  1. This Idea for A STADIUM

An experienced stadium BATter could easily make that I believe, and the highway underneath would need transit enabling to be functional, which someone who knows how to do that could easily do.
  2. Certainly looking forward to this report! Could be very exciting!
  3. Severe Flooding in UK

It is saddening to see so much of Britain under so much water...I count myself lucky that my city has been practically unaffected (we've had lots of rain but a lot of sunny days and no flooding too). Does anyone know where this depression actually ends and which way it is going? It's so big it wouldn't surprise me if changing wind directions kept it over us for as long as 2 more months...

A great laugh! I agree with Duke. The sizes here are restrictive, but they aren't restrictive enough so that nothing can be done. Just look at everyone elses, which are mostly amazing! Better than on some forums my sister uses that have sig pics taking up entire SCREENS!...That's just plain unnecessary
  5. Pop causing cancer?

Well...considering all I've drunk for the last year or so is Coca Cola...I'm screwed...oh well! Darn immune system. If you have one then it kills you, but if you don't have one then everything else kills you, and even if you aren't killed by it or everything else you die eventually anyway!
  6. Manhunt 2 banned in UK and Ireland

Think for a second...how much different is this game from fencing?quote> Well fencing is a sport where precautions are taken to PREVENT injury (the edges of the sword are not sharp (as such), and the tip is blunted so it cannot penetrat the armour, plus the fgact that armour is present. The game WILL NOT be doing that, as you will actually be killing the animated characters. I'm amazed the game is being made in the first place considering the first one was pulled from UK shelves for a while when some person was killed and the killer was simulating things they'd seen in Manhunt.
  7. Is it Possible or Have we Reached The End?

Well...Teirusu managed to unlock 3 extra terrain tools a long time ago, yet none of them worked properly or had lasting effects. If we can finally unlock those tools to the fullest, we can finally have lakes on raised groud!

  9. Statue of Liberty

Does it replace the existing one or just add a new one to the menu? Either way it's a nice cosmetic addition that should have been there before.
  10. sim city new approach and suggestion list

A selection of eras to work through, each with it's own building style, like a 1900's era would have buildings styled like in the 1900's, the 1950's would have building styles from then, and so on, with decor to match. We could update our city from there as time goes on. An option to zone large areas for building if we don't mind what buildings go there, and the ability to plop the buildings too for detail should we want it. Also, be able to zone of areas we want to resevre for later so that we don't accidently build in them. Improved transportation systems, meaning that pathfinding is important, as well as including more efficient transportation systems such as trams, and able to place El train track above roads so it follows the same path (if El Train tracks are included). Seaports, Airports and beaches, all zonable (seaports and Airports available for ploppable should we want more detail, beaches are rather cruddy plopped as SC4 proved) That's all I can think of. Are we going to put all this into one huge list like I mentioned in chat?
  11. New info!

Yesterday...I said that I was fully behind this new game, thinking positively, thinking of all the great directions that the game could have taken based on what we have heard... Now I considering taking everything back...I don't know what to think now, because we clearly aren't getting a SimCity game. Why get rid of zoning, the thing SimCIty is famous for? Why get rid of the advisors, who get on our nerves constantly but we love them for it and take their advice if we need it? I hope those are still early shots of the game as the roads and that traffic light look absolutely awful. I don't know any roads that are perfectly square. I can say now that we have the Asian Tileset we've always wanted...right in the center of our "metropolis".... However, if it's fully ploppable then that won't be an issue. I DID mildly like the idea of the whole societies thing now they've explained it, but it seems to have been implemented in an extremely childish way. Security cameras will probably look like some cartoon thing. Spy cameras are for films and little kids, not games based on realism. All we can do now is to literally BEG Tilted Mill to call for a redesign and give the fans exactly what they've been waiting all these years for, no matter what the cost. Surely that's better than what would happen if they don't?
  12. Yesterday made the news...

Originally posted by: Ntq$310 hmm, i glad chris said that, but how could he make suck a big mistake like that!?!quote> Because it happens. People make mistakes. That is life. It's good that we now know what Chris meant when he made his first statement. I, after thinking through what the game could include, am now rather intrigued by it and am rather looking forward to the finished product! Do us proud Tilted Mill! Hold up high the infinitely burning torch that is SimCity once again!
  13. It Is Not Their Fault

I partly agree here. At the end of the day there is nothing we can do but accept this decision. However, SimCity is a tried and true formula and changing it is practically murder. SimCity is popular because of the way it always has been, a city simulator. EA plans to change this and as you can predict it has not gone down well at all! On release it is likely that, while the new game will attract new fans to the series, the old fan base will diminish to near nothingness, which WILL lose EA money, making the game a complete flop, thereby meaning no chance for a SimCity 6. As for Tilted Mill making the game, I do appreciate them asking the fans on their input and that is how it should be, but whether they take those inputs on board is another matter. I am willing to put trust in them and hope that they can at least do something to improve the series somehow. Chances are they wouldn't waste their time developing it if they didn't think they could make a good game out of it that reflects the success of the series. It would, however, be more ideal if Maxis made the game as it is their hard work that has made the game and the company what it is today. Maybe EA and Maxis had a bust-up on what they wanted for the game and therefore EA gave the development to Tilted Mill...that we will never likely know. I hope the game will turn out ok and that EA can finally pull out a quality game that will reflect the rest of the franchise. It just requires our support.
  14. WORLD

Wow! I'm psychic! I predicted that London would be shown Awesome recreation! Looking forward to Sydney!
  15. WORLD

Those two cities alone are some of the most accurate and beautiful representations of real cities that I have ever seen! Truely outstanding! One presumes you are only making cities that have the landmarks included in the game and those that are on this site. I'd love to see a recreation of places like London and Sydney just to see how you do it
  16. Tripolis- One of 3 capital cities!

Nice start! I like the terrain. Very interesting and different to what I remember seeing elsewhere. Just look at some other journals for extra tips and hints on how you can make this journal shine through as that is something I'd like to see
  17. The price to pay to be beautiful.

One guesses you can never have a functioning region that is perfectly beautiful unless you cheat. I suppose we need cities that are full of ugly, crime infested, polluted, congested cities just to keep the population (which leads to economy) growing, just like in real-life. Just shows how in-depth a simulator SC4 actually is.

  19. Global Warming

It's all very well saying that humans cause global warming, but so do all the other animals, such as cows, but we don't go and ask them to stop passing wind do we? Its's the same for all animals, we all produce methane, we all produce carbon dioxide and use up oxygen during respiration. Volcanoes release HUGE amounts of greenhouse gases and other toxic gases, but we don't go and ask them to stop erupting because more and more CO2 is entering the atmosphere. At the end of the day we are trying to disrupt the course of nature, trying to slow it down, with no effect, which spurs everyone on to take even more drastic measures, which then don't work and the cycle continues.
  20. Command & Conquer 3

I also have had problems with online mode on my copy...oh well...the Scrin are fun in skirmish (yet to unlock their campaign)
  21. ZOMG wayy better than CityLife
