  1. [Solved] Garbage Exporting Maxed Out?

Solved. I added six more Waste to Energy plants and put a big garbage landfill square in the "host" city. This allowed the city that was previously capped at 808 to export as much as 2,000. Thanks for all your help. NOTE: The purpose of this reply was for anyone who might come across this post from a Google search. I like to press any topic I create until it is solved.
  2. 1. Thanks for the tip about Waterfox. I'll be sure to check it out. 2. Both me and Compdude787 tried the IE11 Compatibility Mode, but it didn't work for either of us. I can even prove it with screenshots, or a FRAPS video. I guess it's all in the hands of the software vendor now, eh? Oops, sorry.
  3. I didn't say IE is NSA-proof. I simply said they weren't in cohorts with the NSA by putting intentional security flaws in their software with a list that was sent to the NSA to exploit (like what Google Chrome did). I don't take anything for granted as well. I do question everything myself. Sure their current business decisions seem moronic, but they hold a 90% market share for a reason. And that's not because they're morons. I've dropped Opera since they've dropped their Presto engine (the best in browser history). I've thought about using Firefox, but I'm angry at their refusal to support native x64 bit. I mean come on, it's 2014. Opera, Chrome, and IE have native x64 bit support! What, FireFox ain't good enough for it? Yes, others have pointed out that Simtropolis uses 3rd party forum software. But I'm hoping some of the admins at least drop an email to the vendors or something. Anyways, I'm proficient enough in HTML to continue using IE. But still, it's a pain in the rear to do all my forum posts in HTML. Don't believe me? Try it yourself. CLAM anti-virus isn't very good. I know, because it used to come bundled with Sypware Terminator (another terrible free anti-malware software). I've dropped all my "free" anti-virus programs for Bitdefender Internet Security back in 2011. Currently, Bitdefender is the #1 anti-virus software out there (according to AV-Test and AV-Comparatives). Again, Varnish Firewall is up there with CLAM anti-virus. Just not very good. Is open source security even lab tested? As far as host snooping on your email, just encrypt your emails. Problem solved. And being vulnerable to SPAM and phishing is a matter of how careless you are with your email address. I've used my Yahoo email since 2004, and I get like 3 spam emails a week (if that). And yes, Yahoo is currently still my email provider. They've been my sole provider ever. I've not used anyone else. Though, yes, I know in July of last year they changed their private policy on snooping your emails. My relationship with my ISP is pure, unadulterated, hatred. That's because I'm forced to use Charter, rated America's #1 worst ISP three years in a row now. They also used to be #3 in the Top 10 Most hated Companies in Amerca. I find it funny that Electronic Arts is curretly #1, and that's with Bank of America being #2 (for a long time, Bank of America held the longest record of being in the #1 spot). As an American, I do expect my Constitutional privacy, thank you very much. If Congress don't like it, we'll just vote them out of office. The advantage I still have using the internet is encryption. For example, you can't encrypt a phone call. He who would sacrifice Freedom for security deserve neither. -Benjamin Franklin
  4. Depends who you're rebelling against. Outside if IE, you got your choice of NSA Chrome or FBIfox. Currently, Chrome is the NSA's favorite browser being the #1 browser with intentional security flaws for the NSA to exploit according to the Snowden reports. FireFox's vulnerabilities are not intentional, but they are gaping enough to make national news (not to mention Snowden's list). Some might try to point out IE just had a security fiasco, but that's pretty uncommon. IE is what the majoriy of businesses use. Not to mention it's closed source. You can't just spy for vulnerabilities in the source. In fact, in the wake of the Snowden leaks, Microsoft created the "Scroogled Project", pointing out Internet Explorer was the only browser not explicitly mentioned to being in cohorts with the NSA. As far as the problems, what's unusable about Simtropolis in regards to Internet Explorer 11 is the forum editor. You can't change the font, quote other posts, post links in your posts, post pictures in your posts, copy or paste, use bold, underline or italics, or practically ANYTHING! Thank goodness I took HTML in High School. I know it's probably not a fault from my end, unless you call using Internet Explorer a "fault". I just reformated my entire hard drive (I do this once a year, helps keep your PC running like new ), so my install of Internet Explorer is completely fresh. And I did not have this problem using Internet Explorer 9 or 10. Another site I was also having problems with was Yahoo. In their front page news section, whenever I tried to press the arrows to show more stories, the entire News section would go blank (It would literally just turn into white space). I emailed Yahoo about it, and they said they got a lot of complaints about this, and we could expect the problem to be fixed within about a week (understand this was back when IE 11 first came out). It has been fixed, but I've still had this same problem with Simtropolis ever since IE 11 came out. That's how I deduced the problem was on the server side. Also, I don't know if this is notable, but I run a x64 bit system. I wonder if other people who have been having problems with Simtropolis also run a x64 bit system? That could be the common denominator, but we may never find out.
  5. Right now Simtropolis is practically unusable for us Internet Explorer users. As I'm typing this right now, I'm actually using the HTML editor. The regular editor does not work with Internet Explorer 11. And I know I'm going to get replies like, "Just use another browser", or "Who uses Internet Explorer anyways?". Well, the answer is alot of people. Currently, Internet Explorer is the #1 used browser in North America boasting a heafty 58% of the market share. Worldwide, Internet Explorer boasts approximately a 54% market share. So essentially, the Admins of Simtropolis should assume that at least half of their users are having problems with the website, and should fix those problems.
  6. [Solved] Garbage Exporting Maxed Out?

