Katcilla: It looks pretty nice. A collector express transfer here and there and it'll be a great system. jutrock: 1) A nice parclo. 2) You've got the volleyball interchage function down, but it could use some cosmetic improvements. For one, the elevated highway ramps are too large. Use some straight ramps, under the perpindicular tab cycle. Secondly, the MIS ramps should be OWR's to improve symmetry. 3) Good parclo. According to my classification (spelled out a couple pages back) it is a C32. 4) You do a good job on your interchanges, but between them there's a lot of weaving. Try some bridges to eliminate it. For examples, visit my own Patrician Showcase. 5) Another good parclo. Well done. I've built, in a newer city, ahead of development, a paperclip interchange. Kurumi.com has a good page on them. They are good for high-capacity linkups between a freeway and parallel road. I've also built a new sloped cloverstack in the same tile: That's all from me for now. Naturally people disagree. That's why we have voting. TimeMaster: I do understand the ordiance. To limit the number of fast food restaurants per city tile, be it small, medium, or large. If you should have a limit of any kind, it should be based on population, not a land area. It deprives people of choice. If they choose to be healthy, they will abstain from the restaurants. People do not need the government to tell them what they eat or how much they should weigh.

Neither the Mayor nor the DOT approves of Supercity124's plan. It tears down buildings in downtown to pave new roads that are simply not needed. There is low volume on the streets, which indicate it is sufficient for the area. Also, it is a low-density and out-of-the-way area, and does not need any more roads at this time. Furthurmore, the DOT does not approve of the demanding tone of the request. If it is a request, do not act like you are the DOT yourself. If you wish to be, you can run against me in the next election. About the fast food restaurants, I am against any kind of limitation per tile, as this deprives the people of an important lifestyle choice that does not harm anyone else. To the people who said I couldn't make this: I'm happy to report that I've made a volleyball SPUI, which is basically a stack with an intersection at the center: Of course, it looks like two SPUIs hooked up together, but it performs the same function. Anyway, onto the development. Many commercial areas are accompanying the residential development, including this strip mall: East of the cloverstack, a new strip of commercial has enveloped the HOV road: To the south of the large district, a smaller strip of stores have been built paralleling the interchange: Over to the west, the three-way roundabout interchange had to be extended westbound: To the north of this, another block of residential has popped up: And another has appeared next to an avenue with sound walls: Lastly, yet another residential development has popped up like a mushroom: More will come in the coming days. The retired Admiral has set up residence and bought a property in River Bend, and he is curently occupying the villa in this pic: He has already proceeded to buy property, and construction on a new development is underway. In light of the new information, the DOT sees no need for the construction of the last curve. The DOT does reccomend that the previously mentioned path of the freeway be constructed, and terminate at the end of the cleared land. As requested, here is the DOT's proposal for a future three-way interchange. As you can see, it is a trumpet interchange. When it has to be upgraded to a 4-way, the loop ramps can be upgraded to a full set of them (eg. on a cloverleaf), and be supplemented by another set in the opposite quadrant. From there a cloverstack interchange can be constructed. \ What do you think about it?

This picture demonstrates how close the new interchange is to an earlier parclo. At this distance, it meets only the minimum design requirements for weaving prevention. The Department of Transportation has read the memo, and been in contact with the Mayor regarding specifics. From these facts, and archived pictures, the DOT has a plan for Virgin Shore's first freeway, Highway 1. Here is the plan for the terminus in the main city: Here is the next picture that the DOT has archived. The land requested to be reserved is for future freeway extensions, when more cities are developed: And here is the last one that I have planned. As you can see, the interchange planned is a Classic Diamond. The freeway continues out of this pictures's frame. If there is nothing to go to from there, then the DOT leaves it to the Mayor's discretion where to terminate it. Please click on all the pics for FULL resolution. Where the green stretch is demolished, access will be provided by the diamond interchange. DTP, if there are any complications with this plan, please notify the DOT. The DOT also approves the extension of the Red and Green bus lines. Before the DOT can work on the passenger line, we need corresponding pics of the main city's portion. I like Oilville. A very nice showcase of your industry. You pretty much do the same I so -- reserve an area for industry, zone it, and see what grows. I find that this looks the best, as opposed to sprawling factories and freight yards (well, sometimes they look good; but not in a R and C region). That glow on that power plant looks alienish. Screwball: I'm not sure about the 100 amount, but it sounds like a good idea to me. Simtropolis does not require a fee to use any of it's content. Donations are voluntary, and it appears that a steady stream is coming in, otherwise ST couldn't keep running. About the thousand-player online games, I think that a fee would be appropiate, as a lot of server power is required to host it. For games of, say, less than 50, I think little to no fee should be imposed. Just my opinion. Don't know much about the financial aspect of it. - Patricius Maximus

I'm glad my developments can make an economic contribution to Virgin Shores. Coast Highway? Arrowhead? Sounds like a neighbor connection to me. Check it out. It's in the "Pictures" category. The new area is developing steadilly. Some things within it are quite interesting, and I'm going to show some of them in this update. Here's a region view for reference: In Juranburg, the cloverstack variant has been beautified: To the north, a new overpass has been constructed to accomodate a surface avenue: Over to the northwest, a section of housing forms the main area of Juranburg: To the east is a commercial area. Note the HOV road, the first of it's kind in Patian County (I just downloaded those lots ): To the west of the housing area, there is another block of residential, with a street plan resembling a fused grid: And furthur northwest is another residential area: Meanwhile, in East Adamsburg, a development has sprung up near the toll road: And the oversight about the ramp has been corrected with a new toll booth: Over in West Adamsburg, connections to South Clearview are being made. After the grid plan of Clearview terminates, a residential area is being built. The area has many interchanges, showcased in this pic: In the southwest, there is a classic Parclo A42 (A4) that connects two avenues: North of the parclo, a roundabout interchange provides the dividing line between commercial and residential: Before the interchange, there are a few signs for gas stations: Over to the southeast of the area, two roundabouts provide connectivity for a variety of roads: To the northeast of the roundabout interchange, we encounter West Adamsburg's first residential area: Lastly, over to the east, there is a SPUI interchange. Thank you to all who helped me get elected and who gave me your vote. I shall not fail in my promises about the transit system. All that the ads said was true. I shall work to improve bus lines. I shall work to get mass transit operational once needed. I will not have weaving on freeways when they come, or left exits. I say now, and pledge to all citizens, that future freeways will have no weaving, and neither will their interchanges. There shall be no at-grade intersections on freeways. I take a hard line against congestion. I develop transit plans so well that congestion hardly has a chance. But if it happens, as soon as I know about it, I will work towards the solution of the problem to the best of my ability. I am sure that this will be a momentous second term for me and my department. We very well could see the first freeways in this term, since inter-city traffic is near. I pledge to serve above and beyond my call of duty as DOT head throughout my term. And I look forward to serving Virgin Shores for many terms to come. All these promises will continue to be kept as long as I stay in office.
