  1. Not sure if it's possible. I have looked at all the different road/highway options in the NAM (I think) and can't find the right combination. Anyway I am wondering if I can connect these two MIS's to the end of an RHW-2? I know there is a dual ramp for this but I don't want the end of the road where the 'Y' is to continue. If it's not possible with this setup maybe those of you more experienced in road and highway building have some suggestions.
  2. Assistance with an intersection...

So right. Computers need to have a built-in program with a pop up that flashes "GO TO BED!" After several hours of operation.
  3. Assistance with an intersection...

Ahhh yes. That's what I kept looking for but couldn't find it. So, after some sleep and reading your reply I checked again and presto, there it is. Amazing what a good night's sleep can do.
  4. I thought this worked fine since it gave me no issues when building but when I turn on draw paths I get these green 'X's. does this mean that traffice in heading into each other here or am I ok? I do not see double yellow lines anywhere so I am confused about these spots.
  5. A little help needed please...

You're OK. OK, thanks, you just saved me a ton of work.
  6. A little help needed please...

So am I ok as far as traffic flow or do I need to redo it?
  7. A little help needed please...

What is a pathing error? I could move the MIS and RHW-4 over so they go under a straight section of the ramp but I would have to rebuild several other areas as well. I guess a good rule of thumb is to build with draw paths on to make sure everything is ok. If traffic will flow in the proper direction then I will leave it but just wondering if anyone knows.
  8. NAM General Support

When it's ready. NAM 31(.0) was the only time in the history of the NAM when a release date was given. I can also say with certainty that it will never be done again. We like to surprise people I know y'all aren't putting out anymore dates. I am waiting with baited breath for the surprise when I check daily for the update. It's like opening a present everyday. Except the box is empty. I know one day there will be the present I eagerly await.

I am using the 4GB patch and have been for quite some time, I used it with the logic bomb launcher and now with this new one too, works just fine...for me. Some folks...you got to watch closely, some folks will change multiple things on their PC at once and when things go wrong they just pick one of those things and blame it, not exactly scientific method you know. I have an acronym for this, I call it a p.i.c.n.i.c., Problem In Chair Not In Computer and is almost always the case. Yea, that's one thing I've learned is that most of the time the issues most people have aren't because of what they think it is but because they have their system so wrapped around the axle the first thing they think of is the last thing they installed. I like your PICNIC acronym. It's fitting. I checked around, and found exactly one person who had this conflict, while I found many others who had no problem at all using this combination. I can't think of any problem with the patch that would explain such behavior. I have been using it with the old and the new launcher and have had no issues with it. I thought I read that more than one had an issue but I could have been wrong. I like the fact that I can now use the L3 and L4 pieces. Thanks for your input and help.

Could you please provide a pointer to the posts describing this? It simply sets the Large Address Aware Flag in the executable's header. Google "Large Address Aware" for more information on how this works. As fast as we can get it done. I've been tinkering with it. I think I made it work. I did it and it made a backup of the sc4 executable file. I opened the game with launcher and everything worked fine. Oh and I reinstalled nam 31.1 with the extended controller. Everything seems to be working fine. No crashes and the L3 part worked like I wanted it to. I will keep playing with it. Thanks for your help. Y'all are doing a wonderful job with the NAM.
  11. NAM General Support

I did some research on this patch. I've seen where others have been unable to use sc4 launcher with this. I checked it out and downloaded it. Don't quite understand how it works though. Can you give me some insight on it? Oh and any idea when 31.2 will be out. I know y'all are working hard and I am patiently waiting. Just curious though.

    What is the 4GB patch?

I noticed the list of items in the documentation under starter pieces doesn't match what I have. Basically there are L3 and L4 starters in the documentation but I don't see them anywhere in the game. I am looking to cross an elevated highway with an MIS. I have an L2 EMIS to L3 EMIS Transition Starterless but don't see any way of connecting it to anything. Here's a pic of what I'm trying to do. Maybe I'm just not finding the right combination of pieces.
  14. NAM 31.1 Technical Support and Bug Report Thread

I stumbled on a way to make this work. If you place the ramp by itself it works fine. You can then drag the highway from both ends. It'll do till 31.2 comes out.
  15. NAM 31.1 Technical Support and Bug Report Thread

It's been fixed on our end, and the fix will be available soon in NAM 31.2. Ok, thanks.
  16. NAM 31.1 Technical Support and Bug Report Thread

Any ideas on the sinkhole effect I mentioned yesterday? Just curious.
  17. NAM 31.1 Technical Support and Bug Report Thread

After looking I didn't see this in any post. When I place the "RHW-4 Type A1 Wide Exit" It does this: It actually worked once but I haven't been able to make it work again. Edit - Ok, found out how I made it work that one time. when you place the ramp by itself it works fine. You can then drag the highway from both ends. However, if you place the ramp on an already built highway you get the dredded sinkhole. Maybe this helps in figuring out what may be wrong.
  18. Yea, everything works fine when I cancel it. I tried running the update and the update window comes up and just sits there and does nothing.
  19. I started getting the same thing today. Is there an update?
  20. Kept seeing pictures of roads and highways and such with different color arrows on them. I always thought they were just something you programmers out there could do to make a point or find errors on the roads. Well just realized it was in the list of extra cheats. Guess I should look at the list sometimes and see what's in there huh? Anyway, my question is, how do you read the arrows? Since I have finally broken down to take the time to learn how to use the NAM and most or all of it's wonderful features this little item will come in handy for me.
  21. Question about Draw Paths

    Ok, thanks for the info.
  22. Question about Draw Paths

What about red? Does that mean there is something wrong with the intersection?
  23. NAM General Support

Thanks Tarkus, kinda thought there wasn't any way to make it work. I'm getting more familiar with the different aspects of the NAM so my road building is getting a bit better. I'll just have to make do with what I've got. Thanks for the reply.
  24. NAM General Support

I don't know if this is possible but I'll ask. I am new to all the NAM stuff and I have learned a great deal through trial and error. My question is this, is there anyway to make intersections with FAR's? I have found that when I have to angle a road or highway when I want to make an intersection I have to straighten out the network because I am not allowed to cross that section as the road turns red when I do. I know you can make intersections work with the regular networks of avenues and OneWay's but the TuLEP's don't want to cooperate then either. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Here's a picture of what I mean.
  25. NAM 31 Central Bug Tracker Thread

I'll cycle through them to let you know which ones. There may be more than one but I'll get back with you on that. Edit: Well Tarkus, it's like having a noise in your car and when you get to the mechanic the noise isn't there anymore. I went to the RHW-4 B1 ramps and they all worked fine. I couldn't remember exactly which one was giving me the issue but I couldn't duplicate the missing string at all. Maybe next time I just need to exit the game and restart it. When it happens again I will let you know what pieces it happens on. Thanks for your help.
