Flynn Estate - State of Freedomland Flynn Estate, one of the largest and last remaining private estates in the country, was built in 1850 by Lord Chester Flynn. Having started with nothing more than a hilly area with little fertility, it was not until 1855 did Flynn, who didn’t bear the title Lord by that time, managed to build a very efficient irrigation system and had harvested various precious crops. By 1865, runaway slaves from the Imperial farms discovered the farms and settled there, being hired by Chester as farmhands. Since then, many people moved to the estate to make a better living than in the Imperial. In turn, the number of farms in the area increased and they have Chester Flynn nominated as the mayor of the town. In 1870, Flynn earned the title Lord and built a large mansion for him and his family, which stood proudly in the hills and he built his own private plantation far away from the other farms. Lord Chester Flynn died in 1890, and his son, Reginald Flynn, took over his father estate. During this time, he turned his attention towards industrialization and made distilleries that processed some of his crops into processed goods and also factories for making other products. He also built a rail system that connects Capital City to Timber Town, bringing lots of people from the two states. By the end of the prohibition in 1930, Reginald used his vast network of connections and took control of Capital City docks and a lot of industries in Capital City. Reginald died and his heir, Horace Flynn, took over the reins. It was 1940, and the Civil War was at play. The region took over the Flynn’s assets on Capital City and turned them into weapons factories and munitions warehouses. By the end of the war, the Flynn had a lot of people at their estate that left for the war and never came back. Horace however, managed to turn this around when he struck a deal with war-struck cities by selling supplies and foods. Having making enough money, he converted most of the old factories into more modern and high-tech facilities in 1970 and made a lot more money than Reginald did. This last quite long, until Horace disappeared from the estate in 1980. Nowadays, the Flynn estate is run by Webb & Rubadaugh Flynn, who continue the Flynn’s work in managing the estate. As for Horace, some said he died, others said he ran off with a young girl to Mount Vista. But a few people said that Horace still lives in the castle, looking over the estate…… Anyway, this is my first CJ entry, so sorry if it's a mess and have lack of custom content, please leave a comment. Most are not as bad as Indonesia's network: -Jakarta plans to add new bus line, though the fact remains that traffic jams still occurs and special bus lanes are often used by cars and motorcycles, not to mention the periodic flood... -Surabaya is building a elevated highway toll across town, even though the mayor and its administration, foreign experts and its citizen disagree because they have negative effects on enviroment and they cause more traffic jams, the main reason the central administration forced us to build that is so that the capital remains the highest earning (predicted in the next 2 years, Surabaya and East Java (the same) income would surpass Jakarta). -Only in Indonesia where you can find power outage/blackout in an international airport at night, and regular power/water outage to "fix" it. -Only in Indonesia can someone find a large hole in the middle of the road. -Only in Indonesia can public transportation like bus or transport service stop on a side of a busy road and cause traffic jams. -Only in Indonesia where planes can crash often and trains derail. -Only in Indonesia you can find street vendors in the side of the road (and I mean literally the side of the road, not the sidewalk). -Only in Indonesia can someone experience a flood the height of a half of a sedan.. So if yo think yours are worse, wait till you see my country.

Well, I'm planning on making an entertainment district for my first CJ, but right now I'm trying to solve crash during road placing on uphill surface or long roads.. Anyway, I've had one, but the repetition was way too much, there were way too many boutiqes, too many "Wren Insurance"-type building, so maybe when I fix that I'll post THAT CJ....

Uhmm, I'm new to these scene, so i have a few questions.... How do you make a bridge go across land like some of the photos? How do you install a bridge? I've downloaded one but it never appeared anywhere.... Must a bridge have the same height on both ends, or can you make one of those ends lower/higher than the other? Sorry to bother this thread, once again, I'm new to this....

Well, I reckon the idea's new, so no cigar... However, there are medieval docks that you can use and download... Also there are village churches and cathedrals, but my favourite is a ruined abbey, maybe because the people doesn't like religion anymore There are also castles you can search for here That's all i know...

Try using the demand modifier here on STEX.... So you want to learn the ways of the tropical? 1. Don't make too many skyscraper that spans to 100 floor, tropical islands are called such because of volcanic activity, which means that earthquake would probably occur more than other terrain, so most tall buildings are usually 15-30 floors. 2. Find texture for rainforest trees and palm or banana trees, since they're so common. While you're there, soil texture on tropical places are different since they're humid. Also don't forget to find replacement texture for the beach. 3. Make a large port : since you're building cities, having a large port and ferry terminals are quite important. 4. Ancient colonial fortress : all tropical regions have colonial fortress (except Thailand maybe), so try making a large fortress to act as a ruin or tourist spot. 5. Build nice beaches, and maybe add a couple of marinas there. 6. Sometimes when you post photos of a more secluded part of the island without modern civilization, you could try adding rain effects on the photo to solidify your region as a tropical one.... That's all, sorry if I'm being too pushy or just writing plain nonsense...

You should, as Egypt have elaborate irrigation system during the early times... Also, when building coastal cities, I recommend putting lots of palms and fountains so as to look like an oasis in paradise... Enlarge or make a very large pyramid in a place and maybe throw a couple of restaurants and souvenir shops near as to promote high tourism And try studying more on Modern Egypt Architecture when making a CBD.

On the 2nd photo, try not to place rail tunnel and road tunnel too close, in real world the noise might bring collapse... Also on the last photo, how do you make the diagonal wall between the road and the rail? Overall, it's great

One thing you shouldn't forget about Middle East : Obelisk, temple, old and large university or library, large roundabouts Something that's quite bothering me : I have never seen an irrigation system on CJs before..

Los Andiamo ~ Autocracy (I think), the goverment rules Marina Bay & Devil's Shore (one city split into two tiles) ~ Democratic Empire Bay ~ Republic (or something similar to liberalism) Dodge Island ~ None (because it's an utility center, I think it's most likely corporate) Littletown & Timber Town ~ Democracy (classic democracy, since both are small town) I still have more, but I'm working on getting my SC4 running, it couldn't run after since last week....

Anyway, I updated my SC4Deluxe with North America Update, SC4Update and put the building prop from Maxis Yesterday, my game crashed and everytime I tried to start the game, it can't even load the intro. I'm using Win 7 Dual Core, GTX9700 and 3GB RAM, so I know the hardware's not the problem...

Check the Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4\SKU Data subfolder. It will tell you what SKU number you need for your game region. You may have installed the wrong update, that is the only reason I can think of that would cause the game to crash after installing the update. No, after installing the update the game went fine, after playing 2 hours, it crashed, and when I tried to start it again, I can't....