BIG time yes. I'm maxed out at 808 tons a month, and I'm starting to get piles of garbage in my city. Esspecially around big polluters such as ID and The University (yeah, I never understood that one). I don't necessarily want to mod the exemplars. I mean, how far do you go with modding? Why don't I just mod crime to zero? Problem solved! And while I'm at it, why not mod a Super Fire Station with the ability to decrease flamibility to zero for the entire map! Or better yet, solve my garbage problem by modding the Wasted to Energy plant with a 10,000,000 ton capacity! With modding, you draw a fine line between ruining the game and giving yourself an extra boost. Well, I will be experimenting with some of the suggestions listed above. If anyone has any more suggestions, feel free to post.
  7. Bosham Church

This is definitely the WORST mod on the entire ST/EX. First of all, you didn't post links to the dependencies. That means we have to try to find them. Second off all, you posted the dependency file names, not what the upload names were. This means it's physically impossible to find. Essentially, this mod is BROKEN. It is impossible to get it to work properly. It deserves a 1 star, and not anything higher.
  8. All right, so I got this city that's has a neighborhood deal for exporting garbage. I got it up to 808, but I can't seem to increase this number. I know it's not because of money, because I've got plenty of that. I also know it's not because of space, because the collection city has empty landfill squares, as well as an entire empty Waste to Energy plant (in a given month, it burns about 23 tons of garbage). So what gives? Why can't I export more garbage? I'm starting to get "red zones" (both garbage wise and desirability wise), and I don't exactly want to place landfills or Waste to Energy plants in this city either. Anyone knows why this happens? Thanks!
  9. I am always intrigued :E

I can say that I have achieved that and can make such a city easily. What I am trying these days is to build such mind blowing cities with beautiful aesthetics. Then you're definately going to need some mods. First of all, I'd recommend getting the NAM (Network Addon Mod). You can grab that That will cover all your roads, rails, and other transportation needs (including aethetics). Though, you're going to want to select the "Custom" install option. Pay attention to each option carefully. There are different aethetics options for your different needs (e.g. German road markings, British details, left hand drive, etc.). Also, I'd start with selecting the Ultra road capacity right off the bat. Also max out the Mass Transit capacity multiplier. This will be a lifesaver for when your cities' population tops 100,000, and besides you're going for mind blowing cities with beautiful aethetics, not necessarily traffic realism. Also, you can't go wrong with you can now place Bus Stops, Subway Stations on the roads themselves! This saves space, and is more realistic. READ THE README CAREFULLY! This mod is slightly harder to install than most.). Some other cool aesthetic mods are: Treble Plaza () Back River Wastewater Treatment Plant () McDonald's (one of, if not the BEST McDonald's model on the entire ST/EX: https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=11053) The McDonald's Factory (The shame of your city ) Arby's () Church's Chicken () Amsterdam Westerkerk (Actually, just search "church" on the ST/EX to find a ton of well done Cathedrals and Churches: ) And finally, because Dr. Vu is such a bad@$$, a few buildings featuring his namesake: Vu Security Services () Vu Research (a Disease Research Center Reward building similar to the Maxis one...except way cooler! ) Vu Laboratories () So yeah, just search the ST/EX and don't be afraid to try new mods. Need any help, feel free to post again.
  10. Police Station (Hck)

