I'd just PM an Admin or Oakenshield/zelgadis (the mods here), they'd probably do it.

Wow, great stuff, nice snow. By the way, where'd you get those giant industrial tanks? I've seen those and other similar BATS in other journals. I know it's from some Japanese site/BATer, I'm just not sure where.

Wow, I didn't even know there were 5 Mac CJs out there. Cool.
-
Well, I've been using Macs all my life and here's my CJ... https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=70468

This is beautiful so far. I've always wanted to do a 'nation', but my computer and patience couldn't handle it. Keep up the good work.

Planet Hopping in the Nova System - A galactic CJ
DigitalGekko replied to DigitalGekko's topic in SC4 City Journals
Alright, sorry about this but I'll have to hold off on updating this until further notice, as it suffering from technical problems I believe have something to do with the ammount of textures I'm using, and the constant texture changing. Several planets cause the game to quit when I try to load them with their texture. This might be a memory problem, I'm not sure. In any case, there is a good chance I will have a much a better computer by the end of the year. If that happens, I'll give this another try. I'm not closing this CJ anytime soon, but I think I may just need a system upgrade first. In any case, I am finishing up with my other region, and if I get it done by the weekend, I may start that. It's not a sci-fi epic, but it's still something you haven't seen here. Thanks for the comments so far, I'll be sure to get back on this when I can. -

Chapter Five The Swamps of Marshtom The last planet to be inhabited of the planets orbiting Omegarus, Marshtom was not seen as a suitable settling area by the alliance at first. It was founded by explorers, braving the new world from their own, personal spacecraft. Marshtom is about covered with about 70% swamplands, 50% of which is considered very dense, deep swamps. The first explorers agree to land here, in a forest of giant mangroves that reach at least forty feet. Swampville is the first town on the planet. As the town expands into the water, giant creatures are observed. The giant slug is twenty-feet long, while the insects are also huge. They pose a threat to the town, and must be guarded against. (sorry about the graphic bugs, I could never get over/under water structures to look right) To many, living here seems crazy. But others can't resist, and soon, another town is plotted, deep inside the swamps. The horn on the giant swamp slug's head is the prize for bagging one of the beasts. The hunters that have this horn earn a lot of respect. The slugs are actually agile, mean, and hard to take down. It is soon learned by the alliance that the planet's plant life is full of material that can be used in strong medicine, and they finally take interest. Meriton, a town lived in by 'normal people' is practically built over a marsh. Deep under the swamps are vast oil reserves. Oil has little practical use as fuel, but is still widely use for durable plastics and makeshift energy. The other side of the planet is covered with vegetation so thick, it is simply deemed as a reserve and will be left alone. (Typo... I did these at 2 in the morning... ) Ultra-cheap housing in Meriton. Watch out for giant mosquitos. Some how, some crazy hunter groups actually make a village in the middle of the reserve. Legend has it they keep giant slugs as pets. Marshtom - bring bug repellant and plenty of table salt! The photographer was never found. May have been picked up by giant Mosquito and brought to its nest. Time for some updates. Because of the massive industrial influx on Icy-Onia, much of the ice has melted. Even the biodome was deemed no longer needed. In places where the ice is thinner, trees begin to grow. Menjsk gets a simple starport. Factories thrive around the hypergate area. It is predicted that Icy-Onia will be able to provide water for another 150 years. When it runs out, water can still be brought from here, but in lower quantities. Another source may have to be found. Meanwhile, Farms keeps its peaceful atmosphere. Farms should have no problem feeding the system for years to come.
