Hey All, It has been probably a year since i last played SC4 and visited this site. I remember that one of the issue previously that plobable building did not seem to systain jobs even when plopped on a zones area. Is this still the case or has this been solved? It was nice to plop all these good looking buildings...but they werent really functional.

What about the ground highway straight onramps?? Any word on that??
-
First of many thanks for all those who work on the NAM, it has made the game so much more intrestting for me....thank you all very much. I have the following questions: Ped Footbridge start/end: the current version show a red green and blue box stacked on top of each other, i have been told there was no time to texture them before the last NAM release...is this in the works for the next release? Highway straight ramps: I love the straight ramps you guys made for the elevated highway, they are much more realistic than the normal ones. Is there any plan to made straight ramps for the ground highway??

Date: 4/26/2005 7:12:15 PM Author: MTLT_17 Hey man, Great! Umm is there anyway of rotating it so that we could make this terminal on a 45 degree angle in-game? So that we can make the runways also run at 45 degress beside it without it looking to out of place? -MTLT quote> Does Joergs pack allow you to make diagonal runways??

Great work, but i would like to make the following constructive comment: By convention, airplanes are always boarded on the left front side. You boarding tunnel currently splits in two suggesting you could service 2 planes which is not so realistic. But don't take me wrong, the rest of the building looks freaking unbelieveble. Most of the time there is a fixed portion of the boarding bridge that is perpendicular to the building and then a movable portion that is a bit narrower as well. Long linear terminal are becomining more and more popular for construction these days, a descent side linear terminal can have 20 or so gates for large planes on one side ( or both depending on whether the terminal is accesible to airplanes on both sides. Just thought i;d give you some info....keep up the good work....can;t wait to see how it turns out..

Is it that you do not have Rush Hour?quote> Are you refering to the background or the blue within the lots?? I have some missing textures around the ponds that i know of. The blue backgroudn has always been there...and i have rush hour.... -

It is MUCH better than the Philly pack, and the terminals are larger, better built, and more realistic. Have fun! EDOT: OMFG! No frikken way! There was an update to Joergs airport lots and I didn't even know! It was from friggen 2004!!! Whats more, I DID comment on the 3rd page of that thread. But I completely missed the link to the improved airports on the first page! Date: 5/4/2005 1:32:09 AM Author: wraith90 I reconize those parking lots. They are mine and i know why the land is black under them in the picture above. I made them for my airport and the base texture I used is from the airport pack mentioned in the post above me. This airport is looking really good. Edit: I just noticed also that the GLR station is not connected in the first picture of your last update, it overhangs the lot on either side, just FYI. quote> Thanks you so much....i should have know....that darn station wouldn't work for the life of me...do i drag elevated rail through or just place a tile??? -

Here's another update: This central area shot taken right before construction of the second terminal. Plans for addition of small parks and foutans are in the works, so certain space have been left open. Overview of the entire airport, second runway and terminal have been completed and feul farm have been build. Close-up of the maintenance hanger area and fuel farm, the fuel farm provides local storage of fuel for several days of operation. It is fed from a nearby refinery by (partially) underground pipeline. This shot was taken before construction of the second runway hence the 'dead-end' taxiway. Cargo area still in planning stages as well as a area for hotels in the middle of the airport. -

Date: 5/2/2005 5:01:45 PM Author: MayorTim The only thing I don't like about your airport (and it isn't just you) is that you used the wider runways. They have to be the most unrealistic and out of proportion transportation lot anyone has ever put into the game. A standard runway in the real world when put in SC4 is about 4/5 of a large city tile long and only 3 tiles wide. The wider runways don't fit into the game at all, and are one of the best ways to make your airport look unrealistic.quote> Yes, you are partially correct, the lenght is not really representative of a real runway, as for a large airport they are typically between 3000 and 4000 meters (4000 being a large city wide). The large runway section is however 5 tiles wide, making it 80m wide. A typical large airport runway in 45 meters wide, (approx 3 tiles), but this does not include the runway shoulder (also paved) off approx 7,5 to 11.5 meters each side. In total i thought the 3 tile wide runway was undersized, but i agree the 5 tile runway is a bit oversized. Regarding the lenght once again you are totally right, although in proportion to the terminal it seems to work out ok. Since i cannot control the size of the terminal i think the lenght i choose is appropriate, but i denfinely appreicate your input.
