Commuting... once again
thefunktopus commented on TekindusT's City Journal Entry in Tenements & Rust: Ghetto Stories
This is one of my favourite CJs, so much so that I actually rated it. You got an extra star for having the LHD version of the game ;) -
New Chandler National Railway
thefunktopus commented on k50's City Journal Entry in New Chandler III
Nice map and explanations of rolling stock. Not many people go into so much detail. Infact, I'd bet there are a number here who don't know what 'rolling stock' even is! -
Going to be uploading first lot soon

My airport wont expand...
thefunktopus replied to Stewie2552's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
when an airport is nearly at full capacity the transport adviser asks if you wanna upgrade -increasing the capacity that's why the airports are listed as "small" in the menu rmip is a modular airport download thing, you can use it to make realistic airports -
Nice map -I've been experimenting with maps too. You should display them in the Show us your transit maps 2 thread.

yukkertt More specifically they are (in appearance order) shmails stations and scs's station Search for these names and they'll come up. Again, nice update -night views look good but imho that heavy rail station looks unrealistic -not enough platforms.

thefunktopus replied to 9988's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Large:250,000 Medium:600,000 Small: 30,000 I crammed a lotta skyscrapers into that medium (all res, com tile next door). Had a lotta parks and green space though... -
Best looking buildings in the world
thefunktopus replied to TowerDude's topic in Architecture & Urban Planning
I really like Canada Tower (commonly referred to as Canary Wharf). In fact, all the buildings in the Docklands are nice, except for one horrible brown concrete hotel. Canada Tower is the middle building in this picture (and the tallest): -
This is my main CBD (oldish photo): And the transition to suburbia (again old pic):

These are really professional! This is my rail map for one city in my region. West park standard rail station is close to greenboro east 3GV highspeed rail station. Here's my first, simple one. I chose the high speed rail as I knew all it's stations. Sorry about the little logo thingy. Paint isn't meant for serious graphic design. Anyway I can say local schoolchildren designed it...

Afraid I have no more, but I'm off to take some!

Thanks, TBH, I don't know, the buildings are still there but its probably a road now and one may even have an el rail on top.. And I have the NAM on high capacity, so street capacity is ~1400.

You're probably both experiencing multicore CPU issues. If you have a processor with more than one cores you must tell SC4 each time you play to only use one core. To do this, whilst playing SC4 bring up task manager. Click the processes tab. Right click the simcity 4 process, and select set affinity. In the window, uncheck all the boxes but one. You have to do this every time you play SC4.

Idea for building: Department of Transportation
thefunktopus replied to coachmcguirck's topic in NAM & Transit Networks
Good idea, most of those are available in different places but an amalgamation would be useful. -
There is something called a dual track crossover, included with the NAM. It's basically and X shape where trains can cross. It is 1x4 or 4 and in the Railway FARR pieces menu.

Desktop.. Everyone has one of these!
thefunktopus replied to The Milkman's topic in General Off-Topic
Wow lots of XP still! I have Windows 7, and my background is the earth which gets updated every 5 minutes to show the position of night and day. -
And for mine... (If it gets me extra credit they broth grew naturally -no plops here!)

I prefer the cul-de-sac method as it allows me to place lots of trees, and gives a visual barrier between homes.
