  1. Show us Your Interchanges!

I have now gone through the whole city and taken out the sharp bends on both highways and avenues.
  2. Show us Your Interchanges!

As you can see I have adjusted the corners, so the screeching of brakes shouldn't be a problem. I have also made the on/off ramps a one way system, this should increase traffic flow.
  3. Show us Your Interchanges!

Placing the onramp after the offramp is the norm in real life because that way, vehicles that leave and those that enter the speedway don't get into each others way like they do if it's the other way around. Those that get on the speedway in your case have very little time to clear the outer lane for traffic that wants to get off. And I don't know, but it's not really one interchange but five individual ones, wouldn't you say? They all give full access on their own, they're just spread out. It looks large and very dense now but I think when there's development around it it's gonna fit well. Point well made. It never dawned on me that entrances and exits so close to each other would spell accidents and disastrous bottle necks. As you can see I have increased the distance between on and off ramps. What type of road is that between the slip ramps and the avenue? Traffic is going one way off or on the highway, so only half of the capacity will be used if that's two way? Also, sharp corners... Slamming on the brakes as you pull off a motorway, what about cars behind you? They're breaking ON the motorway. You'd struggle to get above 20mph on a corner like those. Flip side, getting onto the highway, less space to get up to speed. Wider curves, keep the momentum, better closing speeds. What an idiot I am. I meant to make the off and on ramp road a one-way system but forgot. I shyall get on it right away and the sharp bends as well. Thanks for the pointers.

Hi all, This is my first attempt at an interchange. Comments welcome. I know it's rather large but does it matter or should I make it a bit more compact? Regards Mick

My sincere appologies for not replying sooner. But the only thing I could think of was to go right back to the drawing board as it were. So I deleted everything from my system to do with SC4 and reinstalled it from scratch, tested it then updated it. I then installed the plugins one at a time and tested each one. Thats why it's taken me so long to reply. After all that hard work it's payed off, because everything is working as it should. Nightlights and everything. Heaven knows what was wrong in the first place. Probaly some missing file or other, and just to prove it works I've included a picture of my fictional International Airport fully lit. When it's complete I will of course post some pictures of it for you to comment on. Many many thanks for all your help in this matter and I hope you didn't get too many sleepless night over it. Thanks again. Regards Teddybear

    No, no cd cracks.
  8. RMIP Lighting

Firstly I appologize for posting the message in the wrong part of the forum. Secondly, I was up till the wee hours this morning trying to solve this puzzle. In the end, I am back to square one and now have no hair on my head. I followed your suggestions and this is where we are at to date. I reinstalled SC4 DE a total of 4 times and at each occasion this is what happened when i installed the different SKU files after a reinstall. The night Bat file was installed after each step: SKU 1 altered files = SimCity_1,2,3,4 & 5.dat SC4 version 1.1.638.0 (1.1.640.0 after bat install) SKU 2 altered files = SimCity_2,3 & 4.dat SC4 version 1.1.610.0 SKU 3 altered files = SimCity_4 & 5.dat SC4 version 1.1.610.0 SKU 4 altered files = SimCity_5.dat SC4 version 1.1.610.0 SKU 5 altered files = NONE SC4 version 1.1.610.0 Just for good measure and for test purposes I downloaded Clocktower2 which needs the latest nightlights Bat to work at night. This was placed right next to the power station and road. One further point, when I installed SKU_1, all the files checked out correctly for the number of bytes but, when I installed the nightlights Bat, SimCity_1.dat dropped from 144mb to 141mb. I don't know if this means anything. Hope this helps to put you in the picture. Regards Teddybear

I know what your going to say, 'not another question about night lights. If i had a pound, etc! etc!'. Well yes it is. You see my problem is the buildings in my airport just refuse to light up at night, and not just the RMIP ones either it's all of them. I have downloaded and installed the EP1 and Bat updates, also alli dependancies are up to date according to cleanitol. I've ran the sim for 6 months in day time mode before switching to night mode and still nothing. What am I doing wrong? Regards Teddybear
  10. North American Stadiums

Could anyone tell me please where files 2 & 3 are for the Reliant Stadium, and if they don't exist shouldn't they be withdrawn from STEX?