Oh yes there IS dependencies. I "right click>Cut" all of my mods in the Pluggins folder (with the exception of the police station hck), and ran the game. Yup, brown boxes. Then, I pasted all my mods back in. Looks normal. Now, I don't exactly have time to go through each and every file to see which one is exactly the dependency. Not to mention that's kinda your job as well. So if you could please fix this, that would be great.
  11. Solved! Here's what you do 1. Download Ilives Reader from SourceForge. 2. Use it to open SimCity1.dat 3. Click on any Examplar that comes up in the new window. 4. Click the Navagator button (the one with the binoculars on it). 5. In this new window, scroll down to Rewards. Click the "+" sign. Click the "+" sign in front of "Buildings". 6. Scroll down to "RW64x64_Casino_033A" and click it. A list should now appear on the right side of the Navigator. 7. Scroll down until you see a property called "City Exclusion Group". Right click it, and then select "Delete Property". 8. Then right click "RW64x64_Casino_033A" and click "Add to patch". You can now close out the Navigator, we're done with it. 9. On the main program window, click the "Patch manager" buttion (the one with the camera on it). 10. You should see the Casino property added. Click the "Create DAT" button. Then save the file as "Whatever you want to name it" and make sure you place it in your C:\Users\<your username>\Documents\SimCity 4\Pluggins folder. Congrats. You should now be able to make that Vegas Strip in your own SimCity Game. NOTE: If you are indeed going to create the Vegas Strip, you might want to plop Trust me, the Crime Effect will skyrocket if you don't!
  12. [Solved] Unlimited Casinos Mod or Cheat?

Oh I fully realize it's bad form. The problem is we reach a catch-22 in this situation. See, as I mentioned at the begining of my other post (in the Modding Section), I didn't know this post would devolve into a "How to I mod this?" sort of question. So if I continued posting here, I would be told I was doing something wrong. If I started a new post, I would be told I was doing something wrong. No matter what I did, I breached etiquette! So I went big and did both at the same time. But it's all good. My question was answered thanks to help from paeng and APSMS.
  13. [Solved] Unlimited Casinos Mod or Cheat?

I wish I could be having fun with my strip, but so far I haven't got much help on how to mod rewards. And yes, I kinda expected this. I realize SimCity 4's modding community is dead. =================================================================EDIT============================================================= Just tested it out now. The above method seems to work. No detectable bugs as of yet. Hooray! Now that I can build casino towns in SimCity 4, I won't have to buy SimCity 2013!
  14. [Solved] Unlimited Casinos Mod or Cheat?

Yes, those are reserved for growable RCIs. Esspecially since having one reward per city is coded into the object itself (specifically, the CityExclusionGroup code in the reward's/casino's exemplar). That's why paeng suggested creating a modded copy of the Casino exemplar, and deleting the property CityExclusionGroup from the mod's .DAT file entirely. The problem is, he suggested some weird "Z_Prefix" thing that I don't know how to do (and he hasn't replied yet with an explanation on how to do it ). So what I was wondering is if this would work: 1. Use Ilive's Reader to get to the Casino Exemplar in the SimCity1.DAT file. 2. Delete the property "CityExclusionGroup". 3. Click "Add to Patch". 4. Use the Patch Manager to create a mod .DAT file. 5. Place it in My Documents>SimCity 4>Pluggins folder. So can you (or anyone) confirm if this would work? Or would I just be opening a can of worms? Thank you for your help! NOTE: It's not that I "need" to plop "tons of the same reward". It's just that I want to create kind of a "Casino Area" in one of my towns. You know, for looks; kinda like a "Las Vegas". I know there are Landmark casinos here on the Exchange, but those aren't necessarily coded the same way (for example, they'll give you, like, $25,000 and they either weaken or eliminate the "crime effect").
  15. Here's a couple screenshots of what I got so far: First of all, here are my tallest Residential Buildings, The Bell Towers: Here is a picture of them in context, so you can see just how much they tower over the rest of the buildings nearby: Yeah yeah yeah, I know my economy's in bad shape. Anyways, as you can see by this next pic, they are rich (R$$$): And if you think the Bell Towers are tall, just wait until you see my Commecial Building. It's 1.5x taller than even the Bell Towers! And again, it don't come cheap. This also is a R$$$ building: So there you have it. As you can see, all my buildings are Watered and Powered. They are also R$$$. My Demand Caps are also very much kept in check (as you can see, Residential is at 3%, 14%, and 12% for R$, R$$, and R$$$ respectively; and Commercial is at 0% and 5% for CO$$ and CO$$$ respectively). So I hope this gave you something to look foward too. Who knows, maybe you even have gotten to this stage. Either way, hope I'm helping.
