  1. System Requirements?

What I've got: Athlon 64 1 GB of Ram ATI X800XL 256MB Card Purchased this machine in 2005 What I WANT: At least- Quad Core 4GB Ram (8GB if I can) Nvidia 9800 GTX 512 MB Card My wife and I have $1000 saved right now. Don't know if I'll be able to use much of that for a PC. I may have to wait until sometime next year. Or, settle for something a bit more toned down.
  2. Well, I have to say that while I like the concept and functionality Spore is working with, I am not impressed by the game. I love the IDEA behind it, but the graphics and some of the creatures in it just look too cartoonish for me. There's just something about it that isn't realistic enough. I would be overjoyed if Wright takes the Spore concept and applies it to SC5 with better, realistic graphics. I'm just not that excited about Spore. I'd rather see a new SimCity come out.
  3. Downtown High School

I've been noticing that many of the lots uploaded around 2004 or before have lost all their 'stuff', meaning files, various props, etc. This must be due to the simtropolis website revamp earlier this year.
  4. NexisCopperCo

Once again, this building is lacking many files. It only downloads at 50kb. It should be 10 or 20 times that with all the props. I assume this all occured when Simtropolis moved earlier this year?
  5. Walton Steel Corporation Milling Facility

Apparently this lot (and several other older ones on here as of late) have lost it's/their files. This whole thing only shows up as 38k when I go to download it. I used to have this downloaded on my old PC and it was something like 1-2MB. This and the other buildings with this issue must have occured when simtropolis was revamped earlier this year. :(
  6. Thanks for the replies! I realize the RAM is not an issue with content size. i was going to increase my RAM for larger regions with more stuff on the screen. I'm not too worried either about my 200GB Hard Drive. I guess I'll go about it from a building angle. I'll download the buildings/Objects I want and then go to the dependency packs as needed. That, or I'll go in reverse with the packs. After I initially posted I realized that downloading all at once would be hard without taking updates into consideration.
  7. I am thinking of downloading all the dependency packages from this site, so that I can easily download any building or lot without worrying about making sure I have the right dependency packages. Any idea how large all 7 pages of the dependency area is on this site? I have a computer that can accomodate up to 4GB of RAM. I will probably only upgrade to 3GB. I also will probably download all this on a flash drive somewhere other than my home b/c I only have dialup. My question is if any of you think it will be possible to do this all on 1 big flash drive? I also am planning on downloading some mods as well. I am looking at buying a 1 or 2gb flash drive. I only have a 256mb flash drive drive right now My comp specs are: AMD Athlon 64 3700+ processor 200gb Hard Drive up to 4GB DDR RAM X800XL 256mb Video card I am planning on being able to create quite the cutomizable region. Diverse mix of farms, industry, scenery, etc. I'll probably plop most of my stuff except for residential, farming and some commercial areas. Thanks!
