i have never encountered a problem like this before. My XP has worked fine. My net connection is wireless, yes, but it is very quick and effecient and has never (well, 98%) let me down. If there is something i need to upgrade to my PC, what do i upgrade?

does anyone know whats wrong? I've tried heaps. However, I still think something may be blocking simtropolis to connecting. a year ago i opened up some list that showed me everything about the net that it blocked. It was something like google earth and it asked me do u want to block it from accessing ur PC and i said yeah. Then im like, 'woops...' so i somehow unblock it. Where is this list? I use Norton antivirus and i have IE5, IE6 or IE7, lol im not too sure. plz help!

kk thx. lol i guess i took it too far... heh, when theres 1500 cars going down a road it goes dark red O_o. Still, I reckon it'd be hard to make a city changing the traffic when they hit orange... even when i wait til red my avenues are everywhere. However, i should probabaly use 6x6 squares. I usually use 4x4 squares so when you avenue it it turns into 2x2 squares lol. also i can't use modds or any downloads because when i click download my PC refuses to do anything. thx for answering anyways.

Ok I'd like to know how much streets/roads/avenues etc. can hold before you really gotta upgrade em. This is what I usually do: - Upgrade streets to roads once they hit 150 commuters - Upgrade roads to 1 ways at 1500 - Upgrade One Way Roads to avenues at 4000 - Upgrade avenues to extra avenue or highway at 6000 - Highways... i have no clue Is that right? Or is there other methods? And do you swap em when they hit dark red on the traffic charts? Or am i completely wrong and they can all hold for double that amount, lol. I made a 70,000 peep city yesterday I got about 5 main avenues to the industry and one way roads line everything else except the outer areas. That Ok? Its got about 15 hirises, the tallest being O'hare Apartments. Thanks when you answer!

k thx the download... er, i guess you could call it working. At least it doesn't do nothing when i click it. So i download it (takes about half a second even the NAM takes half a second...) and then i go close and open it from drive C and it contains nothing. Nothing at all. I right click on the download button for another modd just to see something and i click 'open in another window'... and that other window contains nothing but a white space. Yes, I'm kind of able to download it, but i don't think it downloads the actual modd at all :S

try 'jumping' a few graphics levels. Instead of doing the one below do one even furthur.... lol, im no whizz... Maybe restart your PC itself when simcity says you have to restart the game... :S Is the disk damaged?

I had the same problem when my moniter crashed and I got another... wider one. It was a long time ago but I fiddled with the settings in one of the things from the simcity options panel. I think it was the graphics button. What I did is downsize the screen resolution (you can probably get same results by upsizing it) then when it says restart the game do it. Now it'll be smaller. However now go back into options and click back to the screen resolution you were recently using. Restart the game and it 'should' work. I think simcity just needs to restart completely to acknowledge the size of your moniter...

- Simcity never autoruns. When you put the CD in, it'll make a noise but won't load. You'll have to click the actually Simcity button from your Programs. - Try both disks. If disk 2 doesn't work, put in 1, lol. its worth a try! On my windows 98 it uses disk 1 and on my XP it uses 2... =S - When you installed it, did you put, say, your friends CD in there after you installed it... if you did you'll have to reinstall it on the CD. because the writing it asked you to put in at the instillation is unique to each Simcity disc bought. - Does your system have enough RAM or memory to support Simcity? You might have installed something else inbetween your playing and messed it up
