as you can see Pixie, Bi-lingualism is all the rage nowadays ;-)) Yeah more campus shots, School of technology is in the far background, the former is the engineering block. Green grass of home and all that.. Have yee seen such a thing? This is the train tunnel i was talking about a while ago, all sealed off at the end of the car-park, whether they'll renovate it, and have underground classrooms is anybody's guess. Buisness slaves..i mean students can be found in this area.. hmmmm food.. The entrance to the gallery and a fitness centre... Yeah lots of classrooms here, go figure.. The building with the Big G, is the main sports centre. A view from the 5th floor, G Block. I tried to get a shot of the morotway from the 5th floor window, but as you can see the windows need a clean! Hall of resdiences in the far background, Buisness centre, and the gallery restaurant. Sports centre and the union shop. the memorial bears the following text; In grateful rememberence of those students from this school who fell in the great war 1914-1919. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The entrance to the underground tunnels, has since been fitted with a lock. No key i'm afraid... But its weird down there. take my word for it. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Treforest/Trefforest (trugh-forest) Treforest is part of Pontypridd, an area of it if you will, its the bit that contains the university and practically all the students, both living on campus and just off it. Outside and across the road from the train station is the pink shop. Some tasy niceties sold here Another great place to get drunk, but his place also offers good food. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Pontypridd (Pont-yee-preeth) yes it is a sign.. Heading into Ponty.. Pontypridd is a very historic site in Wales. this very bank is where the National Anthem was composed. Outside the local Job Centre... Pontypridd Railway Station. Valley Lines train in the background; Local Market; Pontypridd Bus Station; Pontypridd Museum, and Pontypridd bridge; River Taff; Proving that classic red telephone boxes are still in use; I like this, its nice and celtic... This concludes our tour of the University, Treforest and Pontypridd. The Next Update will either be my hometown Newport (Casnewydd) or Cardiff (Caerdydd), the Welsh Capital.
  4. 6underground "Goes Walkies" around South Wales

Someone over at simcitycentral mentioned the use of bilingual translations on signs, it thought some of the following info would be interesting.. Yep practically everything, Not just University stuff, as you'll see in future updates. Up Until the 1960's Welsh was looked down upon by the British Government. Far Back in history it was even banned, school children who refused to learn English, were forced to wear the infamous Welsh Not a piece of rope, attached to a small piece of wood, that bore the word NIL. In other words, if you wanted to be educated at all, you were forced to learn English. Further it was impossible and at one stage illegal (see: Act Of union 1536 and the infamous Welsh Not .)

Legal age to drink is 18 years old. When i went to the states on exchange at 20 i had quite the shock, but i managed to get alcohol never-the-less. Not that i didnt respect the U.S law, but ive had alcohol since like 16 years old. which is pretty much the norm. You just dont let it go to your head and act like an idiot.
  7. 6underground "Goes Walkies" around South Wales

Yep Alcohol is served on campus, which is different from American univerity's i know. Actually the teching language is English, but alot of Welch people are Bilingual speaking both English and Welsh/Cymreag

  12. San Portello By Nealos101

Excellent update, nice to see you diagonalised (is that a word) the roads in the first pic, which really addy variety to an otherwise boring picture, and the seafront with the piers, very scenic. But i think my favourit of this update has to be the most unsurprising (for me anyhow), the last picture, the traffic on the highway, its nice to see highways that look busy in city journals. Nice job
  13. Place de lHomme de Fer

Very nice would be an understatement
  14. San Portello By Nealos101

I'll be awaiting that frontpage, thanks for letting me see your transportation map i like it, but don't be scared to use diagonal layouts, but i love that freeway/highway/morotway near the coast, how very scenic, and the way the same style of house are positoned along those streets is very cool, if not time consuming i bet, ive had trouble with those before Keep up the excellent work Your Truly ----Mayor Of New Rhodesia----- Rhodesia Newydd Dinas

  20. Suggestions on possible grid layout for my city.

Couldnt have put it better myself Garfidude (Throws him a Welsh flag) , In my City Journal, i tend to avoid using grids all over the place, as with many other CJ's here we tend to mix up the gridded and the ungridded together too offer vairety, and it beats the basic humdrum. my best advice is to go slowly, zone low desnity until your raking in the dough, spread out before you plan to build vertically. Give it sometime, and it'll work out very nicely for you. Hope that helped. ----Mayor of New Rhodesia----
  21. franzs new bat projects

Looking good! I'll check in again soon to see it's progress.. very best of luck buddy
  22. San Portello By Nealos101

I love your sense of humour in this city Journal, and presentation is completely above board! Ver well done. Cannot see wh people havent commented so much, your Journal is almost a masterpiece, there are some niggly bits that need to be ironed out though, like those sea walls, in some pictures they jut out and ruin the picture , not your fault i know, but keep an eye out for it.
  23. Atlantis

Hey, nice map so far, but yes, you need to do a little more research. according to Plato's timeas and crieas (sp), there should be five rings, with a small mountain chain on the fifth (the outer). Otherwise, this is very good. well done!
  24. Montrealscape

What a nice start, hope too see some city shots soon, i especially like the fact you haven't neglected the coastlines, ver realistic in that respect..
  25. M
