  1. Introduction

I agree. Get more custom content going on.
  2. Deluxe Police Station

It's a bit too... big. You have to consider these lots should have good size vs. usefulness. Nice concept, though.
  3. Loughley

In the middle of a vast, endless sea lay a small island. This island was quite hospitable for wildlife, hence animals of all shapes and sizes grazed upon the rocky island, soared through the blue sky, and filled the clear ocean. Yet with a land of such hospitality for the wild, a much stronger and intelligent species would come to the island, to explore the land, to tame the seas, and eventually, fill the island. Soon, they mastered the arts of contruction, foraging, hunting, and began their camp. A set of two primitive dome buildings constructed out of clay and sticks were built, and very soon, they were populated by a small tribe of ten people.
  4. Schulmania

Awesome, Schulmania is becoming huge! (No, really it is; it has 2 topics devoted to it)

estanton22 Thanks, and welcome to Simtrop! Glad to have introduced you to it. sc4portugal Thanks. archesrule29 Wait, what? jacquilina Thanks; it worked out perfectly, none of that package in the middle of city stuff at all. cetatea alba Heh, good point. Maybe I'll have them build a shrine there next update... maybe I will... A.Aperson Thanks, and welcome to Simtrop! emmotic The wait is over. SC4Poser-moser Yeah, that's what I was thinking of when I started this thing. danielcote Thanks- believe me, it's gonna get good soon. A NOTE FROM ARCHESRULE29 Sorry about the long hiatus guys, I'm gonna try and stay with this CJ for a long time. Now, without any further adu... ON TO THE CJ! The Loughlians are beginning to hit a breakthrough in building. Realising the mistakes of the past, the citizens of Loughley have considered wood a flammable and unsafe building material. Now, the hard new substance they had discovered (they decided to name it brick) became the number one choice for building. Two new structures were built to accomadate the high demand: a clay mine (seen to the top right) and a clay firing stove (seen to the left). The clay furnace was the first building with walls built entirely out of bricks; a large achievement for the Loughlians. It was strategically place far away from any of the wooden buildings to prevent another fire. The roof originally was to be made of sticks, but instead was made of dried pelts to prevent flaming pieces of wood landing on the people. The clay mine was basically a pit with walls around it to prevent people from falling in and sustaining injuries, a very smart move. The people of Loughley had a large argument as to where they should put it. Some wanted it near the farm, others said to near the mountain. Both sides though there were large quantities of clay in their chosen positions. Eventually it was settled the mountain was better. The citizens of Loughley began to wonder whether they should have someone in a high position to decide these things... The Loughlians also built another farm to feed a growing population (seen in the middle), an animal pen near the old farm, and an area to store rather large logs for fire (above the clay furnace), or as supports for the new brick buildings. This was indeed a great time in Loughley's architectural history, which the Loughlians fittingly labeled the "Brick Boom."

  10. Loughley

Alright guys, I'm gonna take a break from Loughley; I got a new computer, so I have to move all the files, and I haven't really had the time for that recently! Sorry for the delay, I will get to the next update when I can!
  11. Best And Worst

  12. Why should the person above you be banned?

For having a name similar to ham. That makes me hungry. Got any nachos?
  13. Why should the person above you be banned?

  14. The Simtropolis Lunchroom Game REBORN

...the LOLs burst in again, action sequence style! They have very strange outfits this time- Best Buy Uniforms... except they're wearing gas masks! The ran to the laptop attempted to fix it, and had nearly completed fixing it. They were almost done, until they realised it was raining out! They rushed it under cover and only needed to complete the system restore, when suddenly, GlaDOS came from nowhere, wheeled in a waterproof carriage, powered by Aperture Science MotionTech Engines! She stepped out of the carriage, only to realise that...
  15. New Prana convention center

C'mon, guys, it's intended to look futuristic! That means it has to look very clean and bright, therefore white as the colour. I do think it could some night-lighting, though, as even though it is futuristic, somebody's probably going to be up at 9 P.M.
  16. Neoh House

Yeah, the lots you've been making look pretty cool so far, but this is just plain awesome. It's interesting and detailed. Brilliant job!
  17. Obelisk Plaza

Looks pretty cool. I just think it could use a bit more colour, like maybe a little grass, as it does look a bit bland.
  18. Obelisk

I like it. Doesn't look too in-your-face, but also it stands out. Nice job!
  19. New Modern Mayor House

It looks pretty cool! Very futuristic. I see where you were going by keeping one colour, and it does give a nice effect. I think you should consider some better lighting around the windows though, and the scale looks slightly off. Bit too small compared to the people on the streets. Good job.
  20. Solar Buiding

I agree with Yoshii. It does seem slightly bland if it only has one colour. Try experimenting with textures and such. But the building itself looks very futuristic and cool.
  21. Loughley

jacqulina Thanks! sc4portugal Thank you, sc4portugal! binobi Indeed, just don't cut it out and place it on your monitor! That would be quite painful. ON TO ZE CITY JOURNAL ACTUAL! After the disaster of the newly developed building, Loughlians were shocked, and after identifiying the problem, set out to solve it immediately. Loughlians had no clue a single flying ember could be so destructive. They were scrambling to find ways to block any more loose embers. A stone or clay gate would be too heavy, and a wooden one would catch on fire. The Loughlians were totally stumped, creating outrageous ideas such as finding ways to make walls of water, to have a group of individuals constantly fan the flames back in, spinning the fireplace around at a rapid rate to make the fire dizzy, to prevent it from spewing embers. They were all truly strange, and quickly rejected. But then, one Loughlian exclaimed, "The mountain is angry at us! We should thank it more often!" The Loughlians, all buying into the theory that the mountain created them, were quick to accept this theory. And so, the Loughlians would now use prayer to prevent an ember from burning down their house. After the Loughlians accepted religion as the answer to preventing the burning of houses, there came the cleanup of the debris from the fire. Nearly every villager pitched in to pick up charred pieces of hide, and possibly recover a few supplies and morsels of wood which the fire had not consumed. The Loughlians finally got to the point where the only thing that would say there was a fire here was the fireplace and soot. Loughlians used an axe to cut up the clay. As the Loughlian with the axe struck the fireplace, he noticed it was unusually hard. Very hard, in fact. He swung his axe at it again. No effect. He swung it to the point he had only taken out a tiny bit of fireplace, yet broke his axe. The Loughlian was shocked. Why wouldn't the fireplace break? He had a great amount of people axe, kick, punch and wrestle the peculiar fireplace until it was only rubble. The Loughlians all kept pieces of the strange fireplace. Great ideas of usage came up, the most popular being a building material. And why not?
  22. Zephyri!

Nice job! The skyscrapers though don't look right at the edge of the forest... maybe some more development around them would do.
  23. Manhillton - member of the AFDES

Nice start, it looks awesome! The only thing I don't exactly like though is the fact the airport is so close to the suburbs. Normally they're placed far from the houses due to traffic noise. You've got a nice traffic system, the whole place is connected. The Warwick Mountains looks great, very realistic! I'll be looking forward to more!
  24. Cork

Wow, this is awesome! The suburbs look so realistic! Man, I wish I could live in one like those...
