Don't worry Mikeaut, the wait won't be too long. However, updates will be slowing down. I'm doing less and less SC4-related things, such as Simtropolis, then I already have been. I devote more time to my maps now. Still, this CJ will continue.

Sticksboi: Thanks for editing your post. Amryai: Thanks for the compliments, and you're right. It was a big misunderstanding, we can put it behind us now. Sloppet: Thanks for the compliments on my CJ.
-
Sticksboi05: I've been plagirzed from before. Maybe I'm paranoid. But: 1. I DID NOT SAY THAT YOU PLAGIRIZED, I WAS ONLY SUSPICIOUS. 2. Why can't you send me a PM about it, huh?

Looking amazing as usual. Anfalas is coming along great; the mayor's house is a really nice touch, and those seaports are excellent. I don't stop by here as much as I should, because this is one of the best City Journals out there. Amazing work Darmok.

Congrats to you both, I can't think of anyone else who deserves it more! Great job. -
Actually, Big_Baazoo and YAH haven't posted here yet. I know that YAH is still around, but BB seems to be gone. He hasn't posted since 4/23/05. They have both participated, just not in a little while. I think YAH will come out with another map in time, and as for BB, I have no idea at this point.

Simworld: Thanks. I can't do it sooner, though, so you'll have to wait. Darmok: Thanks for the compliments, it's great to hear from you. It's fine if you haven't posted in a while; I don't reply in your CJ or others nearly as much as I should, but come summer I'll definately find the time to do so. SA: Thanks, but those signs are there on purpose, because I didn't have the time or feel like editing those pictures. This is my quote is from the update: Here is an overview picture of Great Bend, showing most of the town's important places. I don't expect you to read the stuff I put in the updates, I'm just pointing that out. To All: I'm busy with a lot of other things, but don't worry, the southern expansion should be ready to show within a week (Its terrain, at least).

Graafsticht ... my vision on how a city should look

How could I have missed this? That last update is amazing, great job. This is a great, newer CJ, and the Dutch style is really cool. Excellent work. -
Thanks for the compliments, RHF. I hate to make everyone wait for the southern expansion, but it'll come, don't worry. Even though I've been talking about it since Februrary or March, right now is the closest I've gotten to actually expanding the region yet. Be on the lookout this weekend, when I should have the southern area's terrain ready to show here.

Cool, I'm a bi-annuarian now. I didn't realize that so few of us are still active. Only 25, including me.

Luckily, I have the time to reply to each comment right now. RHF: Thanks for the compliments. I take a lot of pride in Great Bend, so I'm really glad you like it. Don't worry about not commenting sooner; you've supported this CJ so much that I will always be in debt to you. dhoppe: Thanks for the compliments. It's great to hear you liked the history- it took me a long time to write. Simworld: Thanks for the compliments. Amryai: Thanks, and I'm really glad you like the history and historic district. amal81: Thanks. I don't use streets for a few of reasons: 1. There are no fully functional diagonal streets. 2. They don't have as much traffic capacity as roads, and having them would really hurt my commute times. 3. They don't show up in the regional transportation view. And no, I don't use the NAM. To All: There should be an update by Saturday. Look out for that southern expansion.

Thanks for the compliments everyone, as always they are appreciated. I plan on working on the southern expansion now. There may not be an update until the week's end. We'll see.

hobostank: I guess you're talking about the start of the CJ, which was last July, and it looks like you joined last September, so I don't know what you mean. Thanks for the compliments though. To All: I could hardly beleive that there was only one comment after that update, but oh well. I'll let everyone have more time to view the update as I prepare for the next update. The next update should come by Wednesday. The southern expansion will be underway soon. I know it keeps getting delayed, but beleive me, I'm excited to make this region larger.

Thanks simworld. To All: ImageShack is working again, so I can post the big Great Bend update. Sit back, relax, and enjoy what I think is a very enjoyable update. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ This rather small town on the Pinewood has a lot going for it Great Bend, a town with a population of 16,827, is one of the most ofently visited towns in the region. GREAT BEND'S HISTORY The main reason for its popularity is its history. Great Bend was first settled by the British in 1677. Prior to that, Native Americans had forts in the area. The colonists built their own fort, Fort Pinewood, in the present-day location of Great Bend on the south banks of the Pinewood River. The towns of Pinewood, East Pinewood, South Pinewood, North Pinewood, and Pinewood Flats, the Pinewood River, Pinewood State Forest and Pinewood County are just a few of the places that were also given the name Pinewood. Great Bend was founded in 1765. During the American Revolution, the town was the site of a key base for the Americans. After the war, Great Bend thrived as a commercial center in the area, before Ocean Point really took of as a resort city along the coast. Today, 124 historical structures still stand in Great Bend, making it one of the largest historical districts in the area. GREAT BEND TODAY Great Bend continues to thrive as a historical landmark, and it is also a high-priced town where many wealthy sims reside. It also has a large, thriving high-tech industrial park, which provides the reigion with many jobs. I-31 runs east/west across Great Bend. I-68 goes through the northeastern corner of the town. Route 99 runs along the south banks of the Pinewood River, and Route 34 meets Route 99 in downtown Great Bend. Here is an overview picture of Great Bend, showing most of the town's important places. Here is an overview of downtown Great Bend: Part of Great Bend's Historical District: The eastern part of the Historical District: Some ritzy residential towers in Great Bend, most of them about 7 stories tall: Northstone Bridge in northwestern Great Bend (The road is North Pinewood Ave.): The Pinewood River Preserve along the Pinewood River: South Industrial Park in southeastern Great Bend: Last but not least, the West Ferry Station: I hope everyone enjoyed the update.

