(Seeking City Councilmen: Apply Within!) Pacifica: Interactive City Journal
beeman5 posted a topic in Cities: Skylines City Journals
Greetings all, With the districting feature of Cities: Skylines, interactive city journals can be more interactive! I am seeking city councilmen to participate in Pacifica. This topic also exists at the paradox forums so if there are councilmen on both, I will integrate across forums. Simtropolis seems to be more active city-journal wise though. Details: 1. Pacifica will be an interactive city journal utilizing a mayor-council government, based loosely on the weak-mayor type except the mayor will act as city manager OOC (Out of Character). The journal will be highly roleplayed. 2. Terms for mayor & council will be a period of 4-years in-game. There are no term limits. 3. I am currently seeking 6 councilmen. In the future, additional districts may be created depending on city size. If additional people want to contest the councilman after a period of 4 years in-game, then elections will be held. The position of Mayor (and thereby City Manager) will be elected. 4. Each district cannot have more than 7000 residents/workers. Once a district obtains 7000+ residents/workers, then that district will be split and an open council seat will be created. Until the council seat is filled, the old councilman will continue to represent that district. 5. A quorum is the majority of the council. What this means is that throughout the week, the Mayor will post updates and any outstanding issues. Pacifica's council will vote and decide on the issues. The Mayor is a non-voting member, unless there is a tie. If there is no action on an issue for a period of 24 hours and the majority of councilman have acted, then that issue will be settled. The maximum time for an issue to be open will be 72 hours. 6. During the course of the city, the Mayor reserved the right to take emergency measures to save the city. Otherwise, the Mayor should save the game and bring any outstanding issues to the council. 7. I am using the vanilla version of CS (no mods). 8. We will be using the Black Hills map. 9. If a councilman is absent from 3 rounds of voting, or a period of 72 hours, then the Mayor may remove that councilman for inactivity. How to Apply: Post a picture of your councilman, the name of your district, and a little background of your character. Draw up your development plan for the city, particularly your district. PACIFICA CITY COUNCIL: Mayor: Enzo Scalisi = beeman5 City Manager: Holly Johnson = beeman5 Ward 1: OPEN Ward 2: OPEN Ward 3: OPEN Ward 4: OPEN Ward 5: OPEN Ward 6: OPEN History of the City: Mar 2015 - A group of citizens gathered together to create a new city: Pacifica, along the shores of the Black Hills River. It was prime real estate, but a big risk. There was no real reason to build here at all. The river was nothing special. There was not much in terms of beaches and it was easy to drive an hour or two each way to the nearest town. However, with the backing of a variety of donors, the group elected their first mayor and council. -

Enzo Scalisi, Mayor Enzo was born in Chicago. His parents immigrated from Sicily and made a living in real estate. Enzo was also interested in real estate, but was tired of the problems of the sprawling metropolises and living in his parents' shadow. He saw an opportunity to found his own city and that's how he found himself at Pacifica. Holly Johnson, City Manager Holly is fresh out of college, although she earned high marks in her school, graduating with honors. When she heard about a new city opening up, she jumped at the opportunity. Also, many doubters of Pacifica helped spur Mayor Scalisi to hire her. -

You can translate the site into English... Fabulous work SimGoober! If you do decide to make the Westin Peachtree Plaza, maybe you'll make the Marriott Renaissance Center (or part of it) which is very similar. Just an addition to another suggestion... I like all your buildings and the brand names are the best! Keep it up

This journal continues to amaze me!!! Not only is the story excellent (it reminds me SO much of the X-Files right now) but your graphic skills are also superb as you use lighting and special effects such as fog to enhance the story. Excellence comes with time so don't worry about taking a break every once in awhile. Keep up the great work and I look forward to it!

Very nice What other stores do you have in that first picture besides Costco? Were these plopped or grown? I love your sprawl and road network! Keep up the great work.

Utora, I have been reading this journal front to back since the beginning of October (It took a long time!) and am amazed at the realism, suspenseful storyline, and excellent city building skills you possess. Keep up the great work! I would like to join your city (if it is still possible) as Orion Beeman, an attorney that is interested in politics. I am looking forward to more

Hey Paul, Good to hear from you I actually hadn't noticed the 3D Newspaper effects before, but now that I went back to it, the Herald certainly looks better and more realistic, especially with that graininess. I do notice that your updates now have a grey backgrounds... I hope it doesn't take you too long as we want more Digby! Gosh Dirk, first the signatures and now the colors! Perhaps he is the arch nemesis of Digby? Anyways, keep up the great work.

Paul You have really done a wonderful job with this journal. It never ceases to amaze me! I look forward to the Churches of Digby as well as further presentations by Fillmore & Associates Architects concerning this landmark building of the twin cities. Keep it up!

Perhaps the Digby Government planned this vacation just to get prices to rise...

I also can't believe you are doing the Unisource Energy Tower! I am a Tucsonan and am proud that this building is finally coming to Sim City Will you be making an extended base like the real world tower? http://www.emporis.com/en/wm/bu/?id=127419 (first pic) Also, emporis lists the tower at 23 floors... it was built the year I was born too! I can't wait to see it released!
