OK, guys, thanks for help. I hoped that I will avoid this method but apparently not. Thanks again anyway!

Hello, everyone! Just need help with identifying what bus skin is this: This ugly bright yellow double decker recently began to show up on my streets. It is apparently part of some dependency package I downloaded and installed, but I just can't find what is it exactly... I want to get rid of that ugly automata so I need to find out what file do I have to delete from the Plugins folder. Any ideas? Thanks for all replies.

round corner roads in simcity How to make Round corner roads in simcity4?
borutaj replied to greener07's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Hi, friend! First ensure you have installed the Network Addon Mod. That includes smooth curves for various networks. You can find it here: https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=851 When you have it installed, in game menu you will find the smooth curves under the particular sub-menu. -
OK, FLEX curves seem to be a solution if they are able to be surrounded by RCI zones. I know how to drag smooth-curved roads and streets but I never manage to do it in a case of avenue. I am sure it is written somewhere, perhaps on sc4devotion site in NAM place section. I gonna find it out. Thanks for tips, guys!

Hi guys! I was just wondering if there are any nice looking fillers for avenue smooth curves. I like to use smooth curves in urban areas but I am not confident with the space around the smooth avenue curves which seems empty (although it isn't - there are network pieces). I found what I was looking for for the road (and usable also for streets and OWRs) here: Something like that I would love for avenues too. Any ideas? Thanks for replies!

Hello! In fact there is a perfect solution for GLR to overpass the RHW. You use a RHW 6C network which you can overpassed by simple el-rail network dragging "through" it. Connection of GLR an el-rail networks in this situation is possible using two puzzle pieces which are included in NAM. I recommend the one called "Ground light rail "T" On slope" transition. This enables GLR to change into el-rail and cross a road section in just 2 tiles long space just as you need. First tile of this puzzle piece is the rail network over the slope itself making the height difference between GLR and el-rail and second tile is el-rail network over the road piece. When you place this piece you will see under the el-rail a small part of a street. You can drag through it any type of road based network and it will change shape to the particular road (i.e. street, road, OWR, Maxis Avenue). Advantage is that you can get this transition into your limited space shown in the picture. Disadvantage is that the aforementioned puzzle piece won't work with the RHW dragged through just because it's not the road based network. Solution of this next problem is NWM (Network Widening Mod) which you use too as I see from the picture. Because NWM is a palette of networks based on ROAD (i.e. you place the starter piece and drag the standard road (or OWR) through it and it will make a new network corresponding to the starter piece), you CAN use it with the Ground light rail "T" On slope and it will work. That means it's possible to make a RHW 6C than change it into the AVE-6 (part of the NWM), which looks very similar to the RHW 6C and the transition between them looks very smooth, let the GLR cross it the way I described above and then change the AVE-6 into the RHW 6C again. Sad thing is that you have no space between your GLR and Avenue that crosses the highway. You use Avenue over RHW puzzle piece but there is not such a piece enabling the Avenue to cross the NWM networks and there isn't enough space to change the AVE-6 into the RHW 6C again before it's overpassed by Avenue. You need at least 1 tile space for it. Maybe you could demolish the Avenue and place it again just one tile more to the "north", I see free space there. I admit my explanation is a bit complicated and also affected by my terrible English but if you have a question don't hesitate to ask and I will do my best to answer it. And I'm sure so will do the other members of Simtropolis community. Best regards, friend!

How to cross monorail and elevated rail?
borutaj replied to Broadsword15's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Hi! You could lower down the el-rail by convert it into the GLR (Ground Light Rail) and when the monorail line is underpassed make the GLR elevated again. GLR is also a part of NAM and a transition puzzle piece is included. The transition piece is about 5 tiles long I think and it looks better than the el-rail to subway piece which is just 3 tiles long so the slope is quite steep. This could help too: http://homepage2.nifty.com/caribou/slope.htm -
Update 14- A new master planned community in Provo
borutaj commented on coolwiththecool2's City Journal Entry in Portland Metropolitan Area
Looking very nice indeed. Can you tell me where did U get the sound walls next to the main avenue please? -
OMG!!! It's not a long time ago when I ask on a Simtropolis forum for some rural airfield tips because I'm working on a tropical island with an airfield serving the incoming and leaving tourists. Your airfield is simply brilliant! The greatest SC4 rural airfield I've ever seen, master! Can you share it or give me some tips?

Hello, to start to exchange the commodities (electricity, water, garbage) you have to: 1) make a neighboring city / town / village - that is necessary, it's logic, because if outside your city is just a land without civilization, why would be there a need for such commodities? 2) make a neighbor connection - if you have already a neighboring city, you must build an infrastructure to make the exchange possible - for water you need to build pipes, for electricity wires and for garbage roads / highways which will be used by garbage transports. 3) make a sufficient capacity of your city to sell these "products" - that means the game doesn't allow you to sell e.g. electricity to the neighbors if you don't have much of it. For example you have a power plant generating 7 000 MWh / month, but your city is consuming 6 000 MWh / month. You can sell the electricity at least 1 000 MWh / month. In this situation the deal cannot be commenced because if it were your own city wouldn't have enough electricity for its own. So you will have to increase your own electricity production to have a surplus big enough to let you sell a part of it. Your point No. 2: You're right. If you have covered the whole city map, than it's time to rebuild the part of the city the way you want or start to build a neighboring city. I recommend the second choice. No. 3): The effect of rezoning the zone from low density to medium density (or even high density) of a same kind (i.e. residential, industrial or commercial) will come, but you have to be patient. To let the medium density buildings grow it's necessary to have sufficient demand for that type of structure, the city has to be big enough (to have enough population of that type of building). So if you don't have enough population of that type of building, increase it first. The rule is "first build the city to width and then to height". No. 4): Generally it is possible but it is much harder then if you have neighboring cities. If you build just one city totally isolated from neighbor relations you can get easily into troubles with demand which determines if the city is developing of not, commute time and customers amount which will cause building abandonment etc.

Oh, dear! That's brilliant! I love that float plane base. That's your own BATs? Could you share it? Or it's possible to get it somewhere already?
-
Oh yeah, I know this site. I've downloaded a lot of thing from there. All are cool but they're not exactly what I'm looking for. What a shame I don't know how to work with BAT...

Yes, I use ATRs and DHCs already. I'm looking for JETS without jetways. That 777 pack you have recommended is promising with the one placed diagonally. Looking good, thank you

Hello, everyone, I would like to ask for a few tips to make realistic-looking airport. There are lots of great stuff form SCAG but I miss especially two elements. One is diagonally or just non-orthogonally placed aircrafts at jetways. And second are gates without jetways, so the passengers would take a bus from terminal, travel to their jet and then climb to it using stairs. All this would be extremely useful for me to make small airports (like for example Florence - Peretola in Italy) and also bigger ones. Please, colleagues, could you give me a link to such a stuff? I'll be very grateful.

OK, I'll try that. But... Will it work with Windows 7? Answer is... NO! I've just tried it.
