I'm sorry if this was posted somewhere else already. For all the people who had to endure the horrible launch of SimCity, I guess this is one bit of good news: EA was voted to be the worst company in America by Consumerist. http://www.gamespot.com/news/ea-named-worst-company-in-america-by-consumerist-6406640 http://games.yahoo.com/blogs/plugged-in/electronic-arts-named-worst-company-america-again-170932002.html I'm not going to lie, I hate Comcast and some other companies just as much as I hate EA, but it's nice to see EA get the kick in the rump that they deserve. They have a lot of potential and have some of the greatest titles under their name, I hope they get their act together soon. Anyone else have any thoughts?

Yeah, I agree. I just want them to care about the games they make and about customer satisfaction. They publish a lot of big titles...it's a shame to see those games do so badly.

A Free PC Download From Origin for SimCity Launch Customers

I'm just going to take the game and run. Still not going to buy an EA game after all this... -
EA - Now going after Origin accounts / Sim City keys of people who complained
snake117 replied to Charizard's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
I've heard of this happening before...surprised they're still at it. After all this crap with SimCity and Battlefield 3, I decided that I am no longer going to buy any games with the letters 'EA' written on them. I know it won't do much to the company, but it's nice to know that they won't be getting my money / ripping me off. -

Completely agree with you on this. If it was solely based on piracy, they would've learned from past fiascos, like Diablo 3. Instead, they are using piracy as a cover up to add DRM. I'm going to take the free game and run. I had problems with the launch of Battlefield 3 and now SimCity, two titles that I have always enjoyed playing and both with poor launches because of EA's actions. No one should have to suffer a headache when they pay premium price for a game. Plus, when you get a statement like: "SimCity possibly one of the worst rated Amazon products in history" or a petition on whitehouse.gov, that is a sign of just how careless, corrupt, and controlling the companies are nowadays. I'll keep trying out SimCity 2013, since they already have my money, but no more purchases through EA/Origin unless there is a huge overhall in management and they get their act together. I'm sorry if this sounds too radical, but enough is enough. -
My "article" on simcity - how bad is it
snake117 replied to fabsies55's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
I agree with you completely. After you place a police and fire station, schools, garbage dumps, street car/bus stops, power and water plants, and whatever else you virtually "need" to make a functioning city, you have a small space left for RCI zoning. I'm not taking too kindly on the whole "pure city specialization" concept either; I like to build self-sustaining cities. -
I agree with pretty much everything you said except this. Because everyone raised their voices at Maxis and blasted EA, I feel like they are working much harder to fix all the problems. Now, will they offer offline play because of all the repeated complaints? In this case you're probably right; they are not going to listen.

Maxis: A SimCity Update - And something for your troubles
snake117 commented on Dirktator's article in News
For me it's not even in the realm of SimCity but in the whole video game business: games aren't as interesting as they used to be and companies, like EA, amongst others, are forcing online content. I just want a game that I can sit down and play for an hour or all day if I want too; I don't want to update my Facebook status in-game or be forced to play with others. My apologies if this sounds to radical of a stance, but I'm actually asking for less not more. -
Trash not getting picked up
snake117 replied to Shiphted's topic in SimCity (2013) Technical Help Q&A
You're not the only with this problem. I maxed out my trash dump with all the garages and it seemed effective, but for only half my city. I have a street car and bus system that are maxed out as well and still don't really improve traffic conditions, so my garbage trucks can never make it to the other side of the city. -
Yeah you're not funny.

Building lights will not come on
snake117 replied to snake117's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I already downloaded that patch and installed it (thank you though). Any other ideas? -
I downloaded quite a bit of buildings from Simtropolis and I can construct them within the game just fine but the only problem remains that they will not light up when it turns nighttime. I was curious to know if their was some sort of dependent file that i had to download? Because when i downloaded the buildings I checked and it said that their were no dependecies. Any solutions? Thanks.

I want to download this building (https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?id=19674) but apparently it has been locked by the admin. Will it ever be unblocked and if it will how long will i have to wait? Thanks.
