Yes, Haljackey. Those textures by the ramps sure are wierd. I find that some beautification covers them up. And -- here it is. The space-saving trumpet: If an avenue meets an RHW downtown and you want it to end, this is the way to do it. This interchange in North Lebanon was built when 20,000 commuters were trekking South, on an avenue, and an upgrade was needed. Below you can see an urban parclo variant. The one way road that shoots up to the north eventually makes a turn to the west to serve evening commuters. Please post comments and/or suggestions.

Superb update! Good luck with that sunken highway. I saw those textures -- they look great. Looking forward to seeing a full update with them.

I like it, too. Great RHWs and interchanges.

That green bridge is just about the best thing I've ever seen in SCS. Keep up the good work.

It would seem that you are having the same kind of trouble as mrbisonm (mastermind of Nexis of Geneis ). Good luck cleaning your plugins! I had a minor cleanout a few days ago, but not on that kind of scale. Looking forward to next update.

Metric is superior to Imperial. For the following reasons: 1. The conversions are easy. All you have to do is shift a decimal or use a simple formula that you can do in your head. 2. The Imperial system is hard to remember (ex. 5280 ft = 1 mi, 3 ft = 1 yd, 1760 yd = 1 mi). Where's the logic in this? Powers of 10 are much more logical. 3. Contrary to the popular opinion, I am one of the few here that can picture a kilometer or liter. Grams are easier to use for drug measurements than ounces. Example: 5 mg of Prednisone or 1/4 ounces. Example: 800 mg of Tylenol or 40 ounces. 4. Degrees Celsius is more logical than Fahrenheit. 100 Celsius or 212 Fahrenheit. 0 Celsius or 32 Fahrenheit. 5. People thinking that the meter and so on is artificial. All units except the kilogram have been standardized with natural forces. Example: The Second. 9 trillion or so (I can't remember) oscillations of the Caesium-133 atom. The Meter: the distance that light travels in about 1/300000000 of a second. In short, the Metric system is utterly superior and that's why I'm a proud user of it . - Patricius Maximus

REPLIES: Sim_Air: Yes, that's true. It is massive, but both simple and amazing. Teeparex: Yes, they do. Haljackey: Thanks for leaving a comment. I trust you followed the link in my sig from your CJ? Glad you like the avenue mega-roundabout. Anyway, thanks for the advice. I'll be working to resolve that problem. I have decided to show you Patian County -- and with a transit system that huge, what better way to show it than a tour of it's highways? We will begin with Interstate 1, which is the oldest interstate highway in the region. This is the first significant point of I-1's northbound progression since it's beginning 1 kilometer south of this point: It then continues through a small town and winds through a forest towards a major city: That major city is Oakland, population 370,000. It first passes through a boomtown called Clarksville, population 75,000: In fact, it is expanding so rapidly that retaining walls haven't been constructed on half of the sunken highway! Construction crews are going to mobilize immediantly to fill in that hole. For now, it's a raw cut through the terrain: After another bend, we enter South Oakland. The undeveloped areas are slated for residential development in the future: The sunken section of I-1 terminates, preparing itself for Central Oakland: And now, like a gate, the overpass signals the entrance to Central Oakland: Multiple overpasses and onramps go over us as we go through Oakland: We now go through a complex interchange, midway through Oakland: I-1 now transfers to a sunken highway as we approach Northern Oakland: To the east we can see the 'Big Blue Building Complex', built decades ago by a maniac developer:

Haljackey, the developers in your city seem to have a taste for massive buildings. Love that transit system -- glad you're still using Maxis Highways and the RHW. They convert into each other quite easilly if you know what you're doing. Anyway, great update. Can't wait for some more of this

mrb, I always liked your CJ. Great region shots. Anyway, my largest city has about 550,000 sims in it. But since I build regionally, that statistic is meaningless for this thread. My largest region (that's unfinished) has a pop of 2 million and still booming.

Nice project, Jooola. I'd like to see that in a CJ myself...

I would like to add some points of my own to this discussion: 1. I am an atheist and proud of it. I believe that any theory or hypothesis (be it evolution, intelligent design, creationism, relgion) should be scientifically proven or disproven. 2. Evolution has more evidence than creationism. We can see some creatures adapting to their environment. We can see natural selection going on every day in the animal world. 3. There is absolutely no evidence for any supernatural 'master of the Universe' (or, if you want to put it this way, a god or gods). Most religious occurances can be disproven by science sooner or later. 4. The creationist argument that some creatures have systems that are too complex to be explained by evolution is incorrect in my opinion. No reputable scientist claims that they know everything and anything about the Universe. There are still gaps in current theories that must be filled in by revisions to them. 5. I challenge all the billions of religious people to find scientific evidence for god(s). If the evidence points unequivocally towards a creator, I will believe that -- but not before. 6. I believe that everyone has a right to have a belief, and so do I. I am only expressing mine here. No insults intended.

An example of what Societies can do
Patricius Maximus replied to baertooth's topic in City-Building Games
If I were to list the SimCity games, SCS would NOT be included, but I think Soldyne is part of an intrepid few that make SCS look better. I'll be watching your thread, Soldyne.... -
A city with population of at least 1000000
Patricius Maximus replied to Alba_'s topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I got 550,000 in a medium tile once, but I build regionally, so I don't have very large individual populations. My highest regional population is about 4 million in the unfinished one I'm currently working on. -

Pretty nice CJ..

I have a new interchange to show today. This one evolved out of an 'urban trumpet' idea: Then I decided to loose the loop ramp and connect it with the other RHW via a tunnel: And here it is: I'll be testing it in urban areas later. If you have only a small strip to build an interchange on, this one is perfect. Please post comments and/or suggestions.

Nice region. Lots of cities use grids, so don't be too ashamed of it if you are. Looking forward to next update...
