I want to point out some limitations in Gmax that may really worsen this problem. In short, what may worsen the detail problem in gmax are the reindering method and the problem linked with the object count. Differently from 3ds max, you can't do much to adjust your rendering method, and you can't change your lighting rig as well. You should also add that gmax renders are less precise than 3ds ones. Let's go to the object count problem.Gmax can't handle very well a large number of polygons, and large models can significantly slow down the program not only in rendering, but also while modelling.Some large project like the Al Burj are impossible to BAT with gmax, simply because it can't handle your model.

Thank you SC4 meister,english is not my first language so i did not know this meaning of sick. My desktop has a lot of applications downloaded from the web (like the transparent startmenu, the theme, the sidebar), the background is a pic i've found after a Google search and i' ve expanded it to fit with my desktop, the startmenu skin was partially tweaked by me, but i should credit the one who first created it and made it available for download. There is a beautiful website where you can find this and much more, it is callled www.deviantart.com. Anyway, the pic i've posted is exactly the desktop i use now, withouth tweakings or photo-manipulation. If you have any question please ask me.

A good way to know which details you must put into your BAT is to look at some photos of the building you're BATing or of some buildings similar to the one you're BATing.You can realize which details are important and which other are petty. Try to BAT a section of your building and make a preview render of it.Check if the render is looking good, if you can see the details you've provided, if they extrude too much or looks blurry.If you're having some problems, just try to re-model what looks wrong.Be careful, and with subtle modelling and a fair amount of trials and errors you will get the right result. I should also point out that texturing might really help in give details to a building.A plain wall can look really differerent with the right texture, and some details can be included this way. However, you can't just model a box, drag a texture to it and call it a BAT.It would be fine in sketchup, but BATs and maxis building are far more detailed that this. Also, it would be a good idea to always BAT some parts that are small but effective, like window frames. Any suggestion?

I agree with cannabis legalization, but i may also point out some objections against it: -We can't say that cannabis is always harmless.There are some situations where cannabis use is dangerous for you and those around you.For istance, while driving.On the other side, even legal things like alchool have this downside. -Cannabis legalization does not necessarily cut drug dealing.There are many other more harmful substances that are sold by drug dealers, so they profits would not be really cut down. -Cannabis use must be regulated.We cannot forget that it may harm your health on the long term, and that this is not a product that is suitable for everyone.It would be very difficult to establish precise rules withouth being uneffective or unfair. The latest version of Firefox should work on a 2004 pc (i use firefox 3.0 with my father's pc that was purchased earlier) and does read Simtropolis 6.0.Try to download it.

I suggest to add some variation to the windows and the roof.I don't think it fits bad in SC4, you still need some tweakings, but what you have is pretty good.

Odainsaker:I don't know if i'm the right person to ask this, but may you elaborate more?

From your last picture i think that using a matching colour would be better, but i did not see it with it's trees and all the stuff, so i don't know what the final effect will be. Another suggestion is to check if your inner road matches with maxis ones.

The first four variations of your bungalow are amazing, here's my two cents for the last four: -red, black roof:the 5th variation in your picture.You may try to fade the red a bit -blue white, green and white, red and white.You may try to dark a bit your white texture, and add some dirt to it. Great BAT, i really want to download it!

I think it would be great if you can make the inner road ant the garage ramp of the same colour.
