Amazing downtowns everyone! I would post mine, but it's just a dozen of those darn Wren Insuraces at the moment, but when it's done there will be more variety.

Life isn't fair. Get used to it. I still can't play, either, because of some wierd bug, but you don't see me whining about it.

A Bucketload of Questions.

1. Use single road patches up to the coast so you get a nice, straight, steep edge, then plop your seawalls. Here is a tutorial on creating straght-edged coasts, and it has a small part at the end about seawalls, althouh it doesn't go in-depth about it. 2 I think El-rail, monorail, etc. do create traffic noise, but I'm not sure about that. Also, if you plant trees along the noisy roadways it will decrease traffic noise. This is alos the case for highway sound barriers along highways. 3. I think usually more rich sims use it, but i'm not sure about that, either. I would suggest laying it from industrial to residential to commercial, an put some parking lots near it as there is no place for sims to park before the board the monorail, and that decreases usage. 4. I don't think you want to raise taxes on anything. This won't create skyscrapers, it'll drive people outta town. Just give your sims eductaion (so that high-wealth offices will move in), and built out before you build up. Zone higher densities when the demand is for it. You'll just have to be patient because it takes a long time to get a huge metropolis going. -

I don't think there's anything you can download to get rid of retaining walls, but here is a tutorial about how to stop retaining walls from being built in low-density neighborhoods. Alternativly, you might want to see this thread.

I find that medium city tiles are best for building on. You have enough room to get some population and jobs. Small city tiles are, well, too small! Large city tiles I also like, and better than the medium city tiles because you have more room to build. But, with larger end cities, it can be a nightmare for loading times. So, I think medium tiles are the best; not to small and not too long to load.

That's bizzare. I wonder why he had snakes in his pockets?

redrummage: That sounds like a very bleak place. SimHoTToDDy: That looks like a very bleak place.

^^^ What "proof" is that? Looks like it was made in paint.

I think "school grade" is the average education level for a given area. I think you can find it it the education option in the data view panel (red is a low school grade, green is a good school grade). Or else try looking for it in graphs. You probably haven't been offered a university yet, because your school grade isn't high enough. Try checking your rewards menu, just in case you missed it.

Large City Tiles & Industry.

You could start a town there, give them education, and slowly replace the I-D and I-M with High Tech. Or, you could get and anti-pollution mod or lot from the STEX. -
Thanks, abcvs! I'm also glad to hear that you can transition from thr PPond water to the Brigantine Water mod because I have both and they both look great.

Making Money The Easy Way Tutorial

Or else you could used single road/street patches to level it out. It's more presise and works better then using the terraforming tools. -

There is also a blank model you can download; I use it (with the Lot Editor) to make my own parks, sometimes with extreme mayor rating, demand, or anti-pollution effects. The Plugin Manager really handy and easy to use.

Great Canal! I have several, but I will show them later after I work on the city some more. By the way, where'd you get the swing-bridges and the boat? I have both the PEG PPond Kit and The PEG PPond Canal Kit and no swing bridges. Is that a separate download, or in the new NAM, perhaps?

LEO: Just use a program like paint and resave it as a .jpg. I have another oddity to share! This can be done by selecting "Zones" in the Dataview panel and then entering the cheat "zoneria". Hope you like it!

As far as the crazy bridges are concerned, I don't think there is any way make bridges look like that in the game. As far as Puget Sound, I've never seen it except for on the box, so I doubt it's out there. Mabye there is a map/region of the actual Puget sound in Oregon, but not the one seen on the box, as that has cities, and it's not allowed to upload cities here.

#1: For money, query schools, hospitals, etc. and lower their funding to just above the capacity level, if you haven't already. Also, installing more mass transit is good because you will get more money from fares. If that doesn't help, then there are several money mods on the STEX. #2: If the UDI missions are too much of a hassle, don't bother with them for now. #3: Do you have the NAM? If you don't, you should download it immeadiatly. It makes more sims use mass transit and eases congestion on roads, and also haves sims take more direct routes to work, cutting commute times.
