  1. All though i loved the graphics in the video, i really hope SC13 gets the gameplay right, with graphics that match CXL.
  2. Feature Poll

Totally missing constructing canals in this list.
  3. I'm uncertain if i will be willing to pay for anything but the purchase of the game itself. Not much i know about the final content to make up my mind.
  4. I am not very excited by multiplayer. People tend to grief in online games, which would greatly reduce the fun of playing the game. I might have a brief look on the multiplayer, but 99.9% of the time i will play solo.
  5. SimCity: Wishlists

First thing on my wish list, outweighs everything else on my wish list: #1 Listen to the community! Zoning: Multi purpose zoning. Shops with residential Industrial with commercial Manufacturers with shops and so on. Option to choose architecture Do you wish that your just assigned just going to be a certain type of row homes, then you should have that option. Cities looks silly when they have a wild range of architecture. add feature that randomly generate stuff around the house. In real life neighborhoods not everyone has the same backyard, some have a nice garden, some just grass only and so on. Realistic shopping area's. Normally shopping area's that are not Malls, do not necessarily have to be on the street side Not every single shop has to have its own parking lot. At least where i live ( the Netherlands ) most shopping area's are pedestrian only ( with exclusion for delivery trucks ) Adding a nearby parking lot, provides for people to get there by car. Would love to see a construction of a underground parking lot and having a shopping area constructed on top of it. Building should last at least 30 years or more. Zones just shouldn't rebuild just because theres a demand for it. real construction sites, once they order has been given to start developing a zone, at least 6 months ( game time ) should pass before a building is finished. Wealth classes: One thing annoyed me greatly in CXL, was the fact that every member of society had to live in a certain type of zone ...... forever... On top of that, the rich part of town that basically already had everything also had the benefit of nearby schools, medical, law enforcement etc. While to unskilled apparently didn't need stuff like that. In real life, of course certain types of homes can only be afforded by people with a better job ( more money ) BUT! a neighborhood usually develops like that over time. If city planning lacks proper schools nearby for example, house prices eventually go down. Also the separation of wealth classes is less dramatic then it was in CXL. Nobody gets paid approximately the same as everyone else in the neighborhood. Generic: Feature to make canals Feature to make custom parks Option to choose which year you want to start a city/region For now this is what i can come up with that has been missing in previous city builder or hasn't been mentioned a few times already in this thread. Edit: There will have to be a lot of buildings, and i mean a WHOLE lot.
  6. Simcity 5 (2013) Poll

All though i am not thrilled about a online feature, i do recognize that it would be fun to play with friends. ( playing along side unknown people, who perhaps could be bored and annoyed teenagers does not sound appealing ) As for GTA UDI, i'd rather see a taxi or bus service where we as mayor could sit and enjoy our build city instead of focus on driving ourself and perhaps miss some of the nice views. 3D is a must for me, it adds so much to the cities detail. Would be a shame not to be able to tilt/rotate and max zoom anno 2012/2013. Bat is perhaps THE most important feature, it kept SC4 running as long as it did and still is.
  7. Minang City

Nice! Can i ask how you created that canal in the downtown area?
  8. Ideas for the next XL Game

I agree with this, current leisure is just flat out boring. A few of my own idea's. Self created parks, included pawns, canals, playgrounds. Getting more out of the spaces between roads and buildings. Now it's either some dull tree spam or a far to random plaza area. Canals, trenches, ditches. Even with a ocean map the whole city looks dry. ( could be done with a road like tool, choices of a grassy, paved edges etc ) Parking lots and underground parking lots. Street parkingspace Shop/residential combination. CXL 2011 already have residential s that have shops, but without any function. Would be great to combine streets with shops and home on the same lot. Car free shopping area's. It just feels weird that every single shop needs to be connected to a road. For example this "shopping area" could be connected to city hall/other roads, by placing it on top of a underground parking lot or it has a parking lot nearby ( i hope people know what i mean More city services on a smaller scale. At the moment you need at least 2000 inhabitants for health care and 5000 for educational, why not add a simple doctors office and a school building that provides education for age 6-18. When you advance in the game there can always be additional High schools, colleges added to the build list. Of course this cheaper and smaller solution will not be working anymore when you reach a xxxxx number of inhabitants to prevent cheating Better building scaling. single family homes are the same lot size as everything else, either increase for example the size of Industrial zones or decrease the size of homes. Let's say low density lots are now 20x20, single family home lots could be resized to 5x10. Stat scaling ain't so great either in CXL 2011. Apartment buildings ( medium density ) just doesn't seem to provide homes as many as the they should, compared to low density homes. Since i started nagging I am not a huge fan of how the residents are split up now. Unskilled Skilled Executives Elites. Sure they exist in the real world, but having to split those groups while building your cities is just awful. If it would have been more realistic, they should had used a SC4 kind of model based on average income. It's just silly that for example skilled workers rather stay unemployed for a long time, while there are unskilled jobs available. For me this part of the gameplay needs a overhaul, its a SIM game, were simulating, so it should reflect the real world a bit more. Ps. i didn't intented to make such a long post
