REPLIES: Schulmanator: thanks. jotauveefe: thanks. jrhnemo: thanks. I'm planning to continue until at least the 1970's jacqulina: thanks. N106: thanks. but it won't be historic for long... citybuilder12: thanks. the tree stealers must be brought to justice! UPDATE 6: A Town Grows November 2nd, 1889 We went into Copperfield Canyon (look back at the picture of it from Update 4) and went into the Paloma Valley Law Enforcement building. We hired a man named Detective Oscar Sterling to investigate what happened to the trees. In return, we offer him a piece of the ranch. November 5th, 1889 It has been 3 days. Detective Sterling has recovered the trees and arrested the ones who stole the trees. They are now sitting in a jail in San Bernardino (closest major city to Sta. Paloma Valley). We planted the trees today, and they look fabulous. Here's a picture. November 11th, 1889 It's been extremely hard work tending the new trees and caring for the cows for the past week. It is too tiring. I don't think I can do this alone much longer. I need some help... November 12th, 1889 We went to Copperfield Canyon again to place flyers for the ranch. It was then I realized we never named the ranch. I thought of the name Eisel Ranch, but I thought it was too simple. So, I added a Spanish twist to it and called it Rancho del Eisel. We also need to build lodging for the new workers. November 19th, 1889 We finished the lodging for the new workers. They are just two simple bunkhouses just off the trail. November 20th, 1889 Detective Sterling came to the ranch today, and said that he no longer wanted his piece of the ranch. Instead, he wished to open a store by the bunkhouses. We granted his wish and Sterling's County Store was opened in the village. He also built himself a small house. December 25th, 1889 Our first Christmas in Rancho del Eisel arrives. Understandably, the high desert of California doesn't receive much snow like back in ol' Connecticut, but who needs snow for Christmas? The village has grown explosively. We now have a church, a bank, a city building (the barn thingy), where the school, fire department, and Paloma Valley Law Enforcement are based, as well as Sterling's County Store, which has recently expanded to 4 locations in San Bernardino (2 there), Copperfield Canyon, and, of course Rancho del Eisel. 74 people now live in the village.

Railways located in the median of the Expressway?
A.Aperson replied to Need4Camaro's topic in Architecture & Urban Planning
In Los Angeles, most of the Metro Green Line runs down the median of the 105. -
I would suggest posting the building at Can't Find It? Ask Here! BTW, i can't wait to see this because I live in Minneapolis and have been up to St. Cloud many times.

REPLIES: dfnva: Thanks! selles: Thanks! Twenty20: Thanks! Schulmanator: Thanks! UPDATE 5: Ranch Developments + Teaser! October 19th, 1889 We have ordered a herd of cows for the ranch, as well as some orange trees. Both will take roughly a week to arrive. Here is the empty cow pen we have built. The Grove is to the right. October 25th, 1889 It has been exactly a week since the order was placed for the cows. They came right on time, along with other ranching supplies, like hay, feed troughs, etc. We put in grass, hay, and food and water troughs and herded the cows in. Below is the finished cow pen. October 30th, 1889 It's almost been two weeks since the orange tree orders were placed, but no trees have arrived. They were supposed to arrive nearly a week ago. Our field remains bare. 5 days ago though, I saw some people carrying a bunch of orange saplings up our trail. Did they steal them? I am suspicious... I conclude this update with a teaser:

REPLIES: bluemoose: Thanks! TmiguelT: Thanks! feliwi: Thanks! chrissc94: Thanks! Amryai200: Thanks! Just kinda curious, where did you get inspiration from to do Adobe Springs? UPDATE 4: Surveying the Trail October 14th, 1889 We are completely ready to take in seeds, fruit trees, cows, and other things for the ranch. The only problem is that we are not connected to the outside world yet. Therefore, we must find a way back to the Santa Paloma Valley Trail or we will miserably fail. So far, our connection barely extends a bit past the oasis. Tomorrow, we will begin work on extending the trail. October 15th, 1889 Today, we being work on the trail. It will be a difficult challenge as we are not quite sure where the trail is. When we wandered up to the Oasis, we came from the south. We are also located in a valley. As we wandered, we stayed withing the valley. Thus, I have deduced that we should follow the valley. Hopefully my guess is right. Here is the first extension area. The trail can be seen on the right-hand side. After extension. October 16th, 1889 More extending. We are continuing to follow the valley. The valley has become very apparent now. We have extended the trail all the way down the valley. Unfortunately, it ends in mountains. I will need some time to figure out a solution. October 17th, 1889 We decided that we will weave the trail through the mountains. Here is a picture of some of the weaving. The trail emerged out the mountains and met the Santa Paloma Valley Trail just to the north of a small settlement called Copperfield Canyon. The trail is complete!

