Apocalyptic Movies
The boy formerly known as Evil Muzz replied to slimbox's topic in General Off-Topic
Can't believe no one has mentioned it yet, but "Children of Men" is an incredible film. And it's deffinently apocalyptic, does it get any more so than the fact that women are infertile? Clive Owen is quite easily the best actor to come out of the UK for more than a good ten years, and I loved the storyline. No spoilers, don't worry. For anyone who doesn't know, it's set in Britian in 2027, the rest of the world appears to have descended into chaos and wars, we see this via a small propaganda clip, most noticably showing a mushroom cloud rising over New York City, ending with the words "Only Britain Soldiers On". Being the only established country left on the planet, refugees are desperate to get in, and those who get in illegally are rounded up, put in cages, and it is hinted that they go before firing squads. On top of this, women have become infertile (for some reason, maybe caused by or the cause of this global chaos), and the news everyone is mourning over about is the death of the worlds youngest person, 18 years old. It looks very much like, unless a solution is found, humans will become extinct within fifty years. I love the way the film is shot, it's known for it's lengthy takes and scenes, including one towards the end that lasts around five minutes; all one take, all one camera. It explores human nature, and how we, and governments act when faced with such problems right on our doorstep. Amazing film, everyone has to see it. -

This has been dead for well over a year, please don't revive dead project threads, just gets people's hopes up. Seeing as how the author last visited last spetember, I think it's safe to assume this project is going nowhere. -

Crazy Frog Poll
The boy formerly known as Evil Muzz replied to PhatHead's topic in General Off-Topic
Ah, the Crazy Frog. He's been around for a loooooong time, first manifesting himself as a ringtone, then getting so ridiculous that singles of his noises were released into the charts... Now, to say what I think of the crazy frog. He is the most abominable thing ever thought of. His alledged "motorbike" like sounds are horrifically monotonous, sharp and just generally annoying. His appearance is one of a grey/blue frog in a motobike helmet, this sums him up really, a hideous creation made doing the most irritating sounds and being present for the most annoying amount of time. I don't hate Crazy Frog. No no, I LOATHE him with a vengeance. -

I believe the name for this type of restaurant is Rodizzio. I have eaten at one in Germany before, and for people who like meat, it's a heaven!

Woman going to court for pirating songs--a first
The boy formerly known as Evil Muzz replied to Jazzmaster's topic in Current Events
Apparently it is also illegal to rip files from CDs... But everyone does that. I stopped using Limewire a long time ago, and rebought the songs I downloaded because I felt so guilty about it... I'm a sap I know! Now I get everything off iTunes, I only use Limewire for video game soundtracks, that I only want from time to time for various reasons. -

OMG Just realised I need to change my name to "The one who used to be Ginger"blokeyquote> If you do that I will hunt you down and sue you... But seriously, I thought you were "Proud to be Ginger"? Anyway, I personally would never get my ear pierced, just because I don't think it looks right on guys, but thats my opinion! -
New wii colors at reduced prices!
The boy formerly known as Evil Muzz replied to Jazzmaster's topic in Gaming Talk
The black and silver are awesome, the red and green are too garish for my liking. But anyway, I'm sure this means they will be doing the remotes and nunchuck in the same colours, which will be cool. -

Another hit from my mail bag.
The boy formerly known as Evil Muzz replied to A Nonny Moose's topic in General Off-Topic
A Scotsman, an Englishman and an Irishman are stranded on a desert island. One of them finds a lamp and rubs it, a Genie comes out and says; "If you can find ten pieces of fruit and allow me to insert them up your rectum without you reacting in any way, shape or form, I will grant you passage off of this island. But if you do react I will kill you." The Englishman returns first with ten blackberries, but on the 8th one begins to cry, so the Genie kills him, and he goes to heaven. The Scotsman returns with ten raspberries, but on the 5th one begins laughing hysterically. The Genie kills him, ang he too goes to heaven. There, the Englishman who has been watching the events asks, "Why did you start laughing?" To which the Scotsman replies, "I saw the Irishman coming back with ten pineapples." I love Scotsman, Englishmen and Irishmen jokes... Lol. -

It's Rihanna's umbrella actually. Not that I'd complain if she invited me under her umbrella. -

Goddam Mika and his "Big Girls (You Are Beautiful)", and "Love Today". These songs are incredibly annoying, but I can't hear them enough times. Annoyingly but also thankfully, someone keeps playing them on the common room sound system. -

PCSO's watch boy drown to death
The boy formerly known as Evil Muzz replied to jayo's topic in Current Events
It doesn't matter whether or not they "stood and watched him drown". The point is that they didn't even enter the water. Any normal member of the public would wade into a pond and start looking if they knew there was a boy drowning in there. Maybe they didn't stand back and watch, but they didn't do much better, after they called for help they should have been in the water trying to find him while help arrived. Part of their jobs is to help the public, not to call and get someone else to do it. -

Few Questions
The boy formerly known as Evil Muzz replied to Pgtips's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
For your mods and downloads, you should unzip the files to MyDocuments/SimCity4/Plugins. This should make them work in game, but make sure there are no installers or sub-zip folder. If this is the case, run the installer, and unzip the sub folders. For a successful city, well thats too broad a question to answer in one post, but I will direct you to the Omnibus. See the button for it at the top menu between STEX Collections and Modds and Downloads. Any further questions don't hesitate to send me a Private Message (PM). -

manticorefan: Nice picture, looks very natural. You have a very pretty wife! A few from me now... I look ginger in this picture, I'm not really, just a dark blonde... This is from a few weeks ago when I went to cheer on my team, Heart of Midlothian against the world class Barcelona... We lost 3-1! Well, everyone else likes looking demented in their photos, I just wanted to be the same... And after that horrifically shocking spectacle, you need something normal, so here! BTW, Dubya is saying "Some say that Hurricanes can wreak damage. They may be right." And that's me! -
Scotland considering manufacturing economy
The boy formerly known as Evil Muzz replied to saltandsauce's topic in Current Events
Agreed, manufacturing is one of our biggest traditions. Ship building on the Clyde, ship repairs in Rosyth and the car factories across the central belt are testimony to this. But manufacturing and "dirty" work is being moved where the labour is cheaper (i.e most of Asia). My mum's colleague's husband runs a seafood business. To get the meat out of the shells he used to use local labour, but believe it or not, it is cheaper for him to ship huge containers of seafood to China to have the meat plucked out of the shells, then the raw meat shipped back to Scotland, than to use labour down the road, so this is what he does now. The decline of ship building is one of the reason we have such high unemployment levels. As it was with steel works in Sheffield, with the decline of this industry, people have no job in which to put their skills to good use, hence are unemployed without many job prospects. The MoD could help this situation by contracting new ships to be built in Scotland, the Clyde yards can build them, while Rosyth continues to maintain them (Rosyth does this frequently, it's Glasgow that sees little action). They've deffinently taken a step in the right direction with the HMS Daring, but we need to see more of this. Scotland's jobs can also be reliant on our natural resources. Anyone who has ever seen pictures of a place in Scotland called Grangemouth, or Mossmorran will know that there is already a lot of work with natural resources being done in Scotland. Oil refinery at Mossmorran. This should be exploited to it's full. What better opportunity to get people who have been doing dirty work with their hands in the past back to work, than to put them to work with our most valuable asset? -
