@tjperry88 Welcome. Have fun! @KidChaos2 Thank you! @rjackson93 What's not working for you? Is the map not building at all or is it stopping part way through? I've had some issues when the screen saver comes on in windows with the build finishing prematurely. Disabling that might help if that's the issue. Otherwise, give me as much info as you can and I'll be glad to help you try to get it working!

You may recognize this terrain from the table top. Modeled after Ulthuan -the crescent shaped High Elf Kingdoms from Warhammer- this map is 54 large tiles of coastline, mountains and islands. I used five different Ulthuan maps as a reference point. Each reference had different levels of fidelity and their own take on location and terrain placements. So it's more of a composite than exact. I've been testing the map with different games and NAM settings over the past few months and I've got it to a good release point. Hills/Mountains are quite gradual with their inclines in places for better building. You may have to weather them some before mayor mode if you're going for realism. This is the largest map I've built to date at 54 large tiles. I hope you enjoy it, and have fun! -
@neowolf It's my biggest so far I guess is what I meant I'm not sure I could face much bigger, all the pre-planning would explode my brain. What's the largest map you've built on? @terring That's what I'm doing with it. I'm way to inspired by Tokyo 3... @RazgrizGa12 The top and back sides have more natural shoreline, but you're right it needs more variation, cliffs and more lowland a must in the next one!

My first new map in over eight months, and it's my biggest of far. I've tried to incorporate both realistic and fantasy elements into this map. I like to give it a back story of a small archipelago which has been reclaimed and shaped in preparation for a huge city building project. There are some nice straight lines for large areas of CDK3 ports and marinas. Raised and shaped land for levels of commerce, residence or sprawling airport. Rivers carve a path through the valley and rugged wild areas exist for your more scenic and remote homesteads. There's actually more realistic mountainous areas here than fantasy but, you get a large amount of both. The config sets up ten large cities and 23 medium cities for a large populous. It might make older computers chug a little once you have all those going, so fair warning. So far I'm really enjoying build on this map, I'd love to hear how you find the new creation though! -

Hey Simtropolites, it's been a while! I'm in the process of shutting down my blog and I'm moving some of my early -and embarassing- files over here for posterity. -- This map was the precursor to Sector 1 available here and I really didn't like it. All those curved angles played havoc with bridge building (also from before I learnt how to build tunnels), the average height of the land was also too high. I'm the first to admit it could be much better but, it had over 450 downloads on the blog so here it lives. Next up something brand new. -

Hey Simtropolites, it's been a while! I'm in the process of shutting down my blog and I'm moving some of my early -and embarassing- files over here for posterity. -- This is actually my first ever map. Abstract fantasy like most of my earlier stuff, I'd just watched Solaris again evidently. I never uploaded it because I wasn't that happy with the final outcome. It's not very big, but there's a couple of interesting features. I managed to get the central circles nicely built up thanks to all the small neighbours. Small and quick if you're bored of realistic maps for a few hours... -

One for those who may think my other fantasy maps go a little too far... This is a second version of my New Eden Bay map, made real. The map is still one of fantasy, but I've gone back and updated it with more real-world features. While the base landmass is still roughly the same, gone is the restriction I placed on myself to only use circles. I've added some Islands to the larger waterways. Inland lakes have been connected to the sea with rivers. Highland is now much more mountainous. Lowland is more varied and has much less plain flat land. I've taken the time to do some backwards and forwards detail checking so you shouldn't see any weird join errors. The configuration also remains the same, nine large cities make up the region. I'll be playing this map myself over the coming weeks, but feel free to leave a comment if you get around to playing it too! -

With Island Nation I’ve gone for an archipelago style island chain, with a mixture of large, medium and small city tiles. The overall map size is still fairly small, being a long strip, but because large tiles are included the regions population should be able to get pretty high. Each tiles land mass is surrounded by water, in all cases this is enough for marina to be an option, very helpful in the later game to bust those aforementioned caps. -

Another almost flat land fantasy map here. This one uses a Mesopotamian Ziggurat as inspiration. I’ve tried to make things interesting buy splitting the Ziggurat down it’s center between two large city zones. But that’s not all. Ancient Ziggurat rarely came alone, each was part of a larger temple complex. I’ve included a number of other smaller structures, as well as some raised ritual pathways and intricate water works.
