I drop thermite from 6,000 feet, completely obliterating the hill. After dancing to "Yankee Doodle", I create a mountain with my semi-awesome terraforming skills, then I create a mountain fortress, completely impenetrable. I add a humongous statue of myself, then leave the fortress door open. Realizing my mistakes, I abandon the fortress and create a sub-sub-sub basement for myself, that shall remain mine forever! Mwah-ha-ha! I claim the mountain

Does it get to the EA Games logo, then freeze and exit? If it does, check how much RAM you have. You'll need more than 512 MB to run the game. I had this problem before, then I discovered how little RAM I had. I added more RAM until I had 1 GB, then the game ran well. Try that, maybe it'll work -

Low wealth residential can really make your crime rate skyrocket, so aim for med-hi wealth. When a building is distressed, the stats will reset to 0. Just a few hints. I'll search for more. -
