I'm being technical; NASCAR has many different series, not just the high level Sprint series on giant tracks. This track and similar ones are still used by NASCAR. But the one I'm working on now will have a proper infield and all that.
-
The pits/garages are actually entered through the outside wall in Turn 3. This is what tracks too small to have an infield area typically do.
-
I'm working on a new track, and have been trying to figure out how to build banked turns that slope up and down to the straightaways without success. Might have to go with a flat circuit.

CS$$ Roadside snack shop and dairy, in the old-fashioned Drive-In style. Based off of a real store in northern Maryland. Growable only, creates 9 CS$$ jobs, no dependencies In-game textures are a bit bright, but in actuality, so is the real building. Sometimes things are meant to be pastel! -

Ah, nice. Things still seem a little goofy though; the viewpoints aren't being labeled (nothing says Top, Left, etc) and in the Top view specifically, things are being hidden. Where normally everything sort of overlays each other, the highest object blots out everything underneath it and I can't see what's where underneath. Fixed: Okay, Wireframe was off. Figured that one out quick, but the viewports still aren't labeled. -

The X-Y-Z axis arrows that are displayed on the object you have selected aren't functioning. They're still there, but I can't move my objects by just dragging along the highlighted axis. The Move cursor doesn't come up when I hover over any of the arrows. Something I accidentally toggled off? Can't find it. -

Bowman Gray Stadium, built in 1949 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, is one of the rare remaining dual purpose stadiums that hosts both football and motorsports. Though the football field in the center draws attention, it's actually the quarter-mile asphalt track ringing it that brings the stadium its legendary lore. This small circuit was one of the cornerstones of the early days of NASCAR, and has hosted races at one level or another for over 60 years, continuing to this day, with racing running weekly. The football gridiron laid out in the infield was once host to the team from Wake Forest University, but today is utilized by Winston-Salem State University's team. Size: 13x15 Cost: $25000 Appears under Landmarks No dependencies, just unzip and enjoy -

Here's the slightly warped looking BAT model And one of the rendered views that didn't come out glitched I'll go ahead and try downloading the texture fix -

I'm having trouble with the oldest glitch in the book, the value errors causing Maxis buildings to invert around my BAT at closer zooms. Deleted some files, re-exported, re-exported again, merged the file and re-exported again, still getting garbage. What were the other solutions? -
Yep, it's done now. Unfortunately, I got Ye Olde ID Value Errors, so I have to re-export it and pray, but here's a pint sized preview.
-
The speedway is basically done at this point, should hit the STEX sometime in the next few hours.
-
Work on the ol' girl's going pretty quick and good. Here's a preview of how it's looking.
-
No, I don't have the capability of making a Sprint Cup track, that's just too big. Program would asplode.
-
Is Bowman Gray NASCAR? Uh, yeah. One of the most historic tracks out there that is still being raced on.
-
Not sure if anyone's watching this thread, but I'm working on a model of Bowman Gray Stadium, should be done soon. Racetrack/Football stadium.
VERY nice look. Going to download. The only objection I have to it is the logo on the field. It appears to be a ram if I'm correct but that isn't my objection. My objection is the orientation of the logo. Personally I think the logo should be visible to those in the box on ANY field.9/10 (or 5/5 since I can't give you a 4.5)Good work.
You're right. I could have sworn that I noticed that and flipped the field orientation, guess I forgot. Nice catch. (And the logo is a modified version of Rhode Island's)

I'm just going to keep shedding objects - I've deleted or merged more than half of what I started with - and keep on trying. The killer I found were the support poles, some of those were stacked in places I don't even remember building. -

I just don't buy into the not enough memory theory, I feel like this machine is plenty powerful. On the bright side, maybe I'm making progress. A test export just made it further than any before, before bonking out with this angry message. But I made it all the way through Zooms 5 and 4. I'll keep on at it with trial and error. -

Stadium still won't export, and I'm at wit's end. Down to half as many objects as I started with, rechecked textures, and still coming up with nothing. -

None of the textures or map settings seem out of the ordinary. My last try (modified some textures, object count down to 8,100). But this time I made it all the way to the end of the East view, a new record.
