  1. Simcity 2013 or simcity 4

Asking this question in a SC4 heavy community that would probably been unhappy with anything not SC4.5 is an exercise in pointlessness.
  2. wish we still had agriculture

They could probably end up adding it as DLC like the theme park where you can design the layout etc.
  3. All the cool kids know Derpshire is where its at. You can have 9,000 people unemployed, but it doesn't matter, because they own the tower block they live in.
  4. That's what you get for attracting all them pesky low wealth plebians!
  5. Is the game too easy?

I'll put it this way. SimCity games have always been like racing games that you play on your own. A rookie driver can drive as slow as he damn well pleases and feel awesome that he's still in first place, but that slow driving will be very easy. He will "win" because he is the only driver. A pro driver can drive as fast as he wants, but being on the limit is much harder to sustain and requires more skill to do without making mistakes. He knows he can "win" if he slows down, but he gets his enjoyment from pushing for the ultimate best he can do. The rookie driver who likes to drive slow can make the game harder by pushing more and getting out of his comfort zone. He will still "win". The pro driver can make the game easier by backing off and ceasing to strive for the best time. He will still "win". Long story short, for the majority of people, the game is as hard as you'd like it to be.
  6. Water shortage help

This is clearly not a gay situation for you! Probably just needs a sec to propagate.
  7. Small field low wealth parks are more effective than trees, you don't have to replant them (you can also plant trees on top of the parks). No space in this city to do that though, and I didn't really mind the ground pollution. Ill give the parks a try then. Thanks for the tip.
  8. This is what I meant in another thread about the game being easy to play, but not so easy to play "correctly" or "well". You're much better than me so I shouldn't comment, but imo you should spread your factories out a bit and get some trees in between them to stop the ground turning into a black bog around your industry.
  9. The counters restart at midnight and its 3:46 AM in your pic. There very well may have been crime previously. 41 criminals/day vs 27 arrests/day suggests you do indeed have a bit of criminal action going on there.
  10. Is the game too easy?

IMO, the difficulty of this game is directly related to OCD. (of which I have an over abundance, which makes every decision take longer). Is it easy to build up a big city? Sure. Is it easy to build up a big city with a good amount of efficiency and limited wasteful use of resources (that can actually fend for itself if one department of income dies)? Hmmm, not so much. Its easy to put the game into cheetah mode and just build up cash quickly. Its easy to make tower blocks that engulf your whole city. But a lot of the time when I visit these cities to see what's going on.......MASSIVE traffic due to road layouts, unemployment or under employment is rampant. Almost always in the red regarding hourly profit etc. I also never see people using trains or airports for some reason. I think its easy to play this game, but not so easy to master.
  11. It starts turning your existing commercial buildings into hotels that essentially "hold" your tourists in a shell that makes no money? For instance, a low wealth high density hotel can take upto what, 700 tourists? And that hotel can spring up anywhere, even the opposite end of the map. It doesn't even take 700 tourists to get the leaning tower of pisa, arc de triumph and one other thing I cant remember the name of to make max profits does it? Maybe I'm wrong, but its something I noticed yesterday. I built my first electronics city ever (wow..$$$$$$..dat money.....O_O ) and decided to add a tourist trap that consistent of three small, high attraction....attractions. All was good at first, all the tourists were literally concentrated in that area. And wouldn't go anywhere else. Constant attendance. All of a sudden, my commercial blocks (of which I had only three buildings in the whole city, but on the highway so high density, which were faaaaaaaar away from the attractions) all of a sudden turning into hotels and I'm pretty sure that's when things went to poop. Maybe I'll experiment again, but it seems that to have a consistent tourist city, all commerce must be in one place.
  12. I put small fire trucks in opposite corners of the map so that if there are multiple fires, it will be handled better. I also don't bother adding any other trucks because they both go to the same place (even during multiple, randomly spread, small fires) and don't seem to give any benefit for both of them being there. I build the large station if I build high density industry, but I never do.
  13. Getting rid of visitors

I'd agree that the use of fast play speeds can lead to things happening under your nose without you realising until its too late. Especially when things can take days to germinate and visually show conclusive effect.
  14. City Overrun With Criminals

You must have placed a Vu Tower.........or have no education and high unemployment etc.
  15. With well over 100 hours within the first month of play, I'd say yes. For all the song and dance about this game, I've had more hours of play time in the first month than I've put into other games.