REPLIES: De Ja Vu: Thanks. I never thought of the Eisel Family like Bear Grylls before. ironicepitome: Thanks. You'll just have to wait and see... jacqulina: Thanks. It's an honor to have a CJ great like you comment. UPDATE 3: HOMESTEAD September 20th, 1889 Today, while exploring, we found a grove of trees. After a lot of consideration, we have decided that we will homestead here. The oasis and the grove make it a nice place nice. We have water and food here. Why not? October 4th, 1889 We have been hard at work building a house for the past few weeks using wood from the grove. Finally though, we finished the house. Our next step is to fence our land claim. October 7th, 1889 More hard work. Our claim of 1,000 acres will take a while to fence. Already though, we have some of the fence complete. October 13th, 1889 We have almost finished fencing our claim. Just one thing remains to be put in. We put in the final piece: a gate. The fence is complete. We still need cows to ranch and seeds to grow. Also, we need workers for the future ranch. How will we get these things?

REPLIES: De Ja Vu: Thanks! I'm glad you like the first pic! Teeparex: Thanks! The Eisels won't die anytime soon. Raysfan16: Thanks! Schulmanator: Thanks! Hawkeye9: Thanks! Bamafan: Thanks! Archean: Thanks! I'm not going to kill the girl off. Buildsolid: Thanks! Feliwi: Thanks! It'll take a while for some development, Sta. Paloma Valley will move slowly. Twenty20: Thanks! UPDATE 2: OASIS September 17th, 1889 We have been without water for a day now. Our mouths are parched. I fear I may be writing my final words. Night falls. Hungry vultures surround us, waiting for us to collapse and die. September 18th, 1889 Finally, a miracle has occurred. We found an oasis in the desert. We drank and drank and drank and ate wild oranges from the orange grove. We also killed several birds and roasted them. Our bellies are full and our throats are no longer parched. Now, the next challenge is getting back to the trail...

Albertsons/Sav-on Description: An Albertsons grocery store. Something similar to www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm would be nice. albertsons.com en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Albertsons,_Inc. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albertsons_LLC Why this would be beneficial for the game or community: It would give variety to the number of supermarkets available, and give more realism for people recreating cities in SC4.

LE0: The road at the bottom of the first pic leads to a mid-sized town. The mid-sized town is about 4 large city tiles away from the small one. There's also a couple tiny settlements scattered around.

Thank you, elemented9!

I am looking for a terrain mod that is similar to Southern California's terrain. Also, some flora would be nice also, but not necessary. The important thing is the terrain.

Here's my proposal. The commercial arrows didn't show up too well though...

Is Tony Jaa the mayor?

I love how you combine high density residential and commercial together with the parks. Keep it up!

The Story of Mount Rose and Mount Grace, California
A.Aperson replied to Jillybean86's topic in SC4 City Journals
I freaked out for a bit there until I saw the april fools. Nice prank. -
I would highly appreciate it if someone made an Albertson's/Sav-on.

If it's the year 2029, doesn't that make Hillary Clinton, like, Eighty-something years old? <shudders> Plus, wouldn't she have betrayed Lord Barry in 2012 by running against him?

I would like to see a el rail over road station, if possible. Then, compact mass transit in urban areas would be possible.
-
Is it possible to create a new style of building (like Houston 1990)? Maybe Hong Kong 2000, or Medieval style, etc. That would be nice. If this is in the wrong category, I apologize.
