www.newegg.com will take your $1000 bucks a pretty long way. Im getting a Dual-Core AMD cpu, 4GB ram, an ATI HD4670, and a good mobo, PSU, and CD/DVD burner for under $400. That 9800 GTX will eat a good chunk out of your budget though. Your current config should be able to at least play it.

An F6 tornado is not unheard of. In fact, in march of 1999 an F5 tornado came very close to being just that. And heres another (seasonal) disaster we get here in the midwest: Ice Sorms. Natural disasters should affect entire regions.

SC4Terraformer, a tool for regional handterraforming
Morofry replied to wouanagaine's topic in SC4 Modding - Open Discussion
well my problem was suddenly fixed when i downloaded the MSCVP71.DLL dll file. you can find a link to it in the readme. -
I was not able to fix the broken link but here is the actual url: http://www.gpureview.com/show_cards.php Like I said; an X1550 should be (what I think) the bare minimum to run the game at a TOLERABLE framerate. Im not limiting your options only to AMD/ATI, I only state what I know.

I have a nitpick here: According to the screenshots, the stoplights are still not right. They should be placed on the FAR side of the intersection FROM the the lane its controlling. You don't see stoplights placed before an intersection in the real world. I mean, how on earth would you be able to see them then? I am also curious as to weather a Linux version of this game will be released. Although its doubtful that a Linux version will be released; I will not, for the life of me, upgrade to Windows Vista. I've tried it and hated it. Halo 2 and 3 aren't worth that price.

Two things that I want to see that no one has mentioned yet are: The ability to span bridges across city borders and the ability to AT LEAST build transportation networks under them.

If your video card is below an ATI 9500 card or equivalent, It means just that. An example would be any integrated graphics chipset made prior to 2 years ago or all chips made by Intel. After just reinstalling WinXP, I get this error when I try to run it: Traceback (most recent call last): File "SC4Terraformer.py", line 1, in ? File "zipextimporter.pyo", line 78, in load_module File "SC4TerraformerApp.pyo", line 3, in ? File "zipextimporter.pyo", line 91, in load_module ImportError: MemoryLoadLibrary failed loading tools3D.pyd Good thing a logfile was implemented. And I get the same result from downloading the file fresh from the server.

SIM CITY 4 Downloads and Plugins
Morofry replied to sam110684's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I just remembered another person here gave me this very link. -
Specifically I want the bldgprop packs- both of them. But due to a long time ago thing and EA's less than helpful help, I am unable to directly download them. Does anyone know how or where to get them?

CaptCity: Thank you so much for that link. socalwu: That doesn't make sense. But I'm not a business man. -
SIM CITY 4 Downloads and Plugins
Morofry replied to sam110684's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I think what he means is to get Maxis files without actually registering at maxis to get them. Sam is not referring to the STEX or any other 3rd party site unless it contains official Maxis files. I'm trying to do the very same thing. -
This should help those who are confused with graphics cards: Ta-Da!!! Since the X1550 wasn't found by me, use the x1300Pro as a reference. It will give a pretty accurate result.

From what I can tell from the trailer, you'll need at the very least an nVidia 7500 class or ATI x1550 class video card to at least run it. In terms of CPU, a 1.8GHz AMD Athlon 64 or equivalent cpu should do just fine. 1GB of ram is minimum, 2gigs is good, but if possible 4gigs or RAM will serve you well. That's what I can tell so far. Remember to correct me when the official requirements come out.

If I may interject; what we could use in the game is that there be no rule requiring that zones be built directly next to roads. In SC4, the PedMall tiles could really come to use if some zones could be built next to them instead of roads. This could greatly expand gameplay value and diversification. Also it would be great for roadless and island communities.

Personally I don't like the idea simply because I'm trained to believe that I should only have to pay once for a game in order to enjoy all of it benefits. Call me a loser, but I just don't like the idea. This is mostly due to the fact that I don't have a job and my parents won't even come close to paying for this for me. You may mock me all you want, it's still not going to change my mind. Edit: Another thought that occurred to me: While I don't like monthly subscriptions, I am quite comfortable with the idea of paying for separate expantions.

Renewing an old topic sure is fun. I want to know where I can get these: BSC Mega Props - Misc Vol01 CSX Mega Props Vol03 Its for the Rayden Nuclear Power Plant I just downloaded. SC4devotion is offline (as in nonexistant) right now.

Originally posted by: onlyplace4 You can also get the BAT and Lot Editor from the Downloads page on my site ... www.simcities.comquote> Uhh... theres a problem with your link: It's broken. It redirects me to another page thats red and green and has nothing but links to other sites on it. My plight is that I registered my game at simcity.com, but I have long forgotten that account name and password. The other thing is that the e-mail address I supplied to the site is incorrect (it used to redirect to the correct site but it doesn't anymore.). Instead of using @yahoo.com, I used @yahoomail.com. So I screwed myself in a sense. I don't think tech support would be helpful.

It is a very good seaport; however, when I say yes to the upgrade request, the seaport disappears, its still there; the capacity goes to a max of 7, and the maintenance cost skyrockets to an obscenely high level that immediately bankrupts my city. I've done this while using it in conjunction with the seaport rail station.

Apparently it doesn't render right as only the base of the structure (parking lot, grass, building foundation) shows along with the smoke. Also; I uncovered a bug in which if you destroy the building your air pollution will max out city-wide both on the data view and data charts. Otherwise, quite effective. Good job.

I am not a fan of the industries using freight truck whenever possible. I mean, come on man, use the friggin freight station. Im currently looking for the Car-only blocks. Another thing that bugs me is the zoning tool. They don't wanna go the way you want them to. And the last thing is just a nit-pick. I want to build roads under dry-land bridge segments.
-
I have a few ideas in which some of them should have been implemented long ago. We should be able to build roads/rail under non-support over land bridge sections. Also a rail bridge over ground level highways would be useful too. And I have one last (crazy?) idea too. This idea would require some in depth thinking and would probably be voted as impossible anyway. Allow highway interchanges to express some creativity by allowing 45/135 degree interchanges (diagonal/straight) and or non-straight interchanges in where if someone doesn't get what i'm saying, ill have to draw a picture because i don't know how to explain it in text. The end.
