I'm a people crammer so I tried to build the largest city possible. It's so vague to me now! I believe I got to about a million? That was like the biggest thing for me, and now I'm building regions of the multi-millions. haha Too bad they don't have the Asian tileset anymore for SC4K. I wish Maxis would've included more tilesets for SC4K, but then again look at all the amazing Asian stuff we have on ST!

So I used Somy's Microwave Rectenna Powerplant (https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=11118) Lucky me I put it in the middle of my nicest city. It got underfunded and proceeded to nuke the dead centre of my city-region. It's left behind a giant radiation circle/dead area. I've left the city running for about 200 game-years after the explosion. Still nothing. Any idea how long it takes for radiation to go away? Or if there is a way to get rid of it, I can't find any fixes for this. Please help.

A city with population of at least 1000000
TRNSTN replied to Alba_'s topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Largest I've ever had was about 1.1 million on a medium tile, I had to use population caps landmarks 5 times, and the medium tile city beside it was entirely industrial -
That sucks for the gorillas, they have been evading us for so long making us think they were extinct, and then we find their hide out.... Makes me wonder how many other animals have as a specides decided to just ditch their other homes because we've been messing everything up... It's gonna be like a million Dodos in some remote cave one day.

I like the growth pictures! Any close-up shots of the city-centre before it is/was tranformed into a more European styled city?

Originally posted by: belfastuniguy I disagree with government having a 'limit' on the volume of music players, its completely ridiculous and if people want to deafen themselves then that's their problem, not something for the government to issue a policy on. In my view their time is better spent on other things.quote> It's not that big of a deal if the government regulates how loud your music player devices can go. It wouldn't waste a lot of time becuase it's just common sense and sometimes you just need to enforce that common sense through policy. I think the man is to blame for not bieng more aware of his surroundings. Completely blocking out noises and having a hood over your head while crossing a street? I bet he didn't even look both ways, a number of things could've killed him. The chances of a helicopter crashing to the ground and killing someone and the chances of people listening to music too loudly, being ignorant to their surroundings and getting killed is a lot lower. It's a preventative measure. I see a lot of pedestrians are pretty stupid they think just because the light says they can go doesn't stop the speeding car running the red. Honestly in high school some people these days can't even hear you anymore and I feel like I"m talking to my grandma because I have to speak so loud. Limiting th volume is common courtesy and a safety issue.

What's the difference really? The mainstream religions follow some of the same things that cults do based on the definition. It's all the same to me. CUlts just seem to carry more negative conotations because of the things taht cults have done (i.e mass suicides). However, extremists in any religion or sect can also be considered religious cults of that religion, so I'd say it's pretty much the same.

A powerful earthquake has killed at least 8,500 people in China's south-western Sichuan province, up to 5,000 of them in just one county. quote> Here's the story: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/7396400.stm

Well, hopefully if Detroit is able to save itself, the mass transit systrem will have to be implemented quickly and efficiently. A time frame of several years, no less than a full decade to complete 90% of it. Most transit systrems in North America aren't as effective because of the slow expansion and short-sighted reach of the transportation. I hope to see Detroit come out of it's rusty doughnut. Hopefully they can start pumping out some more awesome elctric car models!

Stay-at-home mothers deserve six-figure salary, says research
TRNSTN replied to Aontan's topic in Current Events
Well I think one of the best things a mother could get from staying at home for X number of years raising her children nice and proper is having the kids turn out well. As someone said before you can't really put monetary value on a kid who was raised by a moral, just, responsbile, and loving mother. That child has so much potential. It would be nice if the mother did not have to struggle with finances as much, which is where tax breaks or government assisstance would come in. But definitely, if they need to start payinig mothers, it just somehow seems wrong to me. Parenthood is about raising children to the utmost of your ability and love, if you need to slap on a price to it saying something like "you'd have to pay me to change those diapers" does that child really deserve to be in a family like that? It's part of out nature to raise our next generation. -
Too bad the first picture has a giant golden archs in it It sill looks nice, I'd like to see some more sweeping cityscapes, get a larger regional image

Well International Holidays would only apply to those countries which participated in the event itself. I mean Cinco De Mayo sounds like it was both Mexicans and Americans who particiapted in the victory, so yes both countreis would celebrate it. You wouldn't really celebrate Chinese New Year if you weren't exactly Chinese. Yes Chinese people can celebrate it openly and with welcome arms so others can experience it, but no one should be "forced" or told to celebrate something. Just like I wouldn't celebrate Jewish holidays even if students from my school were Jewish and celebrating it. They do make morning announcements about the particular important holidays though, sometimes. thanks mapmaker for that little history lesson, I actually had no idea what Cinco De Mayo was.

Ok, I'll put my 20 cents in later..quote> You would think that after 500 years we'd stop using projectile bullet weapons and seemingly gas powered vehicles. So no I don't think a Halo future would be very desirable.
