Wouldn't it be cool if we could recreate New York in Cities XL? I mean, in Sim City 4 there were TONS of NYC remakes, so why not do it again in 3D? Well, all it really needs is a nice, big map that can replicate all the five boroughs into one giant city. The street grid would be much easier to create due to the various angles and avenues that are given. So why hasn't anyone done this already? I don't know too much about the game, but there are a few issues: 1) - Not enough peds! Sure, there's alot of cars on the road when traffic is heavy, but the sidewalks are practically lifeless. 2) - There's no subway system...yet. 3) - WE NEED TIMES SQUARE STYLED BUILDINGS! It would be amazing to see buildings with neon lights and ads in Cities XL. 4) - More landmarks. (So far I've seen the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building, 40 Wall Street, the Statue of Liberty and a few brownstones.) What do you guys think?

Oh cool...so I guess maps aren't really a problem. yeah, the system is pretty much useless. i have tons of stations and lines all over my city, but my sims prefer to take the bus instead. i only get about 5,000 commuters on the subway, and about 30,000 bus commuters in a population of about 100,000!!!! that sucks. personally, i wish sim city 4 would take you more in depth on creating a realistic subway system and maybe even allow you to design your own stations...

Cool! Did those buildings really grow naturally? I just plop apartments because it mostly grows into something that doesn't fit with my city. But you did a good job here! (as always). btw, you were on my trixie list too!

This CJ is by far the most accurately correct CJ I've ever seen! Will those piers with the garages be released on the STEX?

Hello fellow Simtropolites! I'm gearing up for my first CJ soon, and I've used a lot of plugins from the STEX. The only problem is that my plugins folder took a lot of virtual memory from my hard drive, and installing BAT is almost virtually impossible. Is there another way that can allow me to see the night lights on custom buildings, or is there a way to download BAT on another folder? I'm not that smart when it comes to technology, but if anyone can please help that would be great.

I've recently taken some pictures of my city, which I hope to post on my first CJ soon. The problem is, that I can't find the folder where the pictures are located. Now, I can't upload them to the internet. Where is the folder? Or, how can I view my in-game pictures in My Documents? Thanks.

I don't know if anyone's asked this, but what kind of transportation does Hypertrophy contain? i.e. subways, buses...etc.

I think I'll pack my bags and move to virtual NYC! This is one of my favorite CJ's! I have been following your blog and the journal, and I'm addicited! I plan on creating an NYC CJ once I have more experience using the BAT program and stuff. Also, if you go to Windows Live Local, there's a thing called "Bird's Eye View" which let's you see an area in a Sim City style view. I use it a lot when I recreate cities, and I find it more useful than Google Maps. Just a tip! Keep up the great work!

Lately, I've been re-creating NYC for a while, and I'm trying to fix up my Downtown area. Since I'm using a large NYC map, I needed to make the Brooklyn Bridge a bit farther down from City Hall. In region mode, the bridge looks to small and to far away from the tip of Manhattan. I noticed the problem, and it was that I needed to make the bridge diagonal like in real life. That way, it would look better in the city, rather then seperate from it's real life location. Does anyone know where I can find a modd that allows me to make my bridges diagonal?

Hey everyone, I'm sorta new. Can someone please tell me where I can find some one way roads with 3 - 4 lanes? I've been looking everywhere, even on the STEX. The problem is that my city is full of tall buildings, and I can't see the streets below, because the default one way roads with 2 lanes are too thin!!! I need a new one way road with 3 - 4 lanes to make the streets THICKER...(or at least more realistic) If someone knows where I can find some, much thanks is appreciated!!! (P.S. - I've seen the 3 lane roads at this website, on this pictures: and also
