Learning asset creation - American House
Cleavus replied to barcasam7's topic in Cities: Skylines Modding - Open Discussion
Hi mate, I had the same issue, you need to make sure you only have one scene layer - go Tools > Scene explorer > Make sure you only showing Layer (Like Layer0_001) any others you MUST delete to have a clean model. Then the model will show up in the asset editor,. Also you have to enter the Asset editor with no Mods activating as some may conflict. There is a command line in the Steam settings, or someone will know what it is and put that in your shortcut link. I have 2 desktop icons, one for the standard game and one for Steam no mods for when I go into the Asset Editor, otherwise the Editor crashes the game. Good luck -
First of all thanks to ALL the replies DioAngel, DOXXP29 cheers. Yes Metropolis your pollution level was specific and localised, although still a nightmare for you. I dont seem to have the community garden, but have edited some parks recently.I used to have the 'Pollution to garbage lot' which did the same thing a few months ago, but thats well deleted. T Wrecks I've read alot of your posts and you have alot of insight into the game. Yes your right, that is a messy folder! - I would love to know which props are obsolete now, if someone could point me in the right direction there I would be grateful. There could be a clash of some of these props somewhere. One interesting thing is when I slowly destroyed EVERYTHING manually on the map including trees, the pollution was still there, but when I used the 'annihilation' God tool and 'wiped' it out, the pollution had gone. Which would indicate its NOT a mod. MadBee, would like to get that from you for the future, although I think its too late now, and as T Wrecks has said the corrupt lot ahs routed itself into the last savegame. Thanks again all.

Hi T Wrecks - great to hear from the master! I just tried slowly deleting EVERYTHING, even subways Big Dig, even trees, there was just bear land, and the map was still all in the red. I think your right, I have accidently saved when I didnt realise there was a pollution bug. So now I've gone back in its too late. Although now the recent files as listed, are removed and bulldozed in the game, the Pollution should have disipated, I would have thought. I will try to cull the lots how you described. I have the virgin culprit region (Lower New York Harbour) saved in another folder, which I could overight it with, but I loose a years work. Whats your opinion of the S4 Startup manager theory? This config file is in every folder in the Plugings folder. When I renamed the PluginsDisabled folder back to Plugins, it left all these in there: Thanks HEAPS for all your help bud. BlackBeard:Yea I think it is a lot I downloaded, although with all lots removed and on double speed the pollution is still in the red - although the desiribility is still in the GREEN! - cheers

Hi Lucky 7. Well, This is not a slow normal game build up in pollution sadly, its a jump from no pollution to total pollution after adding one of these lots. I have removed all of these lots but it has made no difference. I have about 15 of those pollution eaters over in Brooklyn where the industial areas are. But they are doing nothing. This is definately corrupt data. Yes the map is the most accurate I could find and I liked this one better than the Maxis one. I would have liked the Battery Park/Financial area as part of the Manhattan map, but as you can see its in a different area. The streets are as close to maps as I could get, but its very hard to get the angles right Would LOVE to see pics of your NYC - perhaps you could email or reply with a link? Anyways I'm going off subject a bit - cheers for your help

Thanks El Burro, tried that...and nothing. I think it might be a mod maybe. I finally deleted the last building and the game crashed BTD. Also I might add a couple of other things: The map is aprox only 30% used - its a large size with alot of water. And the other Cities are ok. I did test builds on the others and all ok.No pollution. I did install the startup manager but decided you cant use it on an existing region only a new one. And it renamed the plugin folder, so I renamed it back to Plugins, but I noticed the program had placed a 'plugin' config file in EVERY folder. So not sure if that had something to do with it. Cheers for that suggestion though might try it again for now. I'll give that a go ilikehotdogsalot. What does that do?

Hi all, After a year of neally completing Lower Manhattan region in my NYC map, when I load it up and look at the pollution levels the whole city is dark yellow and becoming red by the second! I downloaded and installed these just before the disaster: Cloudy Sky, THL Desert Terrain Mod version 2.3, Logging Mill Accomodation, PorkieProps-Vol1, SG_Install_FloraPackVol03, No Palms, proppacktuna, frogface_ConcreteWall prop pack, Sao Jorge. I wondered if any of these could have a confilct. And if I find the culprit and remove it will my city return to its normal non polluted state? -or will I have to start from scratch again? - I haven't saved it in this condition when exiting the game. This happend once before when I installed a garbage to power lot and even after deleting the lot the pollution didnt do away, I had to trash the city as it seemed to 'infect' the city as a whole. cheers

Wow! 1 New York Plaza, at last. Us New York fanatics worship you from afar! so many thanks Alex, your a star. The textures on 1 NY Plaza are so much like the real thing. The size is bang on too. Well worth the wait. Love the other two as well. 10/10. And another 10 when 55 Water Steet works out for you to present! cheers

St Loius dude, you are right Portsmouth Tower is VERY close, I'll check out the other one you mentioned...Portsmouth will have to do till Alex makes it, but 1 New York Plaza is more pressing! - Its the main building you see when your coming into NY harbour and no one has made it. I am so tired of using look-alikes though - cheers

St Louis Dude, why doesnt it show when I do a Search? If you can give me a link to it I'll believe and make a humble apology! In fact there isnt one New York building from the lower financial district apart from 2 New York Plaza on this site. They are all midtown and upwards. Unless I'm looking in the wrong place. Cheers.