Thanks for the compliments everyone. I have made a large update for Great Bend, with nine pictures. However, Imageshack isn't working for some reason. So, the update will be delayed. It will be an awesome update, though.

The Canyonlands is a ficticious place set in the southwestern U.S. Alarge river flows through the desert and carves a magnificent canyonout of the sandstone. Other smaller rivers, streams, and creeks flowinto the large river, each of them carving out canyons of varyingsizes. Some mountains are located to the north of the large canyon, with some smaller mesas and other hilly terrain located in other partsof the map, although there is lots of flat land to build on as well. This map was originally a DEM of the eastern part of the Grand Canyon, located in Arizona, but I have modified extensively to make an evenmore interesting, SC4-playable map for all to enjoy. The region is24x24 km (1537x1537 pixels) in size, which is a little bit larger thanthe average map. The region is shown in the picture with the "THL Terrain Pack ver.2.3", using the "Reddish Scrubby Desert" terrain. This file can befound on the STEX. -
I'm here, just a bit busy and I haven't been around all that much lately. My next map will probably be released tomorrow, as a matter of fact. It's good to see we have at least four active members, which I think is a good amount.

RHF: Thanks for the compliments. trixin: Thanks, but I don't know what you mean by that, though. These roads are realistic, and that's all there is to it. To All: I plan on developing Pinwewood Flats soon. By developing that area, the regional sprawl will look very realistic and accurate. That is the only thing I have to do before I make the southern expansion.

Thanks for the compliments, dhoppeii and simworld. I've made two updates in less than two days, so I don't plan on having another one for at least a couple of days. It appears that very few viewers have even seen these updates yet, because there have only been three replies. I'm going to give it some more time. The southern expansion should come soon. It will be good.

Woah, King, you've gone crazy! This stuff is just plain amazing. I haven't been around much recently, so it was nice to come back and see how this has really taken off. It definately ranks up there as one of the most realistic regions I've seen in a long time. Great job, this really is the good stuff.

oroen: Thanks for the compliments. You're right, the hurricane stuff was a lot, and I needed a break from it. The updates should be more frequent now. To All: Here is the next update, covering Baytown. There has also been a lot of work recently in the old town on Marshland Bay, and this has improved the look of the town greatly. Baytown, which has been an important commercial area for over 300 years, when it was first settled, has the fourth largest downtown area in the region. Ocean Point has the largest, followed by South Inlet, then North Beach, and then Baytown. Baytown's downtown is clustered on or around Great Bend Road, which leads west to the town of Great Bend. It is also near Route 19, a major route that leads from Ocean Point to East Bayville, Baytown, Marshland, and West Bay before exiting the region at its northern border. Here is what downtown Baytown looked like before the changes occured: This is what the same area looked after the changes were made: Many of the town's roads were improved, and some useless roads running right next to Route 19 were taken out and the land was used for further development. A statue to the founder of Baytown is now located at the northern end of Great Bend Rd., which ends on Marshland Ave. It replaces the old, unsightly, and traffic-unfriendly circle that was in place at the end of Great Bend Rd. before the changes were made. Here is a close-up picture of downtown Baytown. There are still plans on the table to fix some of the roads in downtown, such as the diagonal road, which is called North Port Street. Here is a close-up picture of the new ending of Great Bend Rd. The changes have been received very well by the local residents. West Baytown, a section of Baytown Township, is one of the nicer parts of the town. It is located near Great Bend Rd., and between I-31 and I-68, giving this area great transportation to Ocean Point. Here is a close-up of Route 19 in Baytown: Finally, here is the Baytown Ferry Station, located on Marshland Bay. This is a newly built station, as the old station was destroyed by the Great Ocean Point Hurricane.

There's been some work on the town of Marshland, which needed a bit of revitilization. The results have been great, and the historic town founded almost three hundred years ago on the Marshland Neck is much better looking than it used to be. One of the main projects that was done in downtown Marshland was to straighten out and improve State Route 82 (Bay Cove Turnpike), which is the east/west avenue in these pictures. Also, the roads that were built right along SR 82 were taken out and the land was used for more commercial development in the town. Other projects included demolishing the abandoned farms, which were becoming overgrown with trees already, to let the fields grown back to forest, and the construction of a community college and a library. Here is the picture of downtown Marshland before the revitilization project began: After the revitilization project, this is what downtown Marshland looked like. This is what the town looks like currently. All of the historic houses have been restored near the bay, keeping the town's historic district in great condition. In fact, it's better than it ever has been. Here is a picture of the Marshland Bayfront:

Sorry for not commenting earlier, I haven't been around much recently. This looks great! The town looks really nice so far, and the text in the updates is great to read. I can't wait for more updates, this is some of the best new stuff out there. Great job.
